Mickey help take our sadness away! pre-trip report!

Nice to see you back on here! I was wondering if you had left us and headed off to Mickey's house early! If only it was that easy!!!

Hi, I'm back, sorry, I haven't had that much to write, you know everything is pretty much done except packing, so not much to report!! ONE BIG THING IS...Dum dum duuuummmm....I am getting another whole park day added on, hubby said yes!! Woo hoo for me!:woohoo: As you all know, we were technically only getting 3 park days, and 1 water park day, and 1 day to relax in Disney which I was kinda not happy about. I only get to Disney once a year if I am lucky, so of course I want to see as much as I can.

As you know we are going with my brother and his family, and they have been2 times a year for the last 3 years, so they were the ones who decided to take one day off and just hang at the pool, which is cool for them, but I wasn't too happy about it. Now, just because they were doing that, doesn't mean that we had to too, but I kinda felt bad for my DH because I wanted him to enjoy himself and not have a totally commando trip! See my mom was like that, and although that was cool for me and my brother when we were younger, my dad would always say that it would have been nicer to have been able to take it slower in Disney and just enjoy instead of running around like maniacs!

Now last year when we went, that was exactly what we did! It was my first time back in almost 8 years, so of course I wanted to try and see all the good stuff, plus we tried to stick to DN's schedule and really missed out on a lot! Well this year I promised hubby we would take it a little bit slower, so I thought the day off was a good idea. I think a day off is a good idea if you are going for a longer period of time, but since we were really only getting 4.5 days at Disney, I really didn't want to waste a whole day doing nothing!

So, here is our updated itinerary: Also, a reminder, I am not exactly sure that we will do the parks on these days, this is the schedule that I would like to follow, but that might changed depending on what the rest of the family wants to do. I prefer to stay at the parks as long as possible all day if we are up to it, but it will be hot down there, extremely hot, so we might take a break mid day, which I figured will be our relax time.

Thurs-arrival!! We are landing at 11:30am we were going to wait around for an hour until my bro's plane landed and then all ride over together, but my DB called me yesterday and told me that their flight was changed and now wouldn't be landing until 2:30. So, DH and I will go over to the hotel, I will be packing our swim stuff in a small carryon, and we will hang out at the pool until they arrive. So there is already a relaxing day right there!
Then when family arrives, we will all check in together, get our rooms, hang out a little, talk, then head over to DTD, shop and eat at Ragland Road. I told hubby we could go to PI after but we will have to see how we feel. Maybe if I can take a nap on a lounger at the pool earlier that day, I might be able to stay awake!:) I swear, something must happen to you when you hit 30, I swear, all alchohol does to me anymore is make me tired. What fun is that?:confused3

Fri- Epcot day! Get up, go to the park try to hit everything we really want to see and do in FW eat lunch there possibly, and then head over to WS. Now if it gets too hot, this would be a good time to go back, hang at the pool, and relax, then head to WS. Take our time around the WS and end up in Germany for ADR. We could do PI this night, as on Sat we are going to TL and they don't open until 10am, so it would be a chance for us to sleep in the next day if we stay out a little late!

Sat- this was supposed to be the relax day, where we were going to just do whatever , then go over to WL for Mickey's BYBBQ, but now we are gooing to go to TL in the AM, then come home sometime in the afternoon relax at the room, get dressed and then head over to WL to MBYBBQ. Also, maybe go to the Boardwalk this night as I have never been there before. Then back to POR the hotel and to bed.

Sun-Magic Kingdom day, with ADR's at Chef Mickey's for dinner! Also, really want to see the fireworks, haven't seen them since I was younger!

Mon-MGM in AM, then maybe a mid day break at the hotel, then back to Epcot for dinner in Mexico, followed by another stroll around WS to the countries that we didn't get to see before and then watch illuminations!

Tues- Back to MK for our last day in DW. DB and family are checking out of hotel and flying home today. This was supposed to be the day DH and I were going to do the TL, but I figured we didn't need the whole day for the water park. Then in the evening, we drive to our new hotel. Now, this is where I still don't know what to do , maybe you could give me your opinion. It isn't really a big deal but, we have to check out of POR at 11am. I already reserved a car at the Dolphin hotel for us for the rest of our stay. Would you check out early, go over to the Dolphin Hotel and pick up the car and then put all your luggage in the trunk and then drive to MK, park and then just take our time there until we were ready to leave, OR, check out of POR, have them hold our luggage, jump on the bus to MK and then around 1-2pm, get our car, go back to POR, pick up our luggage, then head to Epcot and stay for the evening and then drive to our other hotel? Not sure which is better.

Wed- Wake up at new hotel, go to US Olrando. Stay and hit all that we want to see and do, have lunch there then head back to the hotel, relax, get showered and changed then go have dinner somewhere.

Thur- go to IOA, do all that we want, saving the water rides for last because I am not walking around in wet jean shorts all day, then go back to the room, hang at the pool, take a nap, maybe do some laundry, then get showered, changed, and then go to City Walk, have dinner, and then go to one of the clubs.

Fri- sleep in a little later, pack, head to the airport, drop off rental car, and fly home.:sad1:

I don't think that is too hectic a schedule, what do you guys think?? I am open for the days in the parks to have a mid-day break if needed, so I think that is enough relaxing. do you think I am pushing us too far?

Also, I would love to find time in here to use our Minature golf coupons and our sea racer coupon too, and possibly even hit DTD again. We can always head there after MK on Tuesday and have dinner there. We will just play that by ear.

OH, by the way, thanks for posting you guys, I still need to figure out how to quote someone, then I can reply individually to everyone. BUt, just wanted you to all know that I do appreciate you!

Ok, another short update. I am done shopping for clothes for me for my trip. I am only taking about 6 pairs of shorts, so somewhere in between all the fun, I have to take some time do a load or 2 of laundry! I am going to the mall tonight to buy sneakers and make sure I break them in before we go. I am also stopping at Walmart tonight to grab the rest of the toiletries that I want to take, then it will be just a matter of packing, which is easy, since I have mostly everything written down that we need to pack. Plus I have a bunch of stuff that I bought for the trip that I haven't even worn yet so all I need to do is fold them and stick them in my suitcase, plus I bought a bunch of sleeveless tees for DH that I won't let him wear till we get down there, so they are already to be packed! So besides just doing that, that's really all that has to be done! Hope you guys are all enjoying the rest of your summer! Oh yeah, 27 more days to go!!:cool1:

When looking at someone's post, on the bottom right hand corner of the post is a "Quote" button if you want to just quote one person. Right next to that button is another one that you can go through & click on on several of the posts if you want to reply to multiple people at once. After you've picked all the quotes you want, just click on Reply on the bottom. :) Hope that all makes sense!

Cool, Ok, I figured out how to quote your whole message, now I am going to have to start messing around with just quoting a specific question in a post. Thanks for your help!!

Great pre-trippie so far! Include me with everyone else wishing you the most magical trip ever - you deserve it!

Mexico is one of my favorite places to eat in Epcot as well. I can eat good Mexican food anytime here in Houston, but the atmosphere of the Mexico Pavilion is one that's hard to top! The Strawberry Margaritas are very good as well.

I think your updated itinerary looks very fun! You guys will get to see a lot during your trip.

I'll be checking back soon! :)

trying to catch up here; wanted to let you know I'm reading. so sorry about your pregnancies and your babies.
hope you have lots of fun on your trip - you'll LOVE staying onsite:wizard:

Thanks for reading and posting everyone! I love Margaritas, strawberry, lime, peach, you name it, I am there! Last trip we bought one, by the time I got to Italy, I swear I was drunk, not kidding! I am a drinker, not an everyday thing, but sometimes on the weekend, and def at parties! I was suprised by how fast it went to my head! The only thing that sucks about my drinking is that I get hot, sweaty hot, not attractive hot, :rotfl2: . So here we were last September when it was about 100 degrees and the humidity was ungodly, and I am sweating even more from the Margarita, ugh, but it was worth it:cool1: .

Smidgey, glad you stopped by! I love reading yours and Nebo's report, it is so entertaining! I wish we were going to be down there the same time as you so we could meet, but sadly, I think we miss you by 2 days!

Hey everyone, back for a little more updating!

I went to the mall the other day and got a cute pair of sneakers! I am going to be wearing them around the house all weekend to break them in and to make sure they don't cause me any blisters, keep your fingers crosse, because usually every pair of shoes, no matter what kind, gives me blisters. what a joy. They are white nike's and they are really cute. I signed up for Footlockers VIP club whatever that is, and for the first time ever since I signed up last year, I got 2 coupons. I got $15.00 off a purchase of $50.00. My shoes were $49.99, and I got a pair of $4.00 socks and only paid $38.99 with my coupon, plus I still have another one to use if my hubby needs new sneaks.

DH comes back from RI on the 31st, so this weekend, instead of sitting around being bored, I am painting my kitchen cabinets! I love to do stuff around the house. I started sanding the cabinets last night, and am going to prime and paint them white. I would love to get new cabinets, but can't really do it right now, so it will have to wait a year or two. Our cabinets are old, but still in good condition, just are a really dark brown that I hate, so hopfully with a coat of whitel paint, it will brighten up my kitchen. I will try to take some before and after shots so you guys can see.

On top of all that, I go into my dresser last night and boom, the drawer fall in. Now it looks like I need a new bedroom set. We got ours from IKEA about 2 years ago, but what do you expect from there. As soon as we get back from Disney and I can throw a chunk of moola on our credit card, I am going to get a new set. I guess that is one bright spot of being childless right now, that all our extra money can be used to get the expensive things now, and that way in the future, the rest can go for baby/child stuff. Does that make sense? My husband and I lived in a small apartment and didn't have much money when we first got married, so we had to buy everything when we bought our house. My living room is done now, I have all brand new furniture, a new flat screen tv, decorations, etc.., so is my dining room. We bought a brand new table and hutch last year. We bought our house from my Aunt after my uncle died and she couldn't keep up with the payments, but the house was serverly neglected and we had to almost gut the whole thing and re-do it, so a lot of our money has been going to home repairs. I know children are expensive, so I am trying to look at this as a positive, that by the time my baby comes along, our house will be the way we want it. We put in new carpets thru out, new ceramic tile in the entryway, dining room and kitchen and had to do all new landscaping out front and back. We sill have some big projects left like new siding, the driveway needs to be broken up and re-paved, the heating and air need to be upgraded eventually, and obviously we need new kitchen cabinets and countertops eventually too, but not right away. Also, our bathroom needs a face lift.

We also want to one day build a master suite on to the upstairs of the house, but that won't be for at least 5 years.

I ordered my new camera memory card off the internet, so that should get here soon. I got a 1GB card for $25.00 which I thought was pretty cheap.

I can't wait to start packing, I will probably do that the weekend hubby comes home, since his suitcase will already be out. I think it really feels official once you have the suitcases packed!

Anyway, that's all for right now, I will be back in a few days to update again and let you all know how the kitchen came along!

Ok, so I finished the kitchen cabinets, and all I have to say is....I AM NEVER DOING THAT AGAIN, or at least by myself! It sucked! It took me from Thursday night, till Sunday night to finally finish it, and in my haste to get started, I forgot before pics. :headache: I did come out really nice, and it is so bright, my kitchen looks brand new! But it was hard work, I now have a new found gratitude for home imporvement people!

I am soooooo ready to go to Disney!! I seriously, cannot wait any longer! I only need to make it 16 more days!!

I think tonight, I will start some of my packing, I already straightened out one of our closets yesterday while I was waiting for paint to dry, and came across a bunch of stuff I need for my trip that was put away from last years return.

I found my small wallet that will need to hold my credit cards and license. I found my carry on bag, mine and DH swim shoes, my beach bag that I will use at blizzard beach, and a couple of other things.

I had to run to walmart yesterday to get more cat food and litter, so I picked up a couple of packs of cotton undies for me and a pack of socks. I need to start wearing my sneakers around the house this week and this weekend to break them in to make sure I don't get blisters. I can pack all the other toiletries and stuff I don't use everyday, then all I have to do the day before or so is pack the rest. I have a bunch of shirts and shorts that I probably won't wear before our trip, because I don't wear those clothes to works, so I can pack them, so hopefully I won't be running around at the last minute.

I am excited about this weekend, the new Halloween move comes out, and my bro and I had made a date to go and see it together, because we were supposed to be going down to their house to visit for the Labor Day weekend. Since hubby hasn't been home for a month, he doesn't want to come home on Friday and then leave for another 3 days again on Saturday, so looks like I will be going to the movie solo. Who cares, at least I get to see it! I am sure DH will go with me, but he hates those types of movies, so honestly, I would rather go alone.

Anyway, that's all for now!

Ok, I thought sanding, priming and painting cabinets were bad, it is nothing compared to coloring grout! Yes, you heard me right, the grout in our bathroom was just completely hideous! I swear the previous 2 owners never washed their floors. We have 1inch square blue tiles on the floor and the grout is brown and yellow, and I have wanted a way to make it white again. I tried bleach paste, bleach pens, clorox spray, nothing. Then when I was at Lowe's the other day getting all the stuff for my kitchen, I thought I would look around in their tile department and sure enough, where the grout is there is a color grout pen. It comes in white, beige and gray, and let me tell you, it really does work excellent! My grout looks brand new, I just want to see how it holds up when I scrub the floors this weekend, it says it is permanent, but you never know. I am not totally finished, I still have more to do, but I ran out so I have to go back to lowes to get more. It is really easy, just time consumimg. Obviously if you have larger tiles than I do, it wouldn't take you anytime at all.

Anyway, I now have lunch reservations at Kona cafe on the 18th. I figured we would wake up, check out, go get our rental car and then head to the MK then take the monorail over to the Polynesian for lunch at 2:30. I am dying to try the macadamia nut tart and the Lapu Lapu!! Then, after lunch either head back to MK or go to Epcot until we are ready to leave then go check into our Universal hotel. I am kinda glad we are doing it this way. Most people on here suggested going to US first, but I think it might make it a little easier leaving if we know we will still technically be in Florida for a few days before our trip is completely over and back to the ol' grindstone. Ya know?:confused3

I only have 12 days to go, or at least that's how I am counting!

Well, only 6 more days!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Yeah baybee!! I am getting so excited, I have started packing, and will probably finish everything this weekend after I do laundry. DH will have to do without some of his things for 3 days next week. I think he will be able to manage.

I have been wearing my sneakers to work on a couple of days, and am having some concerns. Seems like I might be have a small issue with the insole of my right foot. I think it's rubbing on the inside or something, there was a piece of elastic there that was attached to the tongue, which I just cut out, so I will see how they feel now. Hopefully, no major foot problems this trip!

I have made sure to pack bandaids, and some first aid ointment, I haven't had any problems lately, but let me tell you, if there is uneven payment, or a slick spot in the whole park, yours truly will usually find it! Yep, I am famous for falling down. I will never forget, my most horrifying moment was when I was about 12 or 13. I use to go to this church group called Pioneer girls. It was actually a fun thing to do on Friday nights that we would make crafts, have holiday parties, and have a time of bible study thrown in. At the end of each year, there was a banquet, and everyone had to dress western. So I had on a skirt, and a western patterned shirt and flat dress shoes, which had a slippery sole. I kept telling my mom about them, but I guess she thought the more I would wear them, and scuff them, that they would get better. So I was getting an award for something, and my Dad was there with me because I think it was the father/daughter themed, and when they called my name, I started walking up to the front, and I get up to the front and I remember they had rolling carts that they brought the food out to everyone's table on, and I slipped trying to go around the cart that was just sitting there and ended up kindof laying and riding on the cart as it rolled up to the front, IN FRONT OF EVERYONE! I mean there had to be at least 200 people there, and everyone started laughing, luckily, I didn't cry, I just laughed it off and slunk back to my seat. I was soooo embarrassed. It still feels like it happened just yesterday. I can look back on it now and laugh, thank god, but at the time, it was horrifying! Maybe I should start adding in funny stories to my report, maybe then people will read and post. We'll see.

Hey girl, I was just thinking about you this morning. I was wondering how many more days you had. We had such a great trip last month, almost nobody in the parks, hope that is how it is for you guys. We practically had World Showcase to ourselves and mad it all the way around in about 2 hours and that included stopping to watch the Drum and Fife Corp and Voices of Liberty and the American Showcase at the American Pavilion. Well, we did stop for about 20 minutes to have some fish and chips at that little window next to Rose and Crown. We did only stop a little bit along the way though. We got rained out of the Pirate and Princess Party (long story), but the rest of the trip was great.

I know you are really getting excited, I was so much that I had to stop thinking about the trip just so I could get ready. Well, now I am trying to plan our December trip and a friend of my moms has me working on something for her and her family for Thanksgiving week (can you believe she is waiting until this late date) and she wasnt' to stay at a Value resort at the Value season rates, told her it can't be done. I think I found her a room on Expedia, but Disney has nothing in that category at the Values and she has 3 adults and a 17 year old. I am going to get some stuff together and take it to her on Saturday, so she is not so overwhelmed when she gets there.

Drop me off a bucket of popcorn on your way home, I am addicted to that stuff. On our last day on our way off property, DH had to stop at DTD and let me go through Team Mickey and get 2 buckets at that little kiosk, and I am in desperate need of some more. Crazy I know, but I love the stuff (I also got a bucket when we were at MGM).

I wanted to tell you that moleskin works better than a bandaid for blisters. It is available on a roll at Target for less than $5.00 and you cut it to the size you need and it conforms more like a second skin instead of rubbing off like a regular bandaide. I had to use some in June and it really did much better than a bandaid.

Catch up with you later,

Suzanne princess:

Hey PSuzanne! I am glad to hear you had a great time, I would love to hear more about your trip, so either feel free to post on here, (since no one else is;) or PM me!)

I am really excited! only 6 more sleeps, and then off to the happy place!! Woo hoo! I was having kinda a sad day today. I don't know what it was that brought it on, just got a little weepy, but I just thought about DW, and I felt better. Thanks for posting!

I packed yesterday!! Hooray!! It feels like it is official, once I pack! I did laundry all weekend long, and am totall spent, then yesterday I cleaned our entire bedroom from top to bottom, even dusting the walls and washing the curtains. It is amazing how dusty or room seems to get, I think it's because we have the entrance to the attic in there. The only thing left to do is vacum and dust the living room, because I certainly don't want to come home to a dirty house! I am going to get my hair trimmed tonight and then come home and touch up the roots, yep, my grays are showing thru!:sad1: Anyway, just 3 more sleeps, and then we are out of here!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Tomorrow on the way home from work, I have to stop at Target and get a couple more last minute things. Plus, I need to go to Petsmart to pick up some more wet food for my cat, Tigger. I am going to miss him while I am away! My dad's Best freind is going to come over and check on him once a day to feed him and make sure he's ok. Anyway, thats all for now, 3 more sleeps, and I am outta here!!

I would love for you to read more about my trip, I have posted the best TR I could on the thread "childless, not by choice", so drop by and hope you enjoy. Hope it will not be as hot for you, although it wasn't as hot there as it was at home, when we were there.

Yeah, I had to cover those grays before we went on vacation, didn't want to blind anyone with them.

Mom took care of my 7 pets while we were gone and boy did they keep her busy and entertained.

Have a great trip if I don't "talk" to you before you leave.

Suzanne princess:

Have an incredible trip! You have had a rough go of it and deserve to have a great time.

:goodvibes

Here is some pickie dust for safe travel pixiedust:

Some chears for on time arrival :cheer2:

Some peace and love for happy times. :grouphug:

Write when you get back so we can hear how it went.

:cloud9:

Thanks Candiz! I will definately write a report when I get back, hopefully with lots of pics! I got my 1GB memory card for my camera so it can hold about 1300 pics! I can't wait, 2 more sleeps to go!!

On another note, not sure if a lot of people know about this, I am not exactly sure how I got the info and if all banks do it, but I get visa rewards from my debit card thru points2u.com. I just redeemed my points, I only had about 6,000, but I got a $50.00 Target Gift card! Everytime I use my debit card and use it as a credit instead of a debit, I get points. If you didn't know, now you do, so see if you are eligible. It can't hurt!

I can't wait, it is been hard to sleep since Saturday night, and if I can just get through one more day of work, it will almost be here!

Anyway, if I don't get a chance to post before then, as I am sure I will be busy with work knowing it is my last day for 9 days, then I will see you all when I get back! Hope you all have a good week!

I hope you are having a good time! I leave Saturday! Maybe I will see you in the World.
