Does anyone have this luggage set? It looks so cute but I am worried that the large bag will not be big enough to hold a weeks worth of clothing? Anyone have any input?? thanks!

I just ordered a set for DS, but it hasn't gotten here yet...if it gets in today, I'll let you know.

I have that set, and I'm actually in the process of packing the big one right now. I have 9 pairs of capris, 11 tshirts, two pairs of sandals, a ton of undies, a swimsuit, my pretty big makeup bag and about 10 hangers. Plenty of room!

Hi,
Just thought I would share my experience with the Disney Store luggage. We got a set as a wedding gift in November (2006) so we used it for our honeymoon to WDW in December. We took magical express so we didn't see the luggage until we got in the room later inthe day. One of the wheels on the big suitcase snapped right off! Needless to say this made it very hard to pull so poor DH had to carry it through the airport to the check in counter for our flight home. So when we tried to get the wheel fixed but no one could do it because of where it broke off. So when we went on vacation in the summer (2007) we just used the other pieces and a rolling duffel we bought. Well the luggage did not do to well on the flight from Vegas to Chicago because more things had broken, namely the plastic lining that gives the suitcase its shape. When I lifted it off the conveyor belt I heard a crack and realized that the handle had broken off from the suitcase and was hanging by the fabric. Then when we went to put it in the car everywhere I touched just crumbled under my finger until there were no whole pieces left.
So basically the luggage disintegrated after just two trips. I just wanted to warn you in case the quality had not improved. And to answer your actual question the large suitcase is very roomy.

Glad to hear this!! Now, the harder decision, what color to order!!! :)

I bought a set for our trip last year and love it!

A reminder to all that airline baggage handlers do not treat luggage gently. My brother works at Logan APO here in Boston and said he would NEVER check anything but cheap luggage after seeing how bags are thrown around.
To the PP who said she had problems with her set, it may have been due to rough handling.

It's funny that this post just occurred, since I am throwing out the last piece of my mickey luggage today! The smaller rollaboard's handle repeatedly got stuck and wouldn't extend. The zipper was flimsy. The larger piece certainly carried enough clothes, but the inside liner just crumbled. It was VERY poorly made luggage and I'm disappointed, because I loved the design.

My DSIS has this luggage too, and it did not hold up for her either. She has only used it a few times and the seams are coming apart and the material is fraying. It is very cute, but not made well.

The wheel snapped on my large suitcase our first trip also......I know they don't take a lot of care in handling the luggage - but I would think it would make it past one trip.

We have the disney luggage as well as my mom. We both LOVE the large bag, it holds a ton of stuff, went to DL for 10 days and held ALL my clothes plus some. It is not huge like other bags so makes it easy to handle and to keep around the 50 lb mark without trying too hard.

Our bags were handled quite roughly and the only thing that happened was they were filthy! I have had mine for probably 3-4 years now and use it all the time. My mother's was brand new, cannot beat the price for what it is!

The wheel on our large suitcase snapped off on its first trip also. I know baggage handlers are not careful, but all our "brand name" luggage made it in one piece many times.

Do you have a link to this luggage? I bought some in the fall and haven't used it yet. I'm curious if it is the same.
Thanks

Yikes, now I am not sure! It looks so cute but I don't want to use it one time and then it falls apart. I will have to decide if I want to order or not with so many reviews being negative. Thanks everyone for all your help and opinions!!

I have this luggage. The larger holds a lot but I would not take it on a plane unless you gate check it. It is not made well enough to handle the abuse that the airlines put it through. I use the smaller one as a carry on for the overhead compartment and can fit one week of vacation clothing in it. I will be checking only one bag, and it will not be my Mickey luggage, and that is because my sunscreen doesn't follow the 3oz rule.

Had Disney luggage. Sold it at a yard sale.

JUNKE! Sorry, but the zippers were not good quality, the handles were cheap and would not stay up etc.

It's not worth much so make sure you get a good deal.

Just a note-we had some nice luggage that the wheels fell of off too, due to the airlines handling. Not Mickey, but some nice pieces. Our big one is now unusable. So, I think it could happen to anything, but it sounds as if it happens more with Mickey luggage. Too bad, I would like some too!

Since in the past I have traveled A LOT On busines I have invested in decent luggage. One of the nice things is that it comes with a lifetime warranty. So when the airlines finally managed to tear up the handle on my suitcase I took it to the luggage store, they shipped it off for fifteen bucks and a few weeks later I picked it up with a working handle!

Now if you don't travel a lot it might not be worth it, but A LOT of luggage comes with a good warranty for several years so always check before you toss (and Disney's didn't have one with it when I got it.. Probably because the costs would kill them LOL!)

Ours survived B'ham to Vegas then Santa Ana to B'ham 'bout a month ago, except for being a little dirty. We checked the larger one, plus another 29" Atlantic upright and they held more than enough clothing, shoes, stuff for 3 ppl on an 11 day trip. Used the small one as a carry on for electronics and 1 day's worth of clothing for each of us. Plenty of room left over for bringing souvenirs home. What I didn't like was the small one did not roll/turn easily. I think I will feel more comfortable using them on a road trip vacation than with the airlines though.
