Why does it cost nearly $20 more for Friday nights than other days?

And even more for Oct 29 and Oct 31?

What is different?

Disney is a company, in the buisness of making money. To my knowledge, there is no difference in the parties other than the dates. More people are going to want to go to a Halloween party if it's actually on Halloween. Also, there are a TON of locals who have jobs and can't go to a party on a weeknight and then function productively on the next day. So the demand for party tickets increases for weekends and near Halloween. The bigger the increase, the more money to be made. Also, having a cheaper option during the week helps thin out the crowds from the weekend option. Many would rather pay less for the same thing so they work out their schedule so they can attend a less expensive party.

Yes, it is tiered pricing based on demand. I was disappointed that the party on Oct.12 has the same pricing for advanced purchase and gate, but I guess that's a very popular date, so what can you do?

This is similar to the recent trend of tiered pricing for sporting events. Many MLB teams, for example, are now charging extra for tickets when teams like the Yankees or Red Sox are visiting.

Oh yea, silly me. I forgot about the power of the almighty dollar.

We'll be in the parks for 10 days in October. I know many people LOVE the party, but we will skip it. On party days we'll just head over to DCA with all the others not going. Or relax at the hotel. Or maybe even venture out and see other things. I love having so many days where we can keep the options open.

We'll be there in Oct. too and will likely skip the party. We might do one if you could use a day of a 5-day PH for it, but not for that much extra per person.

Last time we were there was last Spring Break (2011) and on Fri. night it got kind of a high schooler party atmosphere and it was so obnoxious. I'd hate to re-live that, complete with high price of entry.

What was that neon light bedazzled party that used to be at DCA at night? I never really got into that, either, and it was free. Or the WDW nightclub party thing... Pleasure Island or whatever. Just seemed like an excuse to sell weak, overpriced cocktails and glowy souvenirs. (Bah humbug.)

They have The Mad T Party in DCA which I thought was quite fun.

I know Its a money maker, but we cant help it! we love it:dance3:, we have been going twice for the last two years at WDW. This will be no different:cool1:. We will be there the 2nd and 5th of Oct. I think it comes down to what matters to you and your Family and at the end of the day that's what matters.

I think you're referring to Electronica which was replaced by the Mad T Party last spring.
Not my thing, either. While I love the parks and wish I lived where I could visit more regularly, its not necessary for me to shell out more $$$ than I already do for all the extras, including overpriced drinks and special parties. From all I've read about the Halloween parties, there's not much more to it than more characters out and about, trick-or-treating, and....hmm thats all I can think of. I'm sure its great for people who love to dress up and get in the (not so) spooky spirit, but just not my thing.

I think I was thinking of Glowfest. Was there a nighttime party in DCA called that? I think it was around the time WOC first opened? It was kinda cute, and I do like the idea of street parties but something about them just sorta always falls flat for me. Probably the prices. I can't turn off the financial analyst scrooge in me. :upsidedow
