Mickey Head Ornaments as Favors??

Hi Everyone!

DTD quoted me $12 an ornament for the mickey head ornaments and it was about $9 an ornament to do what we wanted on them (the personalization). I found the ornaments cheaper but I wanted to know how I would go about getting them personalized for cheaper? Does DTD actually do calligraphy? Any ideas? Thanks everyone. The cheaper I can get these the better. My fiance loves this idea, but is not lovin' the price. So, the more money I shave off, the better this idea looks.

we bought mickey christmas ornaments for our families gifts last year. we bought the 4 pack of mickey head ornaments from dtd for $30 each/4pack. we then bought a gold & silver calligraphy craft pen from michaels for $4 & personalized the ornaments ourselves. they turned out great. definetly a do able diy project.

by the way the mickey head ornaments as favors are so cute & memorable.

Wow, thanks so much. That is a fantastic idea. Did you already know how to do calligraphy? I have never done it before. Do you happen to have pics of how they turned out? I would love to see em! Thanks for the tip. I have been doing alot of the things for the wedding myself, why not the ornaments right? I am putting together the reception cds, and cd favors, wreaths, etc. I just have never done calligraphy. Was it hard? Let me know your thoughts if you wouldn't mind.

hi princessmo, i did do calligraphy before but it is pretty easy. just make sure to practice a bit first. there are also some calligraphy books & kits at michaels or you could probably find one at your library. i dont think i have a picture of one but i do have our mickey ornament but its in the attic with the other christmas decorations until november, sorry.

best of luck on the ornament project. i've done some diy for our weddint too, its been fun & money saving.

I will definetly practice first, and check out my library and online resources. I really appreciate the idea. it will definetly be a money saver, and I like doing things myself actually. It is quite fun and relaxing. Good luck with your wedding as well, glad to hear you are doing somethings yourself too. You seem pretty crafty!!

I was almost 100% sure that the four pack of medium mickey heads are $16 plus tax. I have 100's of the suckers but I could be worng but that is 2x as much as I remember paying in april of this year.
