Just came across a picture of this sundae on mouseplanet. 8 scoops and other stuff served in a sorcerer mickey hat. After further investigation I found out the the place to get this huge Sundae is Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store next door to the El Capitan Theater. It just opened up on June 22nd when I was in CA but of course just found out about it today. UGH!!! Guess I will just have to make another trip to Disneyland and go check this place out to get my ice cream and disney fix.

Has anybody here tried it? How does in compare to the kitchen sink that you can get in WDW?

If this place is near the El Capitan Theater, it is closer to Universal Studios than to Disneyland.
El Capitan Theater is in Hollywood, not Anaheim.

Enjoy life and great vacations!

Thanks for the link Dilberry! It is indeed in Hollywood, but what a fun side trip this would make! The El Capitan Theater is where they had staged the Lion King for a few years. Lately it has been showing Disney movies.

Lion King was actually at the Pantages Theater (we saw it twice while it was there). Pantages is also on Hollywood Blvd, but it's about 4 or so blocks east of the El Capitan.

El Capitan theater has always shown Disney movies, since Disney bought it. We like to see movies here because they always do something special that relates to the movie that is showing.

We were there on Saturday and saw "Sky High" (cute movie) and went to the Soda Fountain afterward. It was fun. We didn't order the Mickey sundae, but we saw several being made, since we sat at the counter.

They come in a big Sorcerer Mickey hat with I think about 10 scoops of ice cream, your choice of 3 toppings, 1/2 a can of whip cream & cherries (for $24.95). It's not even close to being as big as the Kitchen Sink sundae, and has alot less in it. The Kitchen sink has cake, brownie, all the flavors of ice cream, all the toppings & a whole can of whip cream.

It was cute, but for the same price as the Kitchen sink, I'd rather have the Kitchen Sink.

You can also get the Kitchen Sink at PCH Grill at Paradise Pier hotel in Disneyland.

They did have the old fashion sodas though and we got 1 chocolate & 1 vanilla/cherry.

It is worth a stop if your in the area.

Oh, you're right! Pantages had the Lion King.
El Capitan is down the street.
Thanks for the correction!

I'm sorry to seem dumb but what does the kitchen sink come in (a sink?)?

Yes it does. It's actually a big silver bowl with a sink faucet coming up out of the middle, but it is huge. I think there is a picture of one on the WDW Restuarant boards under the "Picture of Food" thread.

That describes it pretty closely. We had it in July and it ended up being dinner for my family of 4. We had planned on it being a early snack but we were so full after eating it. I didn't have a clue one was available here in CA. Will have to head to PPH next visit to DL to get one!

Woohoo, I wanted to try the Kitchen Sink at WDW but we never made it over there. So, we'll have to try it out while we are in DL. Although, there's only 2 of us so I doubt we'll be able to eat it all... but we can try!

Do they have a "lite" version? (ie... reduced calorie cool whip?) :rotfl2:

My 2 kids and I (equivalent to 2 adults :earboy2: ) shared one while at PPH in July. We didn't come close to finishing it, but I mostly got it for the WOW factor for my kids.

It looked pretty nasty after awhile when all the ingredients started to melt together, but it still tasted good.

Also PCH Grill offers AAA & Disney Visa discounts, so you can saw 10% on it.

Does anyone know if you can buy the actual dish??
