We haven't seen it yet, but we are really looking forward to seeing it on our upcoming trip. Saw a few pictures and a video of it and it looks awesome. So colorful and great music.
I can't wait to watch this parade with DNeph (8) in only 11 days !!! - it's one of my FAVORITES and he's never seen it !!! He is SUCH an animal LOVER!!
Tracy - do they ever pick a 'family' of just 2 to ride in the parade? - I seem to remember that some of the 'guest floats' were rather small.
Wow, Tracy, inside scoop..love it. We'll have to stand in one of those 2 places. I'll be sure to wave at the party patrol. My oldest son loves AK (says it's his favorite park) of course at age 5 he wants to be an animal rescuer when he grows up. He'll love being where the characters pay attention to him. Great hint! Thanks!
Party Patrol-got it! Be sure to wave back when the solo woman waves at you in September (like you'll remember and be able to pick me out!). I'm practicing my waving because we recently had a discussion on what job you want at WDW, and when I retire, I'm planning on applying to drive one of those low cars that drive the floats. Sit in the car and wave at Animal Kingdom-I think I can do that, and love it too! So I'll be practicing waving!
I love this parade!! It's so much fun and very different. My favourite part is waving to the families in the floats, and watching the little kids get so excited because they are famous for the moment. I always go to the Africa bridge, where there's never too big a crowd, as mentioned before. It's great feeling like the parade is there just for me since nobody's across the way!!
YES! That's me, safari hat and canteen, dancin' around in the jungle Our actual title is "Party Patrol". Thank you so much for your kind words! I have been doing the parade for...well, a VERY long time and we don't often get to hear feedback from park guests, so it's been so great reading the enthusiastic responses to the parade on this thread.
Thanks, and if any of you have been chosen to ride in the parade in the past, we may have met!
We liked this parade the best. How cool that you get to be in it! I am not telling where we stood...for our own reasons, we loved it. It was rather crowded there, but my youngest dd is a character-magnet. Every parade she got tons of personal attention and JJP was no different. It seemed a lot more fun and upbeat than the more formal-seeming SADCT at MK. If you are still in the parade in August, you'll see us (just look for the family with lots of kids + mom in glasses, lol).
I hate the time that this parade takes place, because in August it will be BRUTAL. But we have to try and see it anyway.

YES! Come on down and join us! It's every bit as fun as it looks.
taximomfor4-
August, brutal? Tell me about it!! Not that I'm complaining, of course, but it sure does get warm out there! I'll be looking for you! You don't know how great it is to see families that are clapping and having fun (especially in August when everyone is in what I call a Heat Coma). Most people are just too hot to smile, much less clap. I totally understand! But then one family or couple will catch my eye and they'll be happy and dancing and having a great time, and I seriously think to myself "I wonder if these people are ever on the DIS boards!"
Anyway, I'll be the tall blond one with pigtails, looking for friendly people to wave to
