Is it worth paying the extra for MNSSHP or is it just more of the same with costumes on?

Mark

For me the parade and fireworks alone are worth it! Then you get the free photo and MK at night! We love it!

How long before you got your tickets?

I ordered them on the 12th of May and haven't gotten them yet.
4 weeks, I called when I got home and was given a number to call tomorrow.

Going on the 31st

BuzzandWoody - That seems like an awful long time to wait for tickets...I ordered mine the first day they were on sale and received them about 10 days later. Hope they # they told you to call can help you out.

:)

I see that many people have purchased their tickets in advance. How far in advance do you need to purchase tickets? We attended the MNSSHP several years ago and bought our tickets the day we went. We will be in WDW mid-October and plan to go to the party sometime during the week. Should we just pick a date now and buy the tickets or can we wait?

Thank you

Thank you

The only nights you need to worry about are Halloween and the Friday before (Oct 29). They will most likely sell out. The rest will probably not.

I like buying mine early because I'm an obsessive planner!!:teeth:

LuvTigger...Are there many adults-only attendees, or do most have children? There's a mixed bag from tots, tweeners, teens, couples, adults and grandparents but a LOT of kids!

Btw, are the party shirts only available during the party, or do you think we'll be able to get them earlier in the day, or even a day or two earlier? I'm not sure as I've only see them at the parties.

DisneyDianne...I just want to make sure I have this right? You do not have to use a hopper pass along with the ticket? And is that the same for the Christmas Party at the MK also? You are correct ,you only need MNSSHP ticket to attend this event.Same thing goes for MVMCP too.

MarieS... We can go to the party either Sunday the 24th or Tuesday the 26th. Any opinions?
Sunday is EE for MK so if we go then, we will need to leave the park for a long afternoon rest break. Would this be do-able?
I think Tues. might be your best bet.I always like to just go to MK for MNSSHP as it seems more magical ,to me anyway, to only go there for the party on the party days.

jtjarvis...What are Party Shirts? Are they shirts that have the Disney gang and the MNSSHP logo on them? DO they sell them? Do they date them?[
I think the logo has been the same the last couple years Mickey dressed like a scarecrow ,with a pumkin ,some leaves ,is what I remember...it will say the year but not the date.I know last years shirts were tye-dyed purple and there have been orange tye-dyed in the past.

bigbabyblues...Do we get to keep these? Yes you can !!! I know my different WDW tickets from trips through the years are some of my favorite keepsakes! :MickeyMo

twoeeyy... Our daughter will be turning twelve on the 12th while at the party, she does not know we are going since we are staying onsite at Universal for this trip, so I can't wait to see her face as we drive to the Halloween party for her birthday. How cooooooooooool!!! What a wonderful way to spend your birthdate birthday!!! Lucky girl! princess:

Lisa loves Pooh...If the party starts at 7pm...how early can you get in prior to that without requiring a day ticket? We got in around 5:30pm last year but I think some posters here have said they got in around 4:30pm.Since I didn't try earlier I'm not sure about that one!

MarkWatson...Is it worth paying the extra for MNSSHP or is it just more of the same with costumes on? It is most DEFINITELY worth attending. The decorations, the parade, the guest dressed up are all so special. The Headless Horseman ride is amazing, the Haunted Riverboat ride things that don't go on during an ordinary MK day.The short lines for rides ROCKS!! Oh and they GIVE you candy!!!:earboy2:

I'd pick a date by the end of July and order tickets by then. The MNSSHP gain MORE popularity as each goes by! Halloween is always a sellout and I bet Oct 29 will be too this year as it's a Friday night.

I have been lurking since page 1 and finally decided to post.

For the last 2 years we have taken the DCL Halloween cruise but decided to visit the parks this Halloween. We will be going to the MNSSHP on Oct 26. Tickets have already arrived. LTT reservations for 5 PM. Staying offsite this trip.

We will also celebrate birthdays. My BD is Oct 24. DH's BD is Oct 31. DS's BD is not until January but at 4, every birthday celebration is his.

We don't plan to be in costume but I might be able to dig up some DIS Green. :smooth:

Who cares if it means I am another year older...I can't wait until October.

Hi there!

My group of 5 is planning on going to the 10/28 MNSSHP. From what I gather from previous posts, it may be possible to enter MK prior to 7pm with the party ticket? So, for example, would I be able to make a late PS at Tony's (we're prefer not to go to LTT), say about 5:00pm, have a bite to eat and then go enjoy the party? Or would I need my regular park pass?

Also, PS for Tony's would be at the 90-day mark, yes?

If we don't need the regular park pass, we may end up relaxing during the day at the resort, rather than waste a hopper day.

My sincerest apologies if this has already been covered. Many thanks!

Yes, you are correct on all counts!::yes::

You can enter the park with just party tickets after 4:00p

You can book Tony's at 90 days

If MK closes at 6pm and MNSSHP starts at 7pm, how does it work if you have a PS for LTT at 6:15?

You will need to be at LTT by 6pm since all PS require you to check in 15 minutes early. That said, you should allow at least 15 minutes to get from the gate to LTT. I would say plan to be at MK by 5:30 to give you time to get through the gate and over to LTT. They may ask you for your ressie # so have it just in case.
YOu will be fine to get in for a dinner ressie.

We will be there on the 26th too and have LTT ressies at 5:20. See you there!

I think Tues Oct 26th would be better than the 28th.

sorry in advance if someone has already replied to this one but I haven't been on in awhile!! Has anyone managed to buy their tickets online yet? I'm sure that I had ordered them by this time last year but can't find the link on the WDW website?

They JUST added this feature to Disney.com a couple of days ago so now you can buy them online.

It's under passes in Special Events.

I've enjoyed reading all the posts, very helpful. I am wondering if this sounds doable. My DS and I are scheduled to arrive at the airport at 4:15 on 10/12. We plan on going to MNSSHP that night as it is our only opportunity. Do you think we would be able to wait and buy our tickets that night, just in case the plane is late, car rental problems, etc delays us and we can't go? Or should I bite the bullet and buy them in advance. TIA!

:earsboy: Welcome to the Dis dismikki! :earsboy:

I think if you really want to go to MNSSHP you should purchase ahead a time. Oct 12th is the day after Columbus Day ,a week of Fall Break for ALOT of schools these day...my son for one :D ....that week is a bit more crowded than the other weeks in Oct.

The party "officially" starts at 7pm and runs until midnight although Main Street stays open for at least and hour after that.

Last year was the first year we entered early,we got there about 5:30pm. In years past we arrived at the gates about 6 or 6:30pm and were NOT let in until a few minutes before 7pm. We always felt like we had a GREAT time just being there 7pm until 12:30am or so!

I'll be there (I think I'll be 16) with my mum and dad and two brothers (14). I think I'm going to be the only one of us dressed up but I know exactly what my costume is going to be! I'm so excited! Does anyone want me to post a photo?

Oh yeah, we're going on the 26th. It'll be our 4th party I think and we always have a great time! It's nice to go all out for Halloween because we don't do it over here in the UK.
