Michael Jackson Estate -- MJ Belts Are Bogus!

An extremely fancy belt commemorating Michael Jackson -- and allegedly "sanctioned" by Joe Jackson and Katherine Jackson -- can be yours for the bargain basement price of $1,500 -- problem is ... the whole thing may be illegal.



Check out this picture we got -- showing Joe and Katherine Jackson signing one of the belts ... and according to the official website promoting the belts, MJ's three kids -- Prince, Paris, and Blanket -- also signed their names.

Here's the problem. The belts feature several images trademarked by Michael Jackson -- including dancing feet, MJ's silhouette and the MJ crest -- and MJ's estate must authorize any commercial use of those trademarks, as well as MJ's name or image.


So of course we called MJ estate lawyer Howard Weitzman, who said the belts were news to him and that the executors never authorized the sale. Weitzman says, "The Trustees of the Estate of Michael Jackson did not authorize the making or the sale of the Michael Jackson Tribute Belts." Weitzman continues, "We would never condone the use of Michael's children's signatures to promote the sale of merchandise."

We haven't found out who's behind the website ... but Jerry Olivarez, a PR guy and friend of the Jackson family, has been touting the sale of the belts. We're told the site goes live today and 7,000 belts will go up for sale. And, there will be an auction for the belt signed by Joe, Katherine, and the kids -- opening bid is $5 grand.

Attempts to speak with Olivarez were unsuccessful.

Liza Minnelli shared intimate moments between herself and her late pal, music icon Michael Jackson, when she appeared on Wednesday's "The Joy Behar Show."


She said that after her marriage to David Gest didn't work out, she asked Michael, "Why did you let me marry this idiot?"


Liza explained that Michael responded, "I thought you liked him! You looked so happy; your dress was so pretty… I don't know!"

"I said, 'Michael, how could you?' and he said, 'It's over, relax,' and then we looked at each other and we started to laugh," Liza told Joy.

LMAO!! This sounds so Michael! LOL!!! Cute!

I'm not sure where to put him. We have a game room and a movie room. Maybe one of those. Probably the movie room. I'd hate to have to strangle some neighbor kid for flinging an air hokey puck at him.

I see that they are selling squares for a quilt for each Katherine, Prince, Paris and Blanket. I think I'm buying one for Blanket's quilt. Today is the LAST DAY you can buy a square. I just found out about it today.
Anyway, I stumbled along this:

I just bought a sqaure on Blanket's quilt.
My name will be "beautifully written by a volunteer artist" on my square, which be part of his quilt.
Isnt that the sweetest thing that they're doing?
Katherine and Paris's quilts were sold out. But I would have picked Blankets quilt anyway. He shares a birthday with one of my kids, so there is a bond.
Michael and I became third time parents on the same day.



I hope he finds comfort cuddled into his new quilt. I imagine they will try to get them to them on the anniversary day.
