Hi everyone!

I thought the DVC group would be the place to ask this somewhat strange question...

We are adopting a new golden retriever puppy in 2 weeks - Yay! (We lost our 13 year old golden while we were at WDW in April, 2008) I am on the lookout for a pet tag that has either a picture of Mickey on the front, or is Mickey shaped.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

Thanks!

so sorry for the loss of your first golden....and congrats on your new puppy...when we were at disney in august there were machines in the parks where you could make a tag...i don't remember if one was mickey shaped...since our pup is a girl and we got her a heart shaped tag with tinkerbell on it

We've bought several dog tags at WDW. Our Cocker has a more traditional painted face Mickey head (although we were disapointed they no longer had the all-black mickey head shape). They now have the engraving vending machines in many locations, but most are geared towards people instead of pets. Different machines will have different tags. If you do not find one you like in the parks, check out the pet-type store in DTD (I think that is between the Pooh store and "everything under $10")

We just made three - one for our dog Dory and one for each of my sister's dogs. They have machines spread around the parks and shops. You just have to keep looking and you'll find a machine with the style you like. When we were there, we saw two that were Mickey shaped - one had an American flag on the front and the engraving was on the back. The other style has Mickey's face painted (black, red, and white colors) and then a silver back for the engraving. All styles are $10 each. We found the style we liked at the DTD shop that used to be the "pet" store, but now just has a small section of pet supplies. The machine is on the inside. We later saw the same style somewhere else, but now I can't remember where. There are many varieties, so you might want to "browse" before you do it unless you know exactly what you want. (Which it sounds like you do!:goodvibes)

Sorry for the loss of your first, but I am happy you are starting over with a new puppy. Enjoy it!

Perfect! That is exactly what I needed - I want the traditional painted Mickey. I'll pick one up when we go down in March...

:) I am pretty sure they were about $10. We got the Minni red heart shaped one for our female Jack. It has lasted two years and the engraving still looks great.

there are machines in several spots in the parks and some have diffrent ones in them
they were $10
now just an off shot but we got our pluto one for pluto at petco in the machine they had there
we did this as it was several months till we would be going to disney when we got pluto

We got our Chocolate Labrador puppy one at Disney Quest. It was ten dollars for the Mickey head. The only thing that got me mad  was that the paint is peeling off and it hasn't been that long since I got it. Congratulations  on your puppy and sorry about your loss .

We purchased the mickey head tag for our dog from a machine at Boardwalk on our last village. As I recall it is on the boardwalk near the hot dog stand

There is one in Epcot up by the Garden Grill, in the pavilion where Soaring is.

alittle off topic but sorry about your puppy but a new one is great. My daughter got a new golden 1 1/2 years ago and I got a cute princess collar at Epcot Mousegears for like 10 and it was sooo cute , they also have a black and red mickey collar too but since she was a girl we got the pink princess one. good luck. :lovestruc
