Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Central 2004!!!!!! =0)

This will be our second MNSSHP (October 8th). We love the theme nights at the Magic Kingdom, and find them very much worth the money. (We've also been to MVMCP 4 times.)

Normally we eat at LTT, but this time we've decided to rest up earlier in the day, take major advantage of the concierge food, and not do the meal this time. However, there are perks to eating in the park, especially if you time it right! We try to time it so that we are leaving LTT just as they are about to open up Frontierland. That makes you first in line for the really good rides!

My son JUST informed me that he expects me to buy him the Horseless Carriage outside the Haunted Mansion this year! He remembered that it runs by itself at the party, and thinks dear old mom should buy it. Ah youth, gotta love it!

robinson...here's the info we have on Food and Wine Festival here at the DIS.

Miniefan...there is no charge for children under 3.Usually when making a PS they'll ask the children's ages in your party. I'm not sure if this is a problem or not. Some restaurants aren't to roomy to add a high chair to your table. You might want to call back again and ask!

Thanks so much.

How do you make reservations and is there an extra cost?

This board is wonderful.

The F&W Fest is included in your ticket into Epcot. There are various food and drink booths set up around World Showcase.

There are special events that have an extra charge on them.Scroll down on this link to where it says Party for the Senses that explains events that took place in 2003.http://allearsnet.com/tp/ep/foodwine.htm

Disney Dining will begin accepting reservations for the special events taking place at the 2004 Food & Wine Festival at 7:00am on Tuesday, July 20. While the schedule of events has not been released, we expect the Party For The Senses to be among this year's offerings. Stay tuned to the DIS for the latest news.

We're glad you found us!!! :earsboy:

Like a lot of others here, I can't read through 25 pages of posts so sorry if this has been asked....

What is the weather like during October? We will be there from the 20-27th with MNSSHP tix for the 24th. I am from CT so October is chilly and rainy here.
Thanks!

The first sentence of the thread says it... http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=560506 :D :D :D

The weather is usually wonderful, nothing like it is up north that time of the year.Although growing up in Indiana we sometimes had an Indian summer in Oct. Anyway....a couple years ago my boys wore sweatshirt under their short sleeved costumes the night of MNSSHP but that was unusual.Another year it was terribley hot and humid also unusual for Oct. It's mostly been short sleeved weather even in the evening.Maybe a light jacket towards the end of the evening.

Baloo........Thanks so much!
The Children's Place is having a big sale and I got tons of shorts and shirts for my DD to have for the trip. I am glad I won't have to return them.
You're the best!

any ideas for a lightweight Disney-themed costume for ds (2 and 11 months) (approx size 2T or 3T) for MNSSHP? We live in NJ, so we will have a heavier weight costume for trick-or-treating at home, but want to have something much lighter for our WDW trip.

I appreciate any help!

Hi everyone and thank you for all this wonderful information!!!!

I have a question but I need to explain the circumstances 1st

(I just found out last night that the MNSSHP would be on when we are planning on going to WDW before our cruise)

Here is my plan:

10/21 Thursday LATE Arrive at CBR (after midnight -- no parks!)
10/22 Friday Magic Kingdom
10/23 Saturday EARLY leave for our 7 night Western Cruise

NOW..... Since the MNSSHP tickets allow you in at 4pm, should I just forgo spending $50 + each and try to do Magic Kingdom and the Party all at once?

Oh, I have a DH, myself, and 2 DD's ages 6 & 4.

I was originally planning on going to Magic Kingdom only for the day -- my DD's favorite park -- and hitting the hotel pool or just resting the night before our big cruise.

But, I could save $200 if I just bought the MNSSHP tix and found something else to do that day. But will I have enough time for all the party, parades, trck and treating AND all the Fantasyland attractions too? My kids are troopers but, that may be a bit much!

What do you all think?

I think it would be a lot for a 6 and 4 year old to spend all day and night at WDW. It is less crowded at the MNSSHP, so you can get a lot more of Magic Kingdom in during the 4-midnight time frame. I'm basing this on the last 4 MNSSHPs. The wait on most rides was very small. A few rides we got right on. I would recommend considering the Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner before the party starts. The characters are in costume and the meal is very good. A fun way to start the night. I'd get the little ones a short nap in the afternoon so they are charged up for the night. When my DS was younger, we did that for him.

Hey baloo, you are a great source for Disney. Thanks! You just need to change your picture of Baloo. I think his flag should have a horseshoe. :) Oh well, I guess we at least both love Disney!

Thanks BK!

I only wish my children would nap, but they will not!

I am leaning towards spending the day swimming and relaxing and just trying to squeeze in MK (mainly Fantasyland -- Philharmagic was not open yet last year and Pooh was closed so we gotta see those!)

I have never eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern, I will have to look into that!

I have my tickets (2 adults - 1 child) for the night of Oct. 8th, but I'd really like to change our trip dates. Does anyone know if there is any possible way to change the dates of our tickets? I don't want a refund, just an even exchange of dates. TIA!:)

I have read that a lot of people make dinner reservations at LLT so they can eat while MK is cleared between 6-7 pm. Are the characters in Halloween costumes between that time or only after the MNSSHP starts at 7 pm?

The whole evening.

They are basically wearing masks.

Hi Dznydreams, I don't know the answer to the date-switching of tickets but we're going to mnsshp and LTT Oct. 8. I'm already a little antsy about Columbus Day wknd crowds so was just wondering if you'd gotten some heads-up in that dept that makes you want to switch dates? (But I do not mean to be nosy about personal reasons! )

On the other hand -- this truly is the only weekend we can go so it really makes no sense for me to worry anymore!

We just got our tickets for the 3rd!! Two Goofy's! I guess DS(2) does not require a ticket since they didn't send one. See you all there!:)

I'm lazy and don't want to search through whole thread...

I'm wondering if you vets have an idea what temps. it will be in the evening (7-12pm) in beginning of Oct.

We have tickets Oct. 3 and I'm wondering if the Buzz costume from the DS will be too hot for my 8 year old.

Anyone know average evening temps?

Thanks!
-Melissa

Hi jtjarvis! No, our decision to switch dates had nothing to do with crowds. My husband needed to switch due to a work-related reason.

For anyone who might have wondered if switching is possible, it is as long as there is availability. I called Disney Tickets, and they said that there were plenty of tix left for the date I want to switch to (Sunday, Oct 17th), and that all I need to do is to mail the tix back to them with a note that explains what I'd like to do. So, I've made copies of everything and will be mailing them to Disney Tix today.
