Mickey Very Merry Christmas Party Reviews

Does this event sell out fast? Can I wait to get them at the park?

We'll be there December third for our first visit during the Christmas Season. 66 days til our 6 am flight! (Which means up at 2 am to leave...Uggg to that)

The last party will likely sell out. With the rest of the parties you can most likely wait until you get there, but you don't need to buy them at the park. If you're staying on property, you can buy them at your resort.

We felt the event was so so last year.

That being said I just purchased our tickets for this year. Giving it a second chance. When we went last year it was so busy it was ridiculous.

Just curious, what day did you go last year? I am thinking about going early December on a Tuesday b/c I wouldn't think that would be a super crowded day.

I've never been to the party but it sounds like it may be something worth doing. :)

I read another comment about being able to get in at 4pm for really short/no lines for attractions. What time does the park close for guests not attending the party?

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone had reviews on this event. :santa:

Is it worth buying the extra ticket?

Does anyone have tips on view the parades/shows?

Are there special characters to take pictures with?

Thank you! :tink:

I really liked this event, but after going to MNSSHP last year, I was disappointed in it.

The first year we went we had the best time & the decor & main St felt like a Christmas wonderland, this last year not all the decorations were up & the wreaths were not up either, it didn't have the same feeling.

It is worth checking it out, I love holiday wishes.

I have read several different posts of when to buy the tickets. Some say to wait until we get there to check on the weather. Then I read that sometimes dates sell out. We are looking at December 5th. Any ideas?

Noob question. can you get in with just the xmas party ticket, or do you have to also have a MYW pass or daily tix for the park? We are doing wknd trip and just wanted to attend the party and hang at our resort. If we could ride some attractions while doing the party, then it is a bonus for the price. Thanks.

I took a chance with 12/1. Hoping the Thanksgiving crowds will be heading home, and the locals won't be there due to school the next day. However seems like there are a TON of people going the first week of December so I am expecting really crowded. Will see....never done the party but very excited for it. Hubby is driving at the WDW speedway at 10am, then we will get lunch, relax and head over around 3:45. We have a 4:00 ressie so hoping we can get in a little early with our park ticket and get to CP in time. I heard you can be late by 15 minutes...so we will see.

So excited for our December trip......we have only been one time before and that was late April 2012. :santa:

Xmas party ticket is good from 7pm to 12pm.

If you want to go during the day you have to purchase another ticket.

We did the party several years ago. We did notice a lot of people without the special bands. My daughter who now works at Disney and she says it is monitored better. So, yes it is a fun time.

In booking our ADR's 150 days ago (only 30 days till our trip!), I made a 7pm dinner reservation at Ohana for thursday Nov. 14, our last night of vacation. The plan at the time was to spend the day at AK, go ack to the hotel to pack/rest, head to poly to eat, then head down to the poly beach to watch the MVMCP fireworks from there. We opted not to get party tix- by then, I figured our DD's, ages 5 and 3, would be exhausted from a week's worth of rope drop, all day park visits (They refuse to nap at wdw). the money for one night of party paid for a chunk of Dining plan, which is giving us lots of character meals etc.

A few days ago our travel agent ( my new BFF :) passed on to us two adult tickets to the party for that night. She says she can no longer use them and didn't want them to go to waste. I of course said we'd be delighted to have them, but now have a bunch of things to resolve:

1) Will I likely be able to get two child tickets for the party if I wait until Wed of that week, to let me assess the stamina remaining in the girls?
2) Given that Grandparents are traveling at WDW with us, would it be fun enough for adults to have DH and I go to the party and let the girls have a sleepover with grammie and grandpa? I'm pretty sure that the grandparents won't want the added expense, or value a super late park night given the long drive home they've got the next day.
3) Given the DH needs almost as much sleep as our three year old per night, do you think I'd be able to take the two adult tickets and go with DD5? Since the adult ticket is worth more, I'd be taking a loss on cost so I'd think they wouldn't complain too much. If I were to try to get DH in with a kid ticket, different story?
4) I do want us to have a nice family meal for our last night. But if we're going to be in the party, I want to get the most out of that. What advice can you give for dinner timing? Would it be smarter to have an early dinner with everyone over at AK, then part ways? Suggestions? Have to call in and cross fingers, but it'd be good to know what I'm seeking.
5)We'll have had an afternoon and a full day at MK already, and the plan was to return the Friday morning for a last round of fun before flying home. Wondering what you'd suggest as priorities during the party.

this is my list- any thoughts much appreciated!
