Not a big fan of the music even in the early 80's at his heydey(I was a teen then). But there is no denying the influence he had on both the music scene and the fledgling video industry. There may not have been a greater ambassador for peace and caring in the entertainment industry.

I was really struck by his sisters appearance on the The View this past week, really reminded me how talented he was and that he gave credit to kids that had been doing his dance moves for years - I guess he always reminded people that he wasn't the first to moon walk and that he picked it up and added to it, like a lot of his moves. very cool and of course he is so influential in so many aspects of pop culture like others have mentioned.
