We've never been to MNSSHP and are planning to go in the fall. I have two 16 year olds who love going to Disney and was wondering if everyone dresses up or not, even the "big kids" and adults? Thnx

I read another thread that said about 50% of the adults dress up. Where going for the first time this fall too....just my dh and I on our anniversary trip. I plan on ordering us some special tshirts for the party.

DH and I plan on wearing a bandana on my head and go as a pirate. The kids will wear more elaborate pirate costumes.pirate:

I went for the first time last fall with my brother, and being 30ish neither of us dressed up thinking only kids would wear costumes. We couldn't have been more wrong and ended up buying hats to wear as semi-costumes. This year we're going as a large group and the teenagers are already planning costumes for the group. The most important thing is you'll have a great time whether you wear a costume or not.:hmghost:

This is just me personally, and we (Babboo and myself) are Halloween freaks so I'm sure we're the minority :lmao: But I would dress up.

We're going with our kids and we'll all be in costume. Still on the fence as to what though. I have always dressed up for Halloween! From childhood, teen-hood, non kid adulthood and now. Me and my friends had huge Halloween parties and then in college we hit the bars who had the costumed parties.

Like I said, if it were me, I'd dress up and have fun! After all you're at Disney and that's what's Disney is for... right? ;)

Thx for your help!! It sounds like a lot of grownups dress up, whether it be a tee-shirt or a costume and what better place to act like a kid than Disney Wold. Thnx again!!!

Our family always dresses up, although we go through great pains to wear non-fussy, cool costumes. We've worn doctor scrubs and pirate gear and have been very comfortable. I've seen others get really elaborate (one couple was dressed as Cinderella and Prince Charming and all I could think standing behind them in line was OMG...that poor man must be SOOOO hot)! I will say that we seize the opportunity to dress up and act like children too, because if we did this at home the neighbors would think we lost it (although they are a bit stuffy anyway). :rotfl:

All the better reason to dress up! Freak the neighbors out! :rotfl:

I love people liek that, you can practically ruin their day with kindness :lmao:

:lmao: Great minds think alike! :lmao:

Hey, I see your going to be visiting the mouse the same time we are (if I'm doing my math correctly). We'll be going on 9/29. So if you see anyone wearing those lime green Mickey Heads with "Dis" on them...say hello! ;)

We went to MNSSHP last October. Everyone dressed up but my DH. I was working full time while planning the trip, and working a lot of overtime. That meant I didn't have enough time to plan for us to dress as a family. Youngest son was Spiderman, oldest was Darth Vader, and I was the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio. Now I am a stay at home mom and when we go next year, we will dress as a family. Luckily I can sew, so if I can't find the costumes that I like, I will just make them. As of right now the DS's want us to dress up as Shrek.

I saw the thread about the lime green crew, is that the key to getting recognised? We'll definately be on the look out!

I noticed too we have the same kids- boy, girl, boy LOL Funny!

Most dress up some don't so it is totally up to you guys but you will not be out of place wither way. They give everyone of all ages treat bags and let you trick or treat. This is one event that you can take the kids or just a group of adults can go to..We enjoy this just about better than anything we've done there..It is a must do but please get you tickets soon they sell out fast and if you buy them now you save $7 per ticket. On the Disney site they have the dates posted and youcan purchase them there and recieve them in the mail in about 11/2 -2 weeks Have fun

Yeah, the LGMH's seem to be the thing. Although we have seen others in the parks with just "Dis" on their shirts and they were in fact Dis'ers.

:rotfl: Now that is funny...even our kids are around the same ages...two teens and a toddler. ;)

Who knew here on DIS I would find my twin family? :cool1:

Babboo and I were just discussing what to do to make ourselves visible... HMMMMM the choices we have!

When we went we only saw little kids and some adults dressed up for the occasion but thats it we didnt really see alot of costumes.

I was really relieved to hear that many adults wear costumes! DH, DS (9yo) and I are going with good friends and their children (4yo twin girls and 19 mo boy). Our friends were pretty excited about dressing up but DH and I were skeptical. We finally decided to just through caution to the wind and go for it! DH will be Jack Sparrow, I'm Tinkerbell, and my friends are going as Minnie Mouse and Jedi Mickey Mouse (like at Star Tours at MGM!). The twins will be Princesses (of course) and DS will be a Stormtrooper (he totally got on board with the Star Wars thing). The little guy will probably be a pirate. Now we can't wait!:cutie:

Me and my DD2, DD7 will be pirate-esses. Wenches? pirate:
I look very much forward to dressing up. Always have, always will! :goodvibes
