How many lines can you have embroidered on the back of the Mickey ear hats? I have always just gotten my name, but this year I wanted to get the graduation Mickey ears and have my name on one line, and a second line saying MBA 2010 since I'm getting my MBA degree this May. Does anyone know if 2 lines are allowed? Sorry if this is the wrong area to post this, I couldnt think of what forum would be best for this :confused3

While I believe there is room to do this, they may not. According to the rules sent down by Disney legal, nothing other than proper names can be embroidered on ears. That being said, it really depends on the person doing the embroidery. Some are more lenient on this than others. Technically, they should not allow it. If they let you put the phrase you want on your ears, others will ask for different phrases. This could lead to problems because some people will ask for objectionable or copyrighted phrases.

Thanks for the reply. I would have never even thought about the whole "phrase thing", but what you said makes sense. I guess I'll have to see what they say when I get there, what they will allow.

I did get a pair of the gold ears with "Mommy" (From my Dh and kids) in 2007...

I didn't know they only did proper names, but DH said he had to pay extra for the "mommy"

I am hoping for a pair with "Turkey" on them, as a gift for our teen-aged babysitter. My DD who is now 5 used to think her name was Turkey (and not Tori) LOL!:rotfl:

I guarantee you will not get them to emroider "Turkey" on any ears. :goodvibes I am really surprised they did "Mommy". When I worked for Disney, we had exact guidelines of what was allowed. Things like
"Mommy", "Nana", etc. were not allowed.

Do you think if I give them the real life sob story they may let me? She is 16 and faced with a chronic, severe illness and she'll be undergoing a bone marrow transplant this summer. Which is why I wanted the ears so bad ;) yet another headcovering for her for when she loses her hair. Something to cheer her up while she's in the hospital...I dont expect her to wear them outside of the hosp?

You can try, but I doubt it. Most of the CMs follow the rules pretty closely. Ever so often, I'll see someone wearing a hat with a name that is against the rules. In such case, they were just lucky to get that one CM who really doesn't care about the rules.

Unfortunately, so many people try to pull things over on the CMs that most don't believe stories they are told. Sad, but you wouldn't believe some of the things people try to get away with. My sister is a CM. Awhile back, a CM she works with put through an order for a name in Spanish. The person who ordered it swore that the word was a name. It turned out to be a not very nice word. The CM who took the order didn't speak Spanish, but others in the shop did and they caught it before they did the embroidery. People try just about anything.
