Could someone tell me a little about this? Is it worth the money spent or the use of 2TS credits? Food...good or bad? We've done the Spirit of Aloha at Polynesian and Hoop-dee-Doo, but not Backyard BBQ yet. We really enjoyed the other two especially HDD. If you have experienced Mickey's BBQ I'd like t to hear about it, good or bad. Thanks!!

I guess this is not a very popular event since noway has posted yet. Has anyone been to Mickey's Backyard BBQ?

You didn't say if you have kids or not. If it's just adults it is not worth it. The food was horrible (it seemed like leftovers from the HDDR), and it wasn't out very long.

But if you have kids who love the characters then it is definitly worth it. We will do it again just for the kids. They get so much interaction with the kids, it's basically nonstop dancing w/the characters. Very stressful for the parents who have to keep track of the kids, but the kids ha a blast!

Never been there myself, but my 2 year old cousin and her parents did it, her parents said she went absolutely crazy and had a total blast with the characters and the food was good, but nothing special.

My family loved it... we were in a big group (15 people) The kids loved dancing with the characters... it almost seemed like a fun wedding reception with Disney charaters. Food was not good (IMHO... but I am not that crazy about B-que, I just thought there would be other stuff too)

My friend went at a different time and she thought it wasn't great and wouldn't go again... not at all the experience I had she said it was not enough time with the characters they basically signed books and left... I wonder if she didn't stay until they came back out after their break.

We have an 8 year-old daughter. Thanks for replying. I'm still undecided at this point. Were you there this year or recently? I have heard a mixed review. We're already doing 3 Character's meals, Cape May for breakfast, Chef Mickey's for breakfast, and 1900 Park Fare for dinner, along with Ohana's one night and WCC one night for dinner so we may just cancel our ADR for Backyard BBQ. I've got time to think it over a bit longer. Thanks for replying though, I really appreciate all the reviews and opinions for everyone!

We were there in Sept 04. We were going to go back in Sept 05, but family came up to see us and we didn't want to make them pay for it as well. It is only a couple times a week in the fall so we couldn't do it again. Like I said the character interaction was awesome. My kids were 1.5 and 3.5 at the time and they had the best time. Every trip my older on asks if we can do the BBQ.

We did Chef Mickey's last August and it was awesome. It is on my must do list now. The food was very good, the character interaction was good too.

We went in July 2003 and never wanted to go back again. We felt for the money it wasn't worth it. I'd never do it for two credits when there are so many better 2 ts restaurants. Food was just okay but there was no system. My kids were younger and I felt like they might be trampled on as it was a free for all. Maybe we just had a bad experience but we never wanted to go back.

We went in September,4 adults 4 kids. All enjoyed it very much. The food was good and the show was good.It was a large crowd but not so much you couldn't move.We enjoy the country music and a good bbq.If country theme is something you enjoy I say you would like this.

We have done it twice. Our kids always have the best time. I have to admit, the food is not great, but the freeflowing beer and wine make up for that. We always take the bus back to our hotel, so I never worry about having a few drinks. The music is great, the character interaction is fabulous, and I agree with an above post, it is like a really fun wedding reception.
