mickey themed birthday party ideas

hi everyone! we are leaving for disney in 3 weeks. and when we get back my son wants to have a mickey themed birthday party. has anyone done this? have any cute ideas for decorating or party themes? he will be 5. i think we are going to make cupcakes and put them in a cupcake tower and try and buy some little plastic mickey and friend characters at the world to put on top of them -- and then probably get a mickey pinata -- any other cute ideas? thanks a million!

We just had a Mickey party for DS in August. It was his 3rd birthday.

Here are some pics. My sister made the cake and the cupcakes for us.

I made these invites.

DS's younger cousin also had a Mickey Birthday and sent us huge Mickey ear mylar balloons. Sorry, no pics of those.

For Laila's Minnie party last year we did the Mickey shaped Rice Krispie treats like you get at WDW. We used the Mickey cookie cutters and stuffed teh mix in and then put them on sticks and put them out with our chocolate fountain and an assortment of sprinkles, candy, crushed cookies etc. Everyone had a blast making their own Mickey treat! ( Pretty messy too!!)

We did all her cups, plates, balloons in black white and red- and I made a super cute Mickey/Minnie head wreath using one flat styrofoam disc and two smaller ball shapes for ears. I covered mine with spanish moss. Lots of people commented on it- and it set the theme from when they first knocked on the door.

We also had some fun Disney music- my favorite is the Mickey Splashdance record I had as a kid!
