Of course not. I've heard it all before. I'm the first one to bash them when deserved. Buses are not for everyone. They are what they are. If you don't have a vehicle, it's cabs or buses. If you do, you should use it. In most cases cars are better if speed and flexibility are your priorities.

My 12 year old son just said to me.. "mom with your sense of direction, the buses were still quicker.." They dont believe me when I say our GPS is possessed by a demon.. but I swear I could see the red eyes glowing!!

Absolutely not. If I know they are, they will not get on my bus. It's my call.

If the Disney bus drivers are actually telling people that they'd rather have drunk people drive themselves on Disney property than get on the bus, that's unfortunate and dangerous.

And I'm not talking about belligerent drunk, I'm talking about a few glasses of wine/two beers with dinner.

The purpose of designated drivers is to have a *definite* someone who is not drinking (in this case, the bus driver) drive you home.

You can't tell me that the people being brought home from Downtown Disney at 2AM are sober?

Should everyone drive? That's dangerous. Should they all get into cabs? That's an elitist attitude.

Not everyone who drinks alcohol becomes a belligerent drunk. But most of us are responsible enough not to want to get behind the wheel and potentially get into an accident.

Did you turn everyone away during the Food and Wine festival, or simply not bid the Epcot route? Because most everyone on those buses had had one or two drinks (especially at night) and was thankful for the designated driver.

I agree!! I NEVER have a drink with dinner when out at home cause Rick does, and somebody has to drive. I probably drink more than I should at WDW cause I KNOW that I'll have a ride home.

In MBs defense though, if someone is a problem drunk then Orange County should be dealing with them, not the Disney bus driver.

I agree with this too. I know I for one like to have a drink or six when I'm on vacation,,but I don't think anyone should have to deal with a drunk.
I've been there,,heck, I was one of'em,,and it's not a pretty sight, not for those who have to deal with the drinkers or be responsible for the comfort and safety of others around the drinkers.

Buses are also for those who are inebriated, or planning to be. Won't happen at MK, but Epcot, HS, AK, Downtown Disney...

Now if you are just talking about someone who has had a drink and doesn't want to drive, wine with dinner or a beer or two, fine....I am assuming they are still acting in a somewhat reasonable manner.

This is not the place for this discussion but I felt that I needed to respond. First of all, I resent your implication that I am not the bus driver that I should be. I have not had to refuse anyone for being drunk yet and I'm sure I've had lots of passengers that had two drinks. You know full well what I'm talking about. You wrote inebriated. If you look up the definition, that's not two drinks. No where in my job description does it say that I have to put up with the true definition of a drunk. Would you take that job if it did? Your assumption that we want them to drive instead is ridiculous. It's their responsibility to arrange for transportation if they plan to get smashed, not Disneys.

So taking a cab now is elitist, amazing. To me that's taking resposibility for your own actions.

I happen to agree with you on this one Magic Bus, you should have the right to deny passage to someone who puts you in a situation where you may not be focused on driving, if someone has had enough to draw attention to themselves then of course your focus will be on that person and maybe not so much on the roads. The drivers on those buses have a huge responsiblity on their shoulders to transport passengers safely around a area different than most. THis past trip to disney I saw things that made me go "hmmm.." example, kids riding the bikes on roads un supervised, people driving golf carts like they were stock cars and just general disregard for their area. That's human nature, your at the happiest place on earth and people tend to get "to comfortable" (myself included).

I would love to leave the TT home and tent camp at the Fort in Oct 2011 for a quick trip! Way to go on that!

Love the one socked kiddo. My youngest has tried to "lose" his shoes more times than I care to count.

Even more I love your southern spunk...I'd have probably reacted the same way to the jerk in the photo line. Ugh!

this was my first camping trip and I learned ALOT. I'm putting together a "LESSONS LEARNED POST" that will have just that.. alot of things I learned, alot of things I think I did right and a whole of bunch of things I'll do different. It's also going to have my packing list which is "kid friendly"

Here it's the opposite. Poor DH is definitely both one of those "gets lost in a paper bag" AND "refuses to ask for directions" people.
