Anyone ever been into the Mickey Mart in Downtown Disney? I've heard that everything is ten dollars or less there. I'm all about bargains, so I thought I'd give this a try!

I read somewhere that you can get grab bags for like six dollars. Anyone have a clue as to what's in these bags? Or has anyone ever been into the store and maybe could tell me where I find it in DTD or what's available to purchase?

Just wondering if this is worth my time...

Sorry, but that store closed last month.

You can probably still find lots of things for under $10 at the different shops in DtD. you'll just have to look a little bit hard because those $10 & under items will be scattered among the $70 hoodies and $35 pajama pants.

Oh, darn! Color me disappointed!

I have never shyed away from a bargain hunt, so I guess that is what I will do.

Thanks so much for the info. At least now I don't have to waste my time looking for a store that isn't there.

Bless you!

Bummer! I got some cool stuff there last time. I loved the old Character Warehouse/Character Premiere stores in the Prime outlets. They were being redone on our last trip and I wonder if they're still the bargain hunter's dream that they used to be...

The $10 and under shop was open last week at DTD. It carries items that are always $10 and under as well as items that are discounted to be $10 and under. They still sold the grab bags as well.

Really?

Well, I have ADR's for House of Blues, so I might just attempt to find this store and see what I can see! I would be happy if this store were still open. We go in three weeks :cheer2:

Do you know what's in those grab bags, by chance? I think I'd like to buy one for DS4, if they come with age appropriate items.

I don't know what's in the grab bags but I think they separate them for boy and girl.

This store is between Pooh Corner and Goofy's Candy Co. on the Marketplace side (just in case you didn't know since HoB is on the West Side).

Thank you - I was wondering how far away it was from HoB. We'll find it!

I think I'll get one of those grab bags and let you all know what's in it, (in case anyone else was wondering).

There are some bargains in that store, but not many. A lot of the stuff can be found in any store at WDW.

We love this store - we get one of the grab bags every visit! They are usually a good deal. Of course you never know exactly what you are going to get but for us it has been a number of souvenir type items that we usually use for cousin/friend gifts. The one we got a couple of months ago had both boy and girl items. I would think most would be appropriate for a 4 year old.

Really? They were in the process of closing it when I was there in early January. Maybe I misunderstood the CM that I spoke with? It wouldn't be the first time...

I haven't bought one in few years but I've gotten:
Antena toppers, Autograph books, Pens, Disney Racers, Lanyard, Stickers, postcards, diary type book. I thought it was worth price paid myself.

We were at the store at the end of January and it was open. I do remember reading before my trip that it was closed. Maybe when they run low on inventory they close?

Anyhow we bought one grab bag. I think it was $6.00 and we felt several before chosing one. All felt like they had a mug. We got a plastic cup with liquid inbetween the inside and outside of the cup with a disney theme, the kind a child would drink from-about 8 ounces. It also came from a magentic notepad with the year 2008 on it (we were there in January, 09) a small tiny stuffed animal, pink pirate eye patch with pirate earring of some sort (according the dd11) and a pen.

It's a small store but yes everything is $10 and under. It is a lot of $10 exactly things though. It's next to Pooh Corner.

The grab bags were still there this weekend for $6.99. It varies what is in there but it's basically left overs. My dd bought one for fun and got 2 key chains, 1 note pad of princess paper and 1 tink photo album. The retail on everything in there ranged from $5-9.00. She was happy but I don't know if it was stuff I would have paid full price for at all. I love the photo album though. :confused3

They closed the store on January 11th (we were there January 10th, then went back the next night and everything was being shrinkwrapped and taken down :scared1: ).

When we went back to DTD the night before we flew home (January 15th)....voila! It was open again.

So glad you asked this! I'd also read that it was closed and was bummed that I wouldn't be able to go. We're going next weekend so I might also get a grab bag - one for each of the boys (my two and friend's son). Between three grab bags each of them should find something they like and they'll have some left overs:goodvibes

Their 4/10 dollars section can have some great deals in it.

One year we got Elvis Stitch that my son wanted from the year before.

Dicontinued Mugs and Hats

Last trip we got Mickey Tennis Balls and some scrapbooking supplies.

These grab bags sound like you get more than what you paid for it. I will DEFINITELY be buying one!

I would love to get an autograph book for DS4, so perhaps we'll go the first day before we meet the characters. Maybe I'll get lucky and the grab bags will have one inside! :yay:

Thank you all for posting what your bags had. This information is really quite helpful...:disrocks:

Keep your fingers crossed that they don't close this store within the next three weeks...

Thank you! We had been there on 1/09/09. I guess I'm not losing my mind as much as I'd thought!

I'm glad to hear this didn't close...I love this store! I got some great deals there in september in their 4 for 10 section. I don;t remember seeing the grab bags, I'll have to look for that next time!
