I keep seeing reports the the High School Cheerleaders have been completely running amok the last 2 days since their comp ended.

Worst behavior ever.

Anyone there now with a report?

The reports make The 15s seem tame by comparison! lol

We went one year during cheer and it was mayhem, swarms of loud teens everywhere. Yes, I get they are young but the chaperones never told them to zip their mouths, they seemed to think everyone loves to hear cheerleaders shout out loud, this is not true. After that experience I always looked it up and booked around the competitions. Closing my eyes I can still hear the echos walking through Soarin' where I pulled the CM aside and begged them to either squeeze us into a non cheer ride rotation or let the squad go in front of us, anything to make it stop:sad2: they kindly obliged.

I've been during cheer competitions and haven't really had that experience. I'd see them at the resort practicing or whatever - if you are at the All-Stars or Pop, expect this. In the parks though, I never noticed much. There might be the ocassional shouting cheer, but nothing too obtrusive. I did see a group once try to do a lift in front of the castle for a photo - a CM shut it down real fast! I am sure one's mielage can vary and if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time you may encounter an incosiderate group. If that happens a few times, you might think that all the groups are like that - they are not though.

In the Soarin' queue - yeah, that would be quite loud and annoying. It's pretty echoey in there!

Been at hotels with them both and I don't think it's possible for them to be worst than what I've experienced with the 15s.

Parks .... if they were cheering, especially if competing with a group of 15s, could be nightmarish. 😵‍💫

I was in the parks this past weekend and didn't notice bad behavior. The weekend before was terrible with large groups being very rude. So YMMV based on where you are and when.

I remember taking my Mom to Disney several years ago, as she was elderly we always came back to the resort in the early evening, had a quick dinner at the food court (Port Orleans Riverside) and went to our room so she could watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. We had a courtside view and every evening the cheerleaders would practice. It usually went on for a couple hours and got annoying pretty quickly. Never really noticed anything annoying or obnoxious in the parks though.

They ought to move these cheerleading events outside of Disney and much much closer to home. If they can’t handle themselves in Disney, they don’t deserve to go.
The contract between Varsity and Disney expires soon and some think things have gotten so bad that Disney may not renew similar to the Pop Warner situation.

There is ZERO chance Disney will not renew.

ESPN Wide World of Sports is basically ESPN Wide World of Cheer and Dance when it comes to revenue.

The new venue at ESPN Wide World of Sports,The Arena,is an 8,500 seat venue that is the first of its kind to be built specifically for Cheer and Dance comps!

Mickey loves them(and their Cheese!lol)!

My sister was at Universal this weekend and said it was packed on Sunday at islands as cheerleaders were competing there so it wasn’t just isolated to WDW. They had the express pass because they stayed at portofino and she said the lines for express were crazy long too.

I don't think there is any comparison between the two, and agree removing Pop Warner was a win for Disney, keeping cheer & dance is a win for Disney. There is a big difference in the "adult" supervision of the two.

It seems their biggest "issue" was practicing at the resort at all hours disturbing others. I was one of those yelling at cheerleaders at 2 am to go to bed! I will say my last couple trips with cheer were not impacted at all. Resorts had signs up all over for quiet time and they obeyed it. We simply avoided the food court when they were eating. Although I will say buses were not pleasant. At for that I fully blame the coaches/chaperones. At the parks they seem to break up in smaller groups and "less power in less numbers." Unlike the 15s that are huge groups of bad behaviors.

Like you say, there is a wide association and income across property that comes with cheer & dance. I think they are here for the long haul.

We have been here since Friday and have had some not great experiences with the cheer groups.

FOP - loud and cheering even after 2 CM's asked them to stop, even the chaperones were behaving badly.

Blatant line cutting at TT, 2 chaperones holding a spot for at least 15 cheerleaders who joined 2/3 at a time pushing past those of us waiting.

Leaving AK, several groups lining up at the same time to leave and basically the entire area before the bridge (by the gift shops) was completely inaccessible.

Your report mirrors others I have seen, that the bad behavior by the High School Cheerleaders once their comps ended has been kicked up a notch this year over past years.

And apparently the bad behavior continues at MCO! My niece texted tonight saying that she was hit from behind with a giant rolling bag and told to hurry up and that they were cutting the line to check bags after checking in.
