It's one of Disney's nicer parades. I like it much more than the Stars and Motor Cars parade. Definately one of my family's must do's.

We were really disappointed in this parade.

if i'm at the park, we'll watch it. But i would not make a special trip for it or stay extra late for it if i'm ready to go.

I agree with sm4987, much better than S&MC. That music sure is infectious - you find yourself singing "rhythm of one" for weeks!

We just saw it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and LOVED it!!!! Most of the performers who were walking, on stilts, ect. came over to my DD6 and gave her a High Five, she was in Disney Heaven!!!!!

on the crowds at this parade? We usually avoid the hectic-ness of the MK parades, maybe my kids would enjoy this one. Do you have to find a spot eons beforehand? Any good viewing spots you'd like to share? TIA

We enjoy the current parade much more than the original parade that we saw before the park "officially opened". The kids enjoy it and we haven't found it hard to find a place to watch it.

OK, OK... I'll share my very awesome tip for the Jammin' Jungle Parade...just keep it quiet 'cept us DIS folks, ok?

The parade starts in the Africa section...goes across the bridge and around the front part of the park...in a counter-clockwise direction. It makes a big circle and finishes by coming across the park on the pathway from Asia to Africa, and then heading back to its start point.

People line up all around the parade route to watch, right? And you know how it is once the parade goes by...people follow the parade...in this case, since AK really doesn't take ALL day to do, they follow the parade from Africa to the park front and then exit.

Are you with me? So...you hang out in Africa...my choice is the Dawa Bar, you might choose the Tusker house for a snack, or go on the safari if you think you can time it right. All the people who initially lined up for the parade follow it out of Africa...the parade comes BACK to Africa...and presto! You're there in the front row! Didn't have to stake out the spot hours ahead. No worries!

Granted, this idea has worked in January and March...haven't tried it in July (and won't...you won't see me at WDW with those crowds). Now...shhhhh!!!!! We don't want EVERYONE to know!

We timed it to watch right after Kali River Rapids. We staked out our spot 15 minutes before and loved the parade. I've been in AK many times and never stayed for the parade before. Big mistake, we won't do that again.

We love this parade. It's si upbeat and lively, and there's a lot of interaction with the performers.

We saw it in July and stood right outside the store across from Tusker House, and it wasn't crowded at all. DH sat on the block of cement/stone/whatever that structure is outside thew gift shop and had a clear view. I kept going back and forth, from him and then right up to the parade. It was great.

I also love this parade but I do have to agree that I wouldn't go to the park just to see it. The spot we picked was next to the bridge between Asia and Africa (I can't remember, sorry, if it is actually in Africa or in Asia). For me having people in front of me ruins the parade experience because I'm 4'9" (hard to see) and this was the perfect spot because it's only big enough for one body - no chance of anyone getting in front of me. And when you are waiting for the parade you can sit and have something to lean on.
