I understand that Mickey's Backyard BBQ is only on at certain times of the year. Can anybody tell me where I can find out when it is on?

Thanks for this. My Brother in Law has his birthday while we are out in Florida and he wanted to go for a character meal without using one of our days in Disney. Has anyone been to this BBQ. What was it like? I notice that it starts at 6.30 pm. Does anybody know what time it finishes (or how long do they serve unlimited free beer).

Any info would be appreciated.

I went to this in 1998 and was very disappointed. The food was good but mostly meat - I suppose that's what you'd expect from a BBQ.

There was beer, coke or other soda (I don't remember which).

The entertainment was a country band and line dancing. There were a few games outside for the kids - knocking things over with balls type, fairly rustic. I think there was some other entertainment but it wasn't too memorable.

The characters were the best part, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale dressed up in Wild West outfits. Minnie danced with the children and all waited round for photos.

We were very bored and went to get the bus back to the car park and had to wait ages.

The evening was made worse by the fact we had booked via Virgin and all of the guests were British giving it more of a Butlins feel than Disney.

If there is a crowd of you who enjoy line dancing you'd probably have a good time but my family didn't really enjoy it.
