Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Central 2004!!!!!! =0)

Michael's Craft Store has a ton of Hawaiian themed items - grass skirts, leis, etc. Maybe I"ll just pick those up for the girls and do the "pirate thing" for my son!

Thanks!

Wishingonastar,
Welcome to Dis, and I'll also be at the Party on the 1st.
I'm going to keep my PS at LTT, it will be interesting to see the costumes they put on the charactors.
Lynn

Thanks for the welcomes!

Lynn - Wow, I think we're the only ones who posted for going on the first - maybe we'll have the MK to ourselves.... (I can dream can't I?)

Wishingonastar.
We can hope.
I went the first weekend to MVMCP and it was not too busy, so hopefully the same thing will happen for the Halloween party.

Can anyone provide me with a few more details on Cinderella's Coach at MNSSHP? In particular, I am wondering if you are able to get picture in it. It appears to be roped off and I am just curious if it is a good photo spot.

Cinderella's Coach is indeed roped off with velvet cording attached to upright posts. We were able to get a cute photo of our daughter standing right in front of it, however, but you couldn't actually get inside the coach. There are also assorted hay bales and pumpkins gathered on the ground around the coach. If I could figure out how to post a picture, I could show you pretty clearly

We're booked for 10/31 and have LTT reservations! Even though we know it will be crowded we're still excited. We will be there for 10 days so I know this won't be our only chance to ride MK rides. We will probably just soak in the atmosphere and the extras.

As far as costumes...my daughter will probably be Lilo and my 2 year old son will be Stitch. It will be hilarious for us because she is so Lilo and he is so Stitch. ;) For us, we may go along with the theme and I'll do a hula outfit and Chris can wear a hawaiian shirt. We also thought about doing a pirate and maiden. The hawaiian shirt and hula outfit would be MUCH easier. The hawaiian theme would also be great because we are staying at the Polynesian. ;)

Now comes the hard part...waiting until we leave! ::yes::

the coach is behind the castle and ropes off...Cinderella, the fairy Godmother and usually another princess are there ofter throughout the night to sign and pose for photos...

Thanks for the information on Cinderellla's Carriage! I just received my tickets for October 22nd and can't wait!

Thanks, again.

OMG!! I already got my tickets!! I ordered them on the 22nd!! Wahoo!! I was so excited-then when I opened the envelope, instead of there being 7 tickets for our group, there were 9!!! I checked the receipt and was charged for 7, but there were 9 in the envelope!! THEN I looked closer, the 2 extra were stuck to 2 others, and when I flipped them over, they were blanks. shucks!
Anyway, I am psyched they came so early!!

We are going in Oct. 2005 the week of Columbus Day. I know those MNSSHP dates aren't out yet, but based on past years, is there any way to tell what days that week they will have the party?

They are usually on Fri, Sun, Tues and Thurs

Here's the last few years...they added quite a few this year!

MNSSHP 2002 = Oct 11, 17, 20, 25, 27, 31 and Nov 1

MNSSHP 2003 = Oct. 3, 5, 10, 14, 16, 19, 24, 26, 30, 31

MNSSHP 2004 = Oct. 1, 3, 8, 12, 14, 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, 31

I checked with Disney about the costume guidelines because my DH wanted to wear a pirate mask that he has.

Disney states that no mask or anything obstructing a person's vison can be worn.

My DH wasn't too happy about that one, and wasn't going to wear a costume, but we might have him talked into wearing one after all. Especially if he can get a "Mr Incredible" costume. :bitelip: :rolleyes1

My DD & I are still unsure of what we will wear. Had considered Wendy & Tigerlily, then Briar Rose (not Princess Aurora) and Cinderella in her work clothes. So we are still deciding.

Can't wait though. :hyper: :hyper:

Hi there, Beattyfamily is a better source than I :p but as I am going the weekend before Columbus Day of this year, I can add that the pattern seems to be there is not a Sunday party the night before Monday Columbus Day itself. Looks like this year the week prior to CD there'll be Tue. and Thurs. parties, and then a Tue. party the night after CD.

Hope this helps! I too was trying to figure out the 2004 schedule a long time ago  and it did play out true to usual form. Good luck!

Does anyone know how crowded the 1st party is ?? I went 2 times last year an it was not bad at all . But it was not the 1st week.

Wishing all a Tagged night

Hi! We went to WDW for Halloween 2001 and dressed up as our own version of the Tapestry of Dreams parade. We got around the 'No Masks' rule by making 'masks on a stick' that we held in our hands. No, we didn't carry them around all night - we brought a backpack to put them - but it was great to have them for pictures! We painted ours on foamboard and then glued them to the wooden paint sticks you can get for free from Wal-Mart. You could always print whatever superhero's face you want on a full-page sticker sheet, stick it on a piece of foam board and cut it out. I did a similar thing for my son's Bionicle costume two years ago and it worked out great! (Actually, I made costumes for him and 5 of his friends!) Hope this helps!

My DH had a pirate skull mask that goes completely over his head that he wanted to wear and go as a pirate (could have been from POTC - Black Pearl type of pirate). He was really disappointed to find out no masks. He actually wasn't going to dress up at all when he heard that.

DD & I talked him into wearing a costume afterall by giving him a couple other suggestions for costumes - Capt Hook type pirate and then unfortunately I found a Mr. Incredible costume, but it is a one size fits all type costume and DH is short. :p But at least he hasn't ruled out a costume completely.

I'd like to try and go as some type of theme, but I think that isn't going to happen. We will probably all be sometype of Disney character though.

Michelle: Thank you for the great idea of putting the mask on a stick!! Our Disney store just put out Halloween costumes yesterday and both my daughters want to be Kim Possible -- of course they were both unhappy when I told them about the no mask rule. The foam Kim mask (complete with red hair) should work with a paint stirrer. Thank you!

MNSSHP was the best money we spent last year!!!!! We are planning next year, can't make it this year. We drive down so taking costumes for 3 kids was easy. I put them into a garment bag. On our night all we had to do was take everything out of one bag. No hunting around or forgetting someone's wand or sword. My kids all chose easy outfits the oldest wanted to be Sorrcer Mickey - we already had the hat, he wore a red graduation gown, a blue lightweight long sleeve shirt underneath and topped it off with white gloves and a wand. Middle DS was a pirate bought a cheap costume at home and added a few things of his. DD was Cinderella. She already had the whole costume as this is her favorite. Having everything in one bag made things extremly easy.
As far as crowds it's a ticketed event so it's not like being in the park during peak season, but you may have to wait in line 20 minutes on Halloween night. Don't forget to catch the parade and get a glimpse of the headless horseman!!!pirate:

My DS-7 is going to be Sorcerer Mickey this year! Like you, we already have the hat  and my mom is going to make him a lightweight red robe which we'll tie with gold cord. She's a great seamstress, but the graduation robe you did is a fantastic idea. DS-5 will be Peter Pan with a costume my mom is making from the Disney pattern. Wish I had a DD! I'd be rather tempted to be Princess Aurora myself princess: if I had more nerve and were, say, 20 years younger, alas! (No other adults in our party are dressing up-- think we'll do the Halloween T-shirts lots of people do.) I'm actually going to try to grab up a mnsshp T-shirt as soon as I can, when we get there. They seem really cool!
