Is that right? I read on wdwinfo on the resorts page about Mickey's Backyard BBQ. It says unlimited beer, wine, lemonade and iced tea. Seriously? Unlimited beer and wine is included in the price? Is this at typo or true?

This is the description:
As the name suggests, it includes everything you'd find at a barbecue/picnic, with carnival type games, food, music, dancing, storytelling and best of all, visits from Disney characters. The all-you-can-eat food includes BBQ pork ribs, baked chicken, hot dogs with all the fixin's, corn-on-the-cob, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, corn bread, watermelon, marble cake. Unlimited draft beer, wine, lemonade, and iced tea.

Yes, dinner shows include unlimited beer and wine. The beer is Bud Light and the wine is whatever the house wine is (HDDR also has unlimited sangria)

Judging by the number of people walking around with 2-3 glasses of beer when we went in Nov, the description is right. I would imagine though they reserve the right to not serve you if you became intoxicated and a problem.

I can't speak to the BBQ but at both HDDR and the Luau when we asked for a second drink we got "the look" when we asked for a third we felt like we had grown horns, and it took forever to get. I, a grown woman with two children - on holiday - actually felt guilty and made DH order the third one for both of ue. I can't imagine anyone getting inebriated to the point of being declined at either.

I find it very difficult to get intoxicated on Bud or Bud Light.... BUT...
at Hoop-De-Doo, the waitress had the beer a flowing... I joked that I wanted a different mug, that mine must be defective or have a hole in it because it was gone already -- Waitress, in HDD style, brought a full pitcher and mugs and slammed them on the table! Backyard BBQ, you go to a table where a bartender is and get your own beer/wine. I can't remember if they gave pitchers there --- would be nice for a family so you don't have to keep getting up. Spirit of Aloha - our waiter brought 2 beers at a time before I even finished one.

Aside from that, Animal Kingdom Park has very good draft beer (not bud/light). Other than AK and Epcot, I was surprised that most of the restaurants only had bottle beer - which I don't care for much.

:confused3 Just goes to prove that on the DisBoards, which is also true with the weather forecast, if you don't like what you're hearing, check with someone else :santa:

Same here getting refils was near enough impossible.

We just made resevations for our trip in June ...

Does anyone know if the menu posted on the dis home page is up to date ... seems weird to have all you can eat BBQ without any mashed potatoes (just corn and baked beans.)

The unlimited draft beer and wine is just what the Dr. ordered for our vacation :cool1::cool1::cool1:

In November at the bbq you got your non alchol drinks from kegs yourself & the beer/wine from a bartender. Just walked up & asked. 1 was enough for me but had about 4 mickey head ice cream bars, lol.

The only good thing about Bud light is that it has less Bud in it than the regular.

I can never understand why that junk sells at all, but being a Canadian, I guess I'm spoiled. Not as much as Brits, but close.

Gosh, we were just there Thanksgiving & can't remember. Must have been all those mickey bars.:rotfl: Ribs, hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans,& corn I remember. And dd found some pumpkin pie also. Or maybe sweet potato pie. Anyway it was orange, lol. Condiments were on the table and maybe I overlooked it (and I did look), but could find no 'toppings' for the burgers. Just the condiments on the table. Would have liked to have had some lettuce/tomato/onion/pickles. But the ribs were delish.

In June 2009, HDDR served mashed potatoes. No corn. I would guess everything comes out of the same kitchen so you might ask.
