Mickey's Halloween Treat question

Hi all we went last year and had a great time. We had a range of age group. Me, hubby, kids 3, 7 papa and grammy 60ish and one auntie in her 20's with Down Syndrome. It is in DCA and the entire park has special light, orange, spiders etc. They do give you treat bags when you enter, but they are small so you might wan to bring at least one large one with you. My kids just wanted the carrots and apples.

Her Aunt had made my youngest the Cinderella dress that the mice and birds make. She was wanted to go tell the step-mothers and sisters tat they could not tear it this time. They where so into character yelling at each other and stomping their feet that she would not take a picture with all 3.

There was hardly any wait to see the princesses..

There was also different characters out like the little Einsteins. I would definitely go again.

Oops forgot to post the Cinderella picture..

The only bad part of the night was when we got stuck on Soarin, but that could happen on any day.

stuck on Soarin? what happened?

stuck on Soarin? what happened?

I think we might have had a new person. We were all set to go in our assigned seats, seat belts fastened and then...nothing. So we sat there seat belted in as she made frantic phone calls. And still nothing. They finally decide to move us to a different theater but now they could not unfasten the seat belts. More frantic phone calls. Once they did unfasten our belts they moved us down the hall but did not communicate this to the other CM's. So they had us in the exit but we had to wait for that theater to go through 2 cycles before they loaded us in. ll together it took about an hour and a half. That became our last ride of the night.

Hello. I found my way from the wdw board. I'm from CA and have never been to this event. DD is 9. Will the rides also be opened?

Okay, as long as we're on the Mickey's trick-or-treating topic:

1.) Which rides do you get to go on with one of these tickets-- just the ones in CA Adventure, or...?

2.) What else do you really get for the price? DJs and "rare"-character interaction sound good, but c'mon: $100 for a family of 4? What are the real perks?

3) What ages of kids does this event work best for? Why?

4.) What have been your bad experineces or biggest criticisms of how it's gone before? Be honest-- no gripe is too small! ;-)

Hi, hope I can answer some of your questions:
1) You are only allowed access to DCA. They do not have all the rides operating during the event, so only the ones they chose for that specific night. The lines are much, much shorter than normal becuase most people, especially with young children, are trick or treating and dancing with characters.

2) The price of the ticket is for your entry to the limited number of people allowed in the park. There are several trick or treat stations, and the CMs load you up too!! There are the dance parties with DJs that you mentioned, all sorts of characters, not just rare ones, a small parade, short lines on attractions, carnival-style games, and more.

3)When we went last year, I had DS8, DS4, and DS2. They all had a great time. My kids were all basically dressed as "one of kinds", and they all loved the attention they got. (DS2 was Jiminy Cricket, DS4 was Sulley, and DS8 was a skeleton helmsman pirate). They all enjoyed the candy of course. They liked seeing the characters out dancing with the kids. Over near the Monsters Inc ride, we saw Sulley, Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and someone else, cant remember who. They did that little dance with the kids where you hold on to the person in front of yuos hips , etc, they did hula hop contests, and other activites. In Sunshine Plaza, we saw Flik, Atta, and Remy. In front of CA Screams (aka CA Dreams) we saw tons of villians.

4)The only disappointment to me was the parade, it sucked to put it lightly. There was 1 float, if thats what you want to call it. Just the classic characters in their costumes, and I dont remember what song was playing. The whole parade was like 3 minutes.

All in all, we enjoyed the party, and are doing it again this year, but we are skipping out on the parade. They should have at least put the villians in the parade.

HTH!! PM me if you have more questions
