Mickey Mouse Attraction

I've always wondered "why doesn't Disney devote some serious time and effort toward creating an attraction completely devoted to Mickey Mouse?" Now, I realize that Philharmagic has the Mickey name attached to it, but as we all know, it's Donald Duck's attraction. Of course, Phantasmic features (among others) Mickey, but it's not a true ride-based attraction.

It just seems that they have touched on The Mouse in many areas, but continually fall short in regard to Mickey. I understand that it's simply one of those "dream ideas," but wouldn't we all love to experience a Mickey Mouse attraction with the random variety of Tower of Terror, the charm of the Peter Pan ride, the scope of the Haunted Mansion and the excitement + scale of Splash Mountain? In my opinion, Mickey deserves nothing less...

I agree with the OP... I would love to add a ride maybe including Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto...

Thanks for the Mickey Mouse Review information - interesting "blast from the past." I still believe that they should develop something more ride oriented and focusing on Mickey and perhaps his immediate core group o' pals, rather than having him act as an MC or host to a larger attraction. It's strange that they haven't considered doing something like this, which would surely be HUGE with visitors!

I am sure I am in a great minority here, but Mickey is my least favorite character! My kids never liked him either. We always loved Pluto, and Mickey is so mean to Pluto in so many cartoons!

I'm hoping that a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, modeled after the show, will be built in Toontown Fair. My kids watch that show religiously! I first thought of it as just another silly show for kids but quickly realized that it's GREAT that they're bringing classic characters into modern times so that one never forgets the group of characters that started it all!

I agree.

A Mickey something - from start to current would be cool. A 20 minute or so attraction where you sit in something similar to SE and see Mickey and Walt. Not One Man's Dream, but a real attraction. Maybe even with some Donald, Pluto, b&w toons...something....maybe even a mini thrill - small hills, little curves, but not too much to where you miss anything!

I agree, I thinkl it would be cool to have a ride that followed mickey through his various incarnations over the years, That would be cool. On the other hand Disney does allow you to walk through Mickey and Minnies house and has a great deal of mickey theming in Mickey's Toon Town Fair at MK. Personally my favorite character was always Uncle Scrooge. You think its hard to find Mickey the character, try to find him. :sad2:

You have no idea how great it is to hear others agree, that Mickey deserves better treatment in "his" Kingdom! I love the Staceship Earth concept, and was also thinking of something like "Mickey Through the Years." Imagine starting with the Steamboat era and progressing through the WWII days, past the 50s and into the 21st century! Now, if we're compiling a Imagineers "Wish List" here, how about adding in a variant, such as at Tower of Terror? Every time you ride it, it's a little bit different. Of course, that would eliminate the track ride concept from Spaceship Earth, but after all, The Mouse deserves the best!

OK Disney, take the ball and run... :wizard:

It's my understanding that on the cruise ship there is a dining room that goes from black and white to color...that would be a neat variation on Mickey's history. I also would vote for a boat...kids love boats. Maybe a boat that turns into a plane than into a car....hmmmm the ride could be "traveling through the years" and there could be cartoons with Mickey's history along with headlines of the day for the adults to reference...

I believe there was a concept for a Mickey themed dark ride for DL, but it was never built.

I would love some kind of roller coaster/themed ride that goes through the history of Mickey Mouse. Make it very historical and full of info, but then have it be a thrilling, roller coaster type ride. You could put it where Millionare was in MGM.

I just keep coming back to the thought that if they build it, the attraction needs to be huge (in terms of scope) and fitting for their founding mouse!

I agree. I think a Mickey Mouse attraction would be awesome. I'd be even more thrilled if it included Donald and Daisy (my personal faves), but I would understand if it was only devoted to Mickey. I like the ideas that have been posted. I'd want it to be an actual ride, but I'm not sure a thrill ride would the right way to go. Maybe a slower ride with a few drops or something but not a roller coaster. I don't know. I'll leave that up to Disney. :teeth:

I really agree with this. After all, Mickey is the Big Cheese. If it wasn't for Mickey, where would we all be. :mickeyjum :mickeyjum :mickeyjum

Mickey does have his own house in Toontown. I know it's not much but it's a hoot to walk through.

Does anyone else have feedback on this, or information on the ride that was planned at DL?
