Mickey Luggage off of Disney store site

Just a note-we had some nice luggage that the wheels fell of off too, due to the airlines handling. Not Mickey, but some nice pieces. Our big one is now unusable. So, I think it could happen to anything, but it sounds as if it happens more with Mickey luggage. Too bad, I would like some too!

Oh yeah I'm sure ours came off because of the airline handling as well, goodness know they aren't gentle. The problem with our was it wasn't just the wheel it was the whold plastic thing that attaches the wheel to the suitcase. That's why we couldn't get it fixed because there was no where left to attach a wheel to. I have had good luggage and cheap luggage but I haven't ever had luggage just fall apart on me like this did.
Having said that it is very cute luggage but for the price we paid, almost $100,I would have like something a little better made. We just replaced all our mismatched luggage with a Samsonite set from Costco for $150 three pieces with those wonderful wheels that turn 360* hopefully thus can survive baggage handlers!

I too had a couple sets and while I've used them at least 10 times, they are pretty much done now. The first one fell apart on the inside as the hard plastic holding the shape broke, then the zipper went next. He went to the trash. Our other pieces are doing OK, but we had bought an additional set and I messed up. When it arrived we put it in storage and when I took it out recently we were not happy to find the wheels were broken. Our fault for not inspecting it and too late to send it back. While the set is cute, you can get cheaper luggage elsewhere that will hold up the same or better. We recently bought some Jansport bags (26 inch) off the clearance rack for $19 each at Kohls. Keep in mind that often most folks only use the one larger bag 26 inch and the other 2 smaller bags (in our family) never get used. So if you are paying $50 for the set and are like us and only using one bag, it's not a bargain at all. We bought our original sets when my DH was a CM, so we only paid $35 for the set w/free shipping.

I've also had 2 different sets of Mickey luggage; the first time we used the large and medium suitcases, a wheel broke off of both of them. I took them to a luggage repair store and they took the 2 good wheels off and put them on the medium suitcase then put 2 brand new wheels on the large one. So far, this has worked. But I do have places where the material is separating from the zipper. The 2nd set was very dented so I returned it and just got my money back, not worth the trouble!!

I've had mine for 2 years now and no problems. Haven't used them at an airport yet, but for normally traveling, I can't complain...no rips, tears, etc...

I have that set of Disney luggage, purchased on-line at the Disney Store. I think it's the set you are referring to.....3 pieces, red with black trim, and small Disney ears on it? The large one was big enough for me to pack 5 days worth of clothing in it, may not have been quite large enough to pack for 7 full days/nights. Of course, I could also use the middle size piece also. I love that luggage.

We bought a set from the website for last December's trip to the world. I'm not very pleased with the durability. We carried the one suitcase we used out of the set onto the plane so it wasn't man-handled by anyone. By the time we checked out of Pop the wheels were no longer turning properly and we literally were dragging the suitcase across the ground. Not good. :sad2:
