Calling all DVC Michiganders!! I am from Southeast Michigan!!

Would love to know who else out there is from Michigan! (and enjoying this sudden heat wave) It makes me close my eyes and pretend that I am at WDW enjoying a nice cool Dole Whip.

We've been members since 1992 - when OKW was The Disney Vacation Club! And, yes, it is nice that Michigan is getting summer weather this year and we do live in the SE Michigan area - there's a few of us around - I seem to remember the Meet board as a place to find some.

I like the heat, but not when I am working...ballistic vest, wool pants, collared shirt and work boots are not comfortable when working outdoors in 90 degree heat.

But I'll take the heat over lake-effect snowstorms ANY day.

Can I post since I'm a DVC wannabe? We are heading to OKW for our first DVC stay in about 5 weeks (rented points). Hoping this trip will convince dh that DVC is a good plan for us. Since we are a family of 7, the extra space, kitchen and laundry are invaluable.

I am using this weather to get me prepped for our first August trip to Dis. Especially since we have no a/c. Hey mbhoxsie, can I come over for a Dole Whip????

Checking in from Kalamazoo--We just bought at SSR and then our central AC went out. Oh well--when it rains, it pours! We're heading to OKW in November--can't wait!!

Hi All

Have been members since 2004...wish we would have bought years ago though.
Went twice last year (July and Xmas). My family be going on the Disney Dream next August. DH and I going on RCCL Oasis to try a change.
DH and I were just saying the Michigan weather feels like being in Florida. I love it better than our cold winters...in fact trying to talk DH to move in ten years or so after retirement (2nd retirement for me)

Southeast MI - sad to say My DH and I moved here from the east coast and while I absolutely LOVE the summers here... I HATE the winters. Also trying to get the hubby to commit to hitting the road soon via early retirement - ahhhh snowbirds - sounds good to me!

One of the few from W. Michigan here.. I don't mind the heat, I kind of like it - of course central air helps. I don't like having to run in the humidity though..
