**Mickey's Merry Cruisers** 12/13/09 4 night Wonder

problem ...Gina's having trouble getting her passport because her name is spelled wrong on the copy of her birth certificate. She has to pay again to get a correct copy. Doesn't make sense - she didn't make the mistake, the county did. Now she'll have to pay the extra $$ to expedite her passport. She's hoping we'll make this cruise due to everything that's happening.

I dont believe you need a passport for the cruise. It only takes 4 weeks for regular passports you have 8 mts you should have no problem for this cruise I havent even began to get passports for my kids yet. Ill worry about it over the summer if i even get them. The only reason gina would need a passport is if the boat broke down caught fire something that they had to fly you home from a forgien port or she is NOT a us citizen.

Rita, I thought you needed a passport if you go on a cruise now! Even if she doesn't need one, she still needs to get her ID corrected to go on the cruise.

If you are leaving and returning from the same port you don't have to have a passport. But who knows how long that will last.

Yep, I've recently learned of the exemption for travelers returning to the same port. Here is a link to a recent thread that has a lot of good information about cruising and passports.

Thanks for the input. I thought by June '09 everyone had to have a passport to travel by air or cruise line. Who knows, it may change by June. I'd rather be safe than sorry. :

no matter what you decide you have plenty of time so no worrying . Even after june 09 if you leave fom a US port and return to a US port you do not need them of course its better to have them however it it takes a long time for her stuff to get fixed I would not miss my cruise over it . Im goin 2 bed eveyone have a great saturday

From what I have been reading, you do not have to have a passport to cruise. If you are in Nassau though, and get hit by one of those crazy taxi drivers, if you do not have a passport you will be stuck with healthcare in the Bahamas. You will not be flying back to the U.S. to get medical treatment.

DW and I have our passports and DS will have his by the time we go. It is a very small price to pay for peace of mind.

If any one has read about menus being changed and still questioning the fact...it's true. The Wonder has changed and the Magic will change the first part of the summer.
If you care to view a sample of the menu go to www.disneycruise.com
Select onboard, click on Dining than select the different restaurants on the Wonder. I doubt the new Magic menu will be posted as the old one still in use.

Just curious, is anyone using a fish extender? I read one person is supposed to make everyone's. We can make our own. I looked at several of them with several pockets...I'm not that talented. (Maybe a plastic K-mart bag with Mickey or DWonder on the front!)
What do you think about a fish extender??? Your thoughts, suggestions are appreciated.

I also read they can be inexpensive gifts from the dollar store, pencils, notebooks, magnets, etc.

I have a FE i bought mine on ebay before the last cruise we recieved stuff like disney pens, stickers i gave out glow braclets for pirate nite. i got my stuff from oriential trading company. I did do a magnet exchange so there is another idea for a FE gift

What do you think about FE? Should we do them? If we decide upon this, I'd sooner want to know and prepare ahead of time. Less stress and last minute "to do" things. : Everything can be ready to go.

they just dont have ocd over planning this cruise like we do Im sure they will get excited when it gets closer. I was excited when i rebooked on board . I might be getting 2 rooms i think my neice wants to come if she does that will be 5 in my party. We just lost her uncle to brain cancer so I havent really brought up the cruise with her parents but shes really bugging me. Im gonna have to find out soon so i can start booking I get excited over more planning

Hi everyone. Obsessive planner here.I booked our cruise the same day I booked our Universal/Disney stay for last August in Feb 08.I've got everything set to the point that my DH says I should get a job as a travel agent. I sent info to Carol for a no sew FE and I'm making some cruise magnet designs for us "Mickey Merry Cruisers." Revving up Photo Shop as I type.I'll post them when I'm finished. Come on every one join in the fun!
