Ok, finally an update coming below!!

We woke up on Thursday morning pretty early—it was, after all, our LAST park day! :sad2:

It’s a tradition for us to go to Magic Kingdom on the last day, and this trip was no different. It was a little cloudy when we left the Wilderness Lodge, but nothing to get us too concerned. When we got to Magic Kingdom, we were right at the turnstiles (they hadn’t opened yet). D was in his stroller, waiting on us to be let through into the middle to watch the opening show, when all of a sudden. . .

HERE CAME THE RAIN!!!!

Not just sprinkles, not just warning rain—oh no, this was a HUGE monsoonish rain!

The CMs started screaming for everyone to cram under the overhangs over the turnstiles. Well, by that point, people were stretched all the way back to the monorail walkways, so that was a lot of people. The one CM in front of us was SO mad and screaming at Brian to fold up the stroller. The only problem was that so many people had already packed in, poor D was halfway under the turnstile, and there was NO way to get it folded up. Finally, we managed to get people to scoot back enough that we could get it taken care of, and so we waited under the overhang with a million of our closest friends while the rain came through! ;)

It did clear in about 20 minutes, and they let us in. Here is our pic from that point:

After the show (it was the modified one), it was off to finish our trip up right!

We headed straight for Dumbo, but it was down from the rain. So we went over to try Buzz Lightyear. I thought D would like it because it was Buzz. . .I could not have been more wrong. He hated it. Not as bad as Splash Mountain, but pretty darn close. He is very sound-sensitive, and the noise in the queue was a little more than would work for him. We finally got on the ride, but he couldn’t stop crying to enjoy it. We skipped the ride photo for that one :rotfl:

The nice CM working the front of Buzz saw D crying, and asked him what ride he wanted to ride. D said (insert whimpering 3-year-old voice): “I JUST wanted to ride DUMBO, and it’s BROKE”. So the guy called over to Dumbo to make sure it was working so that we could go ride it! Thank you, wonderful Buzz Lightyear CM! You made my sad child happy!! :thumbsup2

We headed over to Dumbo and did one final ride for this trip!

After that, we split up. I went to get in line for Merida, and D & Brian headed to drive!

IMG_1418.jpg

It kept looking like rain (yes, again!), but it held off. About the time I got to Merida, here came D & Brian, so they were able to get in the picture with me.

D wasn’t too thrilled with the Merida idea, but he LOVED the bears!! He thought that was the greatest meet and greet ever!

After meeting Merida, we went by the castle and NO ONE was in front of it! So, of course, D and I had to get a picture!

We also ran into the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It parade!

By that point, it was getting warm and humid, and D was about to his limit. We decided we’d just do lunch at Roaring Forks and head on back. But first. . .one more stop!

sorry for the tears on Buzz, but so sweet of the CM to make them go away!
cute photo with Merida!

So sorry to hear Big D didn't like the Buzz queue.. ;( Next time hopefully he can go with my boys... they'll keep him so entertained he won't hear the noises...

I love the MK downpours.. Your MK day sounds like our Epcot days! Out of nowhere.. wham downpour!!!

Thanks, ladies!

D is now all about trying the Buzz ride next time. . .he has made his own "lizard" (that would be "laser" in D speak) out of Legos to practice!

Next update below!

Our little bit of “Mickey Magic”!

I was a little let down on the way out. . .you know that sad feeling when it’s your last day? We were all a little tired, it was muggy, and I wanted it to end on a high note! I wanted to go see Mickey & Minnie one more time, but as we approached the meet and greet area, the wait was bout 35 minutes. I knew D would never make it that long. We were standing there debating what to do, and all of a sudden, right before my eyes, the time changed to 5 minutes. It happened so quickly that I thought I was dreaming!

We took off to get over there and went right in! So thankful for the Mickey Magic that helped us “say goodbye” to Mickey and Minnie!

From there, it was back to the Wilderness Lodge to relax and unwind!

hope you all have a fun day! what's Mr. D going to be?

Thanks, Lisa! That photo is one of my favorites, too!

D was a Lightning McQueen pit crew guy! He had a blast! I hope you all had a fun Halloween, too!

We were so glad we did that meal—in fact, we booked it again for our upcoming trip!

While we were there, though, the Noah’s Ark flood came in! I have never seen that much rain in my life!

I had intended to spend our last night strolling around Downtown Disney, but instead, it was a mad sprint to the bus!!

We came back to the room and packed and packed and packed and packed. . .I don’t know where all of that stuff came from! ;) We got in bed about 11 pm and had the alarm set for 3 am. . .Magical Express was coming early!

Can you believe. . .just one more post and my trip report is finished?? Wow!!

dinner looks yummy!

wow a non scrunchy nose photo from D! he has such pretty eyes!
sorry for all the rain you had, but it was Disney rain :thumbsup2
well with this being your next to last post, now you can start your PTR for the next trip!

we did have a good halloween, Megan was a 80's girl and got about 5 lbs of candy...luckily she doesn't like about half of it, so donating it to school for incentive days!

Ooh!! I love the 80's girl idea! D got tons of candy, too! I sent it to Brian's work to be divvied out! :thumbsup2

Ok, last post for this trip report coming up!

Friday morning came very early! We loaded everything up and headed out!

This was a WONDERFUL trip—thanks for reading along!

Things I learned from this trip:

1. Down time works for us! We enjoyed having time to just hang out in the pool or relax at the resort!
2. The Wilderness Lodge is WONDERFUL!! We had intended to go to the Polynesian for our 2013 trip. When we got home from this trip, D said, “Momma, please don’t make me stay at the Polynesian! I want to stay at Wilderness Lodge!” :rotfl: I can’t wait to go back there!
3. Fulton’s was definitely worth it!
4. The Disney Magic is still alive and well in our family! We loved all of it—maybe not the rain, maybe not the loud sounds (well, at least not D), but there is nothing like family time at Disney!

Thanks for reading along and enjoying this trip with us! We went to the DVC resort in Hilton Head in October, and I’m going to do a trip report for that! I’m also going to do a Pre-Trip Report for our Mega Birthday Bash coming up in March 2013! I will probably get at least one of those started in the next few days! I’ll post a link here, in case you want to join me (I hope I haven’t bored you to tears!)

Thanks for sharing in our magic! :wizard:

I was just going to get on you about "working" so hard today...

So sorry little man is sick today.. :( boo!!!

What a wonderful trip!!!

Off to the next trip report... :) On my way!!! I'm running!!!

hope Mr. D feels better! going over to check out your new TR...
