Day 7 Thu 8 Feb, warm and sunny.

Our first day at Epcot. I had a feeling this was going to be our favourite park, and I was right! We arrive just before opening, it is very quiet. We don't see any opening ceremony but maybe we just missed it. We head straight for The Land and Soarin'. The boys admire the decorated wall at the entrance to The Land, we enter and make our way downstairs. We walk straight on to Soarin and get the first row! We all love this ride, although I hadn't expected to be lifted up. We get some FPs for another go later.

We then go on the Living with the Land boat ride, this is enjoyable and we have fun spotting the different fruit and vegetables being grown. The new Nemo ride is next on the list, the boys like the seagulls outside saying 'mine!'! DS2 loves the ride, it is very bright and colourful with a jolly tune. The waiting areas are very nicely themed although we walk straight through today. The Turtle Talk with Crush theatre is closed for maintenance so we don't get to see this, but the boys play in a Nemo themed play area and have a quick look at the other exhibits. I take DS2 on the Nemo ride again while the others go to get some Fastpasses for Test Track.

We meet up at the Imagination Pavilion and go on the Figment ride, very colourful with an annoying tune which the boys sing all day! We spend lots of time playing in the Kodak labs and manage to send an e-mail to Grandma (you have to say you are at least 13 to send anything!) DS2 doesn't want to see the Honey I Shrunk the Audience film so we get FPs for later, and admire the dancing water fountains.

Next stop is Sunshine Seasons back in The Land for an early lunch of stir-fry, very tasty! This is a great cafe with lots of different choices and lots of room to sit. All the food looks very fresh and we enjoy our lunch. We then head round to Spaceship Earth which is quite enjoyable but feels like it should be speeded up a bit!

As we had left a bag in a locker at Magic Kingdom two days ago, we get on the monorail to go to the TTC where the Lost and Found office is. We locate this office and thankfully retrieve our bag. A CM gives the boys some plastic pirate money as it is the Pirate and Princess Party tonight. It is quite warm and we are wilting a bit. We are kept amused by the number of people who seem to be getting on the 'wrong' monorail, eg. going to Epcot when they wanted MK! Are the signs not big enough?!! We return to Epcot and DH puts the bag in the car while we sit on a bench and decide our strategy for the afternoon.

We head for Test Track and use FPs obtained earlier. We love this ride, apart from DS2 who thinks it's a bit too fast. DH and DS1 do Mission Space Green and enjoy it but feel it's a bit tame! DS2 and I do Nemo and Soarin again!

Top of the boys' list at that point is an ice cream. Unlike MK, where we had seen several places selling ice cream, I hadn't spotted anywhere at Epcot, so we went to Guest Services to enquire. We explained that we wanted proper dairy ice cream and they said the best place was Beaches and Cream. Of course I had heard of this but was rather surprised that there was nowhere in the park selling 'proper' ice cream! The boys are not fond of the pre-packaged ice creams that were generally on offer. After some debate we decided to walk over to Beaches and Cream. We enjoy the walk and admire the Beach Club swimming pool which looks very refreshing on a warm day. We are seated immediately, DS1 and I share a brownie sundae, DS2 has a mint cone and DH misguidedly orders a Banana Split! The ice creams are very yummy and we like the restaurant very much, the only problem is we have an ADR at Le Cellier in an hour's time!!!

We walk round the Boardwalk and catch a boat back to Epcot. We walk through the United Kingdom and on to Canada where we check in for our dinner at Le Cellier. The boys do a Kidcot activity while we wait for our table.

Le Cellier is a beautiful restaurant and our server is very friendly. DH is still feeling rather full from his icecream so he declines a starter. I have a pecan and blue cheese salad which is gorgeous, the others dig in to the breadsticks and some carrot and celery sticks with ranch dressing. I have a Torontopolitan which is very nice! I have the Mushroom Filet which comes with risotto, this is lovely and not too big but very rich. DH has a steak with BBQ sauce, DS1 has pizza and DS2 has a kid's steak with fries which is as big as mine! We share S'mores for dessert which sounded better than they tasted. We enjoy our meal here but wish we had been more hungry!

We are not planning to stay for Illuminations tonight, so DH and DS1 go and see Honey I shrunk the Audience, while DS2 and I squeeze in another go on Soarin and Nemo again! We leave the park around 7.15pm, planning to return on Saturday.

Tomorrow is a 'rest' day (actually, AK, Blizzard Beach and Cirque du Soleil!).

Good to see another day.:thumbsup2

We also really like Seasons for the variety of things they do and because it never feels crowded.

What a wonderful day for your first ever visit to Epcot
