My kids will be 10 and 8, will they enjoy the BBQ as much as Hoop Dee Doo, or will the BBQ be a little disappointing? We are trying to decide weather or not to do both, or just Hoop Dee Doo again (which they LOVED!)

Really depends on your kids, I guess. We took DS(7) and DS(3) last year and they both loved it. The food was simple but tasty, the noise level high, lots of space and opportunity for dancing and watching roping etc. Tons of character interaction and all 'round just a good time ! Never having tried HDDR, I can't compare, just recommend the BBQ !

I'm glad you wrote this - I was coming on here to ask the same question! If we do it we'll probably do it the night after Hoop-Dee-Doo so I don't know if it will be too much of a good thing!

I personally think they will absolutely love the BBQ. Alot more interaction and the show is character centered - a definite plus for kids.

Thanks guys, we don't do the dining plan and I think we will skip Hoop Dee Doo and go for the BBQ! I think both of them along with the Royal table, Ohana, Chef Mickey's is too much.

CM told me yesturday that the BBQ is not available on Saturdays (for May), so we booked for Thursday. Anyone else get this answer?

Hi, I have been getting different answers from different website regarding when you can book Mickey's Backyrd BBq, is it 365 days? I have read this on a site that has a adr booking calculator. Anyone know if this is good info?

Hi! I'm booked for the BBQ on Dec 20 (a Thurs)! I am very excited. We've done the HDDR many times and it is a favorite of my kiddos; this is a first for the BBQ! I have read somewhere that the BBQ is only on certain nights. Luckily, I wanted a Thursday anyway. I also understand it is a seasonal thing. Maybe as the weather warms up they add days?
