Please please tell me they have the Mickey ice cream bars available on board the ships?? You know--the ones like in the parks shaped like Mickey's head, they are vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate--My husband just LIVES for them, he gets one first thing whenever we go to the parks (no matter what the time! :) We are goin on our first DCL cruise on Aug. 5 and he is looking forward to them....does anyone know for sure if they are available on board??? Thank you so much for any info...I need to know in advance so I can let him down easy if they don't have them!!!

Yes they do have Mickey Bars on board. You can order them from Room service or ask your server for them at meals. I think you can probably get them other places, like Scoops but not sure.

Please reassure DH that his beloved bars are definitely a part of the Magic and Wonder. If he needs an immediate fix, check with the servers at the embarcation buffet.

Thank you SO much for your quick reply!!!!! He just read your response and we are both so excited!! Thank you!!! Can't wait!

 Why did you have to discuss the Mickey ice cream bars?

Now I want one so badly, but will have to wait until we cruise again in November 2005!

They aren't at scoops for sure...hubby tried to get me one there and was told they don't have any on the ship..that was this past march. I didn't ask our dining room server or the room service people for them though.

They are listed as desert on the kids menu's in the restaraunts so all you have to do is ask. By day 2 of our cruise, our waiter knew to bring me one without asking each night!

I want a Pocahontas bar.....they were delicious!

Where is that available, and what is it like?

We used to get them in the parks...they were like the Mickey bars but they had vanilla ice cream, a layer of caramel, and.... if memory serves me right they... were coated with milk chocolate instead of the dark. They don't sell them any more (BIG SIGH). Or do they? Anyone?

My daughter lives for the Mickey bars. That is how she "rates" the cruise. If it is a 7 night--then 7 nights of Mickey ice cream, if it is a 4 night, then only 4 nights of Mickey ice cream. So she is definitely looking forward to our Panama Canal trip! They are served each night at dinner to the kids but adults can have them too! I know they are available at room service but we don't tell her that or that would be all she would eat. She also lives on Deck 9 next to Scoops at a table next to the plexiglass eating her ice cream cones with sprinkles!

Not to be a kill-joy but, I think I read on the DIS about a month ago that the Mickey bars have changed from the Dove-type to an inferior brand. I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced the change.

Yup - they changed from Dove quite a while ago in both the parks and on the ships.

DS got one :mickeybar on the first night of our cruise and it looked so good that I wanted one too. The only problem was the other desserts sounded even better. I never did get one, so on our upcoming cruise it's on my list of things not to miss.
