I think the Emporium is where my first ever Mickey watch (as a toddler) came from. Then, I used to collect Mickey/Disney watches (from the parks, from Cast Members' exclusives, from the
Disney Store, wherever) like a
fiend back in the '90s - I can't even tell you how much $$$ I spent on watches because I lost track. It was an impractical, costly habit (hey, some folks did drugs; I bought Disney watches!). I would know exactly which stores to go to to get the ones I would like.
The Gag Factory in ToonTown used to sell some really cute, whimsical watches. I may be wrong, but I don't think I even saw one watch in the Gag Factory the last time I was in there. The old New Century Timepieces on Main Street was a good source for watches at one point and I bought many there, but now that it is the Fortuosity Shop, it is not the same. I did find a couple of cute,
inexpensive watches in the Fortuosity Shop, however, when I was there last year in December. BUT, these cute Mickey watches were not sold behind a counter or in a glass case. We found them on shelves tucked into little baskets or containers with other items. They were in long plastic-type boxes, and they came in different colors. There were also a few of them hanging from hooks against the wall. I almost got one (and I thought I shook the watch habit years ago!! Darn!). So if you do go into Fortuosity or any other shop, keep your eyes open because some random watches may be hidden on shelves or in places you wouldn't expect, and
not always in cases or hanging on one of the turning displays (like in the Tomorrowland shops).
Also, check more unique stores like Disneyana on Main Street or Off the Page in DCA. They don't have large watch selections, but sometimes they will carry
one really cool watch!!
