Mickey help take our sadness away! pre-trip report!

Ok, so my Dad and I were talking, and we decided that we didn't want to eat in Mexico again. We wanted to try something different, so it was between Whispering Canyon and O'Hana's, and of course they don't have anything available. I am so disappointed, so I guess we will be eating at Mexico after all, but that's ok, pretty much the other 4 nights we are eating somewhere new, and next time we go, we are definately making a point to try them.

I found the cutest little Mermaid tee online. It came yesterday and it is really cute! Little Mermaid is one of my all time favs!

I bought a nike back pack from Famous Footwear for 10 bucks on Saturday. I know that I had posted before that I ordered a cute bag that I love from Target, but the strap was too short, so it won't work. But, I figured, that at least with the Nike backpack, I can make my hubby carry it if I get tired of carrying it. Although, I don't usually take a whole lot of stuff to the parks with me anyhow. I bring a brush to tame my mass of hair, my sunglasses, my wallet, and camera, and chapstick. That's about it.

So bro, sis and chubby came up for 4th of July. Chubby is getting soooo big and he is really cute! The new thing he likes to say now is that he's too busy. So here is a typical conversation with my 2.5 year old nephew:

me-"Hey chubby, come here and give auntie a kiss"
chubby- "no, too busy now"
me-"come on, you can stop playing with the water hose and give me a kiss"
chubby-"no, too busy now"

Yep, that's it, but it's the way he says it, and we wonder where he learned it from. Probably daycare.

So, that's really all the updates I have for now, sorry nothing more interesting! Maybe next time!

Hello friend, I just love reading your TR's. I haven't found time to try one. It seems like you are feeling better. I would keep calling in case someone cancels at one of the other restaurants. We ate at Whispering Canyon for our Anniversary in December and had a wonderful time, the food was great, but the entertainment was better (just don't ask for ketchup, I did b/c I knew what would happen) and your nephew would really like it. I am taking my DH to O'hana's for his surprise birthday breakfast next month, because we haven't eaten there yet, and he likes Stitch (but shhh!, it's a secret). He know there is going to be a surprise, but he can't figure it out. He is going nuts.

We added an extra night at the beginning of our trip, because I wanted some time to do some leisurely things before 2 big days at the parks and the P&PP Party.

Aren't he little ones just so cute. I have a 5 year old cousin, Jonah that is autistic, and he came by to see me on Sunday, he took my face in his hand and looked me in the eye and said "I saw Twansformers", You just had to be there. His 2 year old sister, Allie grabbed me around the neck and told me "I have a cold" and her mom is coming in behind me saying "No you don't Allie, quite telling people that". Jonah is starting "real" school in about 1 month, so I am going to take him and his 9 year old sister Hannah and buy them a backpack. He is so excited about being able to go to "real" school like his sister. We never thought he would come as far as he has, but he has been in daycare at Easter Seals for probably over 1 year now, and it has been the best thing that could have ever been done for him.

Well looks like I am hogging the thread, so I better get back to work. Keep up the great report.

Suzanne princess:

Hey PrincessSuzanne, thanks for commenting. I don't mind you hogging the thread at all, heck, you are the only one posting lately, but I understand it's not very entertaining yet...hopefully my TR will be better and I can get a bigger audience. Anyway, I am having fun doing it so it's cool.

You sound like you are doing well too, hope everything will be great on your trip next month, you deserve and need it! I want to see pictures and hear all about it when you get back!! Thanks for reading!

Great report so far!
Just an FYI on the camera.
My digital did the same thing, just kept stopping after I put in brand new batteries.
So I went to Ritz camera shop (even though I didn't buy the camera there) and the man was really nice there and asked what kind of batteries I was using (probably some cheapos that I bought on sale) and he told me I have to use really good ones like Duracell or something. So he opened up a package that probably had about 24 in there, popped 2 in my camera and it worked fine!! And then he didn't even want to charge me for the batteries he put in!! Well, I was so grateful that I told him to just give me the whole package and I would buy them and I think they were only about $14.99.
So try that before you go out and buy a new camera.

Hey Lynn,
Thanks for the battery idea, and IT WORKED!! Woo hoo, now I don't have to spend money for a new camera, instead I can spend in Disney world!! I am going to buy a new memory picture card so I can take more than just 12 pics. I found one on Amazon for like 20 bucks, and a camera case for my camera for like $5.00. I acutally was at walmart on Sat and saw a soft camera case for $1.97, but it looked a little small, so I wasn't sure if it would fit. I am going to go back this weekend with my camera and see if it fits, if it doesn, then I will get one for both me and my dad as he has the same camera as me.

Ok, so now I am getting frustrated that I haven't really lost any weight. I have really been cutting down on my food intake, and cut out junk food almost completely, and still not losing much, maybe a pound or two. I know it will happen, I have done it before so I am trying not to get too discouraged, but it does get you down at times. I think somedays I don't get enough calories, I think that could be my problem. Anyway, it will happen, I hope to lose at least 10 pounds before we go, so now I really just have to buckle down.

Anyway, nothing new really to report, thanks for stopping by!

Hi there! I just found your pre-trippie!

I am so sorry to hear about your losses. This is a well needed trip for you and I wish it to be filled with many magical experiences.

I have a friend who was a surrogate (she had a special name for it which means that she served as just the incubator, the baby girl was 100% biological child of the parents) for a family and she loved the experience. I can email you her blog about the experience if you'd like.

We took our two to Lancaster for the Day Out with Thomas, they LOVED it!

Can't wait to read more about your trip!

Thanks for posting ChrisLei! I would love for you to send me your friends Blog about being a surrogate!! Thank you so much for the offer! The Thomas the Train thing in Lancaster was really cute, I am so glad your kids enjoyed it!

Hi Yall!! I am back and updating thanks to the advice of MissMichelle!! This week has been a little busy. My 30th birthday is this Friday, UGH!! Not sure if I am happy about that or what, I don't know what it is, I just feel scared hitting 30, I guess I've been in my 20's too long huh? :lmao: Anyway, I don't know what my husband has planned, but it better be good! Just kidding. We will probably end up going to dinner and then to the movies or something like that, which is usually my normal b-day thing we do.

My DH ex is coming into town. For those of you who don't know, my husband has 2 sons age 8 an 11 who he loves dearly. Anyway, him and his ex broke up, him and I met, fell in love and got married. Well, I am sure you can guess what happened next, yep, we had a stalker. His ex and her sister and friends harrassed us, crank called up, she started using the kids as a pawn against my husband and just a bunch of crap. Finally it all came to a head and my husband went to try and get custody of the kids, but to make a long story short, she got full custody. In the summer of 2004 she moved on the sneak tip to Florida, at that point we hadn't seen the kids in over 6 months, so now 3 years later she is back up to visit.

Sorry to cut off like that, I had to shut it down for a minute. Anyway, so we haven't seen or spoken to the kids in 3 years. I contacted his ex a few times over the computer on her myspace page, because we didn't even know which city in Florida she was living in, and I asked her if we could have the kids come up to visit for a few weeks in the summer and I would pay the airfare. Anyway, as you can guess, she said no, that my husband was a bad father and blah blah blah. Now just to set the record straight, my husband is a great father, I wouldn't be wanting to have a child with him if he wasn't. His ex is just a jealous low life. She now has another child by another guy who is now serving 4 years in prison. My husband pays his child support every month and should be allowed to see his kids. Anyway, back when all this fighting over the kids was going on, DH and I were really struggling. We were living in a one bedroom apartment, I had lost my job a few months before all this happened and had just started working at the job I am in now. We had a ton of bills and no money to pay for a lawyer. We didn't know that we could have stopped her from moving to Florida with the kids either. It was like we couldn't get help from anywhere. Now we are finally in a better position financially, so we are going to work for visitation rights. The only thing is we have to get a lawyer down in Florida and fly down there for the court date, AND, I am really concerned that she has brain washed the kids to the point that they might not even want to see DH. But we will find out. So she is supposed to be on a plane now on her way up here to visit her family. A friend of both hers and DH is going to try and find a way to have them come visit and then have him come over and see them, which is really nice of her. His ex has been going around telling everyone that the reason she doesn't let DH see his kids is because he doesn't pay his child support, which is a total lie. He pays her $500.00 a month, every month and has never missed a payment in 4.5 years. So hopefully I am praying that he will get to see his boys. So now that I have ranted off topic, I guess I should get back to my TR!!!!

So, I have been doing some shopping to get ready for the trip, got some shorts for me and tees, and my DH a few things. I still only need to get my sneakers, what am I waiting for? I don't know. I just haven't gotten my butt up to the mall to go look. I have been having such a good time this summer just hanging out. My weekend usually consists of Saturday getting up, putting my bathing suit on, going outside and laying in the lounger in the pool, sipping on a drink while reading a really good book. In between this, I do throw in laundry and manager to cook a few meals, but it has been really nice not doing much of anything.

So I am really looking forwad to my trip, as I am writing this, only 50 more days till it's time to go to Disney!!!! I can't wait! So heres a recap for you!

Thurs Sept 13th - me and DH depart Philadelphia International and arrive in Orlando at 11:30. My bro, sis, chubby and Pop are flying out of washington DC and won't arrive until 12:30. HERE is a question that I need help with. Obviously DH and I are just going to wait around at the airport for the rest of the family and then all get on DME together. Can we do this? Is this going to screw us up with our luggage? Meaning should I just not put the DME tags on our luggage, and when we land, wait for the rest of the family then all do down to luggage claim, get DH and mine's bag and then take them on the bus with us, or will it be ok that our luggage is there but we aren't getting on the bus for another hour? Also, how do they get everyone's luggage, do they have your specific flight number or can we just say we are all flying in on the same flight? Our trip money balance is due on Sunday, when I call to pay, I will set up the DME then, but if anyone knows before hand, that would be great, because I would have to get my bro's flight info.

I was thinking about having a limo come and pick me and hubby up at our house and take us to the airport and then bring us back home. I was thinking this would be a cool and relaxing way for us to drive down and would be really neat for him. He is not a big fan of flying, but he does it anyway with a little nervousness. Also, since we are going to be down there for a while, I would probably spend what ever parking would be on a round trip cost. I will have to research it.

So Thursday night after we arrive we will probably hang out at the pool for a while and then head to DTD for dinner reservations at Ragland Road.

Friday-September 14th is Epcot day. We all love Epcot and last year we didn't really have a whole lot of time to explore, but this year I plan on taking my time around the world and we are having dinner in Germany. Last year is was Italy, but this time around we are trying somewhere new. Also, my sis is from Austria, so it will be neat to hear her talk to them in German!

Saturday- September 15th- this is our resort day, we are just hanging at the pool, doing whatever and then going to Mickey's Back Yard bbq for dinner. I am really not sure if I want to hang at the resort all day, I will see what DH wants to do, but I would prefer to go to MK that day, since we are only getting one day in there.

Sunday, September 16th - Chubby's b-day!!:goodvibes We are going to either MGM or MK and then having dinner at Chef Mickey's. I would prefer to go to MK on this day and then just hop on the monorail in time for our Dinner ressie's at the Contemporary, in opposed to running back and forth to different places like we did last year. We lost a lot of park time last year, thank goodness for staying in Disney and their buses!

Monday September 17th- Either MK or MGM whichever we didn't do the day before with dinner at Mexico.

Tuesday September 18th- Bro, sis, chubby and Pop are checking out and going home. DH and I are going to either BB or TL, haven't decided which park yet, but this was one of Hubby's only request, so of course I said yes! I am excited that he is excited to be going here. Does anyone have a preference on which park they like better and which one we should go to? I am pushing towards TL only because I heard it is a little bit smaller and more relaxing than BB which people say they felt like they walked miles and up a million stairs. Trying to relax people, not tire us out for the rest of our trip.
Then we check out of POR and into a HOward Johnson's right outside US which I read was really nice.

Wednesday September 19th- Universal Studios. Really looking forward to this! Haven't been here since I was 12 and my hubby has never been.

Thurs September 20th - IOA

Friday September 21st- home :(

Anyway, I will post more in a little bit. Here is my myspace page if anyone is interested. http://www.myspace.com/suziem383

HI there! Just found your pre-trippie and have loved reading along.

I am so very sorry to hear about your losses. My heart was just breaking for you reading about your journey trying to become parents. Please know you will be in my thoughts and prayers and you go down this road together.
{{big squshy hug}}

Disneyworld is going to be just the thing for the two of you to do. It will be a healing trip. Lots of fun, fresh air, food, family and the mouse - can't get any better then that!

Keep the report coming!

Hi there! I'm along for the ride on this pre-TR. I'll arrive at WDW just a couple days after you! I read through all the posts, and I was going to offer battery help but I see someone already did! I was going to suggest investing in a battery charger w/ rechargable batteries. (I like Energizer) It cost me $13.00 at Walmart if I remember correctly. They’re the only kind that keep our camera on.

The other thing I was going to say was that you had planned an evening at AK on the 17th (but it looks like that has changed?) and AK closes at 5. Did you change it because you realized it closed early? Just checking. Also should note that AK has an early Extra Magic Hour on the 17th, so maybe you could make it early and just see a few things there if you're interested. Animal Kingdom is a great park, not just a "zoo" as many people think.

Also, I think you have a very positive outlook despite the things that life has thrown at you. Make sure you see Wishes at MK....close your eyes...and make a wish. It will feel magical! :wizard:

Thank you KindaKrazy2 for your post!! I am just hoping that one day I will be able to walk down mainstreet with my hubby and a child. I am being patient though. So I appreciate the good thoughts and prayers you all offer! I too think that this trip is going to be good for us, a time to just have fun and laugh and not think about anything else!

CherBear, I will be heading over to your PTR shortly, it would be neat if we ran into eachother down there! As for AK I am not exactly sure if we are going to make it there or not this trip. We loved AK when we went last year, so I would love to go again, I was thinking about adding another day onto our park hopper passes and going there on Saturday, but I have to check with DH. He likes having the downtime. Me not so much, I can have downtime all I want back home, ya know?!

Here is my plan, but again, since we are traveling with bro and his fam, I do like sticking with them because I love to be around Chubby. So we will probably go the same ways most days, but split up while in the parks at times, and then in the evenings after dinner we might do our own thing too.

9/13-arrive, DTD
9/14-Epcot all day maybe boardwalk at night
9/15-pool day/Mickey's BBQ/Pleasure Island
9/16-Magic Kingdom all day then hop on the monorail and head to Contemporary at Chef Mickey's.
9/17-Ak in AM/MGM in afternoon and then head on over to Epcot for dinner at Mexico
9/18-TL

You know the rest. I prefer to eat in or close to whichever park we will be in for that day. I just think it takes too much time out of park time to be going to one or the other. If we were going during the summer when the parks are open until Midnight it would be a different story.

See, I would have liked to have planned things out a little bit better. We knew we were going to Disney, but we were obviously planning to stay off-site at first until I told my bro about free dining. We booked Memorial day weekend, but didn't even think about dinner places until later, which was a mistake, because we had a hard time getting some of the places we wanted like O'hana's and WCC. I would have liked to hit the parks on the days they have extra hours and eat in that park or around there. As it is now, I am trying to coordinate park days around dinners. So now I have to go back and look at which park has the EMH and see if any of the ones we are going to be at have them. Sometimes this part of the planning can be so tough!! Fun, but tough!

Ok, I am back again, Just checked Magic hours and...Friday, 9/14 they have extra magic hours in Epcot, which we are lucky and are already going to be there that day, so that is lucky for us!!! Looks like we are lucking out again for extra magic hours on 9/17 at MK too!! Woo hoo!:woohoo: Also lucking out with extra magic hours in MGM on 9/17. Now, here is what I was thinking, I was thinking we could skip Mexico for dinner and have a meal somewhere in MGM if we happen to stay late or just keep Mexico's plan if we don't feel like staying at MGM. So, I guess I didn't need to go worrying myself for nothing, it all worked out in the end!! yay! I have a question for you, if anyone knows. If we do happen to skip a table service meal, can we use those credits at a counter service place instead?? Just thinking that if we do decide to blow off Mexico and stay at MGM, were obviously not going to be able to just walk into a place and get a table, but we could just go and grab a counter service meal. Can you do this? Also, do you need to make reservations to eat at the restaurant at your hotel?

Hey girl! I made it back over here....I see you are doing the Backyard BBQ, can't wait to hear how that goes! I've always wanted to try it out but TC is just SOOOO picky and doesn't like anything BBQ.

Oh and I don't believe they will let you use the TS credit as CS credits just because you didn't get to use them. Especially during Free Dining :(

And what is it with guys wanting downtime??? Like you said, you can have that at home. If TC tried to make me have more downtime on our KidLess trip I would have just headed on out without him. Then again I am the pushy bossy one in this relationship! HAHAH

Hey MissMichelle, I know what you mean about downtime!! I really prefer to spend more time in MK then I am getting, so I am going to try and talk to my hubby about adding another day onto our park hoppers, BUT, it might be nice to sleep in that morning,(I love to sleep, I hate getting up early), but of course, I will get up at the butt crack of dawn at Disney! Anyway, I wouldn't really say it's a downtime day, I was thinking if Hubby doesn't agree to going to MK that day, we still have the pool to hang at for a while which is nice in the September humidity/heat, also, we have the coupons for the minature golf, which we have never done down there, and coupons to rent the sea racer's which I know my hubby would be into also. So, I figured we could do all that during the free day, which would still be fun, so we will see.

Yeah, I didn't think they would let us do the whole counter service/table service swap. I figured on our last day, we could go to the restaurant in our hotel, and eat there if we skip Mexico. I just don't know if you need a reservation for there too. POR does have a regular restaurant aside from the food court right?

Also, I can't believe your DH doesn't love BBq!!! I know it's a staple in the south, but even us Philly people love a good bbq now and then, does he even know what he's missing?? I bet there are no good BBq places up in NE, that's probably why, he just hasn't had the good stuff! My brother makes some mean smoked ribs and pulled pork.

I'd recommend a reservation. You won't get priority seating for staying at the hotel, if that is what you were asking. You'd have just as much chance getting a table as you would with any other table service restaurant. Reservations are recommended for pretty much all of WDW table service restaurants. Hope that helps. Good luck getting the ones you want!

Hi Susie, I am so glad to see you posting again. Isn't planning great. I don't have much planning to do, so I just keep changing our resort around. We have now moved from POR to WL woods view. I have booked a surprise breakfast at O'hana for DH's birthday, and it is driving him crazy trying to find out what the secret is. He knows that it is something we have done on every trip, but he just can't figure it out. We have never eaten at O'hana and I thought what a great way to celebrate and he loves Stitch. I also decided to go to EPCOT that morning instead of MK, since we will be there that evening for the Pirate and Princess Party. I really want to ride Test Track and go around WS again. We are going to MGM on Thursday.

I love trip planning, but I am going to have to stop before I go and change everything all over again. I will have to stop soon, because the current offer is no loger valid after Sunday anyway. Now if they will go ahead and open up December 5-14, 2008, I will be happy (I only have a few more days per the CM from last night, they are at December 3).

I don't have a problem with DH wanting down time, so we manage great at WDW, now my mom is a different story. We do like to go back to the resort midday sometimes, not so much when we go in December because the weather was great, but definitely in June and August.

Well I better get back to work. I will check in tonight.

Suzanne princess:

Also, I wanted to comment you MissMichele on you saying that if your DH didn't want to go somewhere, you would just go without him. Well, I did that one trip down when I went in 1998 with my ex-boyfriend. I paid for us to go on the trip, we stayed at All Star Sports, and we were only there for 5 days so I had everything planned, and really wanted to be in the parks early in the morning. Well, one morning I tried to wake him up, and he totally started yelling at me about how he was tired, and he didn't care and didn't want to go, etc... so you know what??? I went without him to MGM and rode everything like 5 times and it was the best experience ever. A lot of the CM's talked to me since I was a single rider, and it was a lot of fun. Now, since we don't have tickets for that one day, I can live with doing other stuff, but if my DH pulls that on a day we have tickets to the park and tickets we paid for, GUESS WHAT, I will leave his butt where it lays after I get done kicking it! :rotfl2: I told my Hubby, if this trip doesn't do it for him, and he doesn't want to go back, I will be going down to Disney by myself, I do not care, he is not keeping me away!

On that note, hubby and I came up with a compromise, or at least I let him think we did. We are going to Puerto Rico in March for our 5 year wedding anniversary. We will be staying in a hotel in San Juan for 3 nights, then staying with his grandfather/Aunt for the other 5 days. Then in May, we are going to take a long weekend trip to Vegas, this was the other place he really wanted to visit. PR he wants to go to see his grandfather who is sick and all the rest of his Aunt's and uncles and cousins. So we compromised on this that if we go to Disney this September, then we go to those other places if circumstances and money allow. PR will be cheap, as we are staying with family, and hubby still has points left for hotels down there so that's a definate. Vegas will probably be doable too. The one thing he doesn't know is that since I am going to PR and Vegas, if they offer free dining in September again for Disney, we are going back down. I didn't tell him this, he will find out at a later date!!:rolleyes1 We might as well try to get all of our traveling out of the way now, as I am hoping by the next year or so we will have a new addition to our family one way or the other, therefore will have to put the traveling on hold for a while.

Ok, back to updating a little bit! We just got our ME stuff in the mail. I actually had to call Disney, because they made a boo-boo. See, my DH and I are flying in and out differently than the rest of the clan. They have my Dad as the same flights as us by mistake, when actually his should be the same as Bro's. Anyway, I called and they said it wasn't a big deal and that I should call ME 3days before our departure to get it straightened out. Whateva, I will do that, but there better not be any problems when it comes time for my Pop's to leave the resort. I specifically told them all the info when I called, but oh well. I am sure we can always get it straightened out at the hotel. Although, I do have a question. The woman on the phone told me that we could still use the ME tags that they sent us for my Dad's bag, even though we are not on the same plane. Does the airport just automatically grab all the bags with the ME luggage tags, or do they have a list of airlines and people's flight info and go around to each carousel getting thier luggage? If so, won't my Dad's bag not get there unless they are expecting his bags to be on Southwest but is really on United??

Anyway, I am so excited, exactly 1 month and we will be down there! I am soooooo ready to start packing! I have all my clothes ready to go, and just really want to start putting them in my suitcase, because then it will really feel official!

DH is back in RI again for work. He left August 6th and was supposed to be coming home This Friday, but now they are making them stay up there until the 30th! DH was sooooo not happy, so he is flying home for a day and a half just to come home! Sigh, I think he really misses me!

Anyhoo, that's really all to report right now, I am still feeling like I am not getting enough park time in Disney as we are only doing 3 days this trip and having 1 day to just relax. I guess it's fine, I have been enough times, so it's not like this is our first trip and have to see everything, but, you know how it is!

:goodvibes Just wanted to thank you for your kind words on my trip report. I'm so sorry to hear about all the two of you have been thru. :grouphug: A trip to Disney is just what the Dr. ordered. I think our trip really brought us joy at a terrible time & helped us enjoy some quality time together. :)

Sounds like you have a fun group going along! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear all about it.
