I am going to book a hotel for my daughter for the night before their cruise, which leaves on 1/13 out of Miami. They do not fly in until 9:00 the night before, so they will only need a place to sleep for that night. I am looking for recommendations for a hotel that makes sense location-wise and is clean, which seems especially important this month. I did a search on here and was looking at the EB Hotel and thought I could get them a DCL transfer to port as it is a partner hotel. However, it is a little pricey for arriving so late and i am not sure how to go about booking the transfer. They do not have an arrival time yet which I thought they would. They can just Uber, which was probably their plan anyway.
Thank you so much for any recommendations you have!

I have a similar question. My family is sailing out of Miami on 3/14, and will be flying in around 8 pm the night before. Normally I would plan to stay near the port, but with the later arrival time, I wonder if it's better to stay near the airport? Also, has anyone stayed at Miami International Airport Hotel, which their website says is inside MIA airport?

Take a look at the Blue Lagoon area, close to the airport and the hotels have free airport shuttles. The Hilton offers a package including breakfast and transfers to the port. I would not recommend the airport hotel.

POM is not far from MIA so no need to stay extra close like MCO and PC. Taxi/Lyft/Uber will all be available and less than $30.

I stayed at the Courtyard Miami Airport In November. Free shuttle for multiple Marriott properties sharing the same gated campus. I would stay there again if the rate was good. The shuttle runs until 1am. The hotel website says taxi is approximately $8.

They offered transfers to Port if Miami for $12 pp (scheduled). Sign-up was at the desk. I used Lyft due to my inability to climb into a Sprinter van (new, with no little footstool).

After the cruise, taxis to the airport offer a flat rate of $27.

Port of Miami is so much closer to most of Miami than Port Canaveral is to MCO - and definitely than WDW.

You can pick nearly anywhere east of the airport, using your own criteria for hotels, and have a nice drive to the cruise in the morning.

We got into MIA @ 10pm for a Virgin cruise we took last month and stayed at the EB Hotel as I read that is one DCL uses and I trust what they use is good. The hotel and staff is really nice, we enjoyed it. Free shuttle from airport to hotel, you just call them when you get there and they pick you up, took like five minutes, it’s close. Got an Uber next day to port, was roughly $30, super easy. The front desk guy said he could arrange for a transport for us, but suggested we take Uber instead because it would be cheaper. We would stay there again.

We wanted a hotel near the airport so after countless searches (wanted a Marriott property as we have a free night reward) decided on the Courtyard Marriott airport. They have a shuttle from airport to hotel but I think we will rent a car so we can go from place to place the day before cruise (we land at 10:00 am so have the whole day). Then we will return the car the morning of the cruise back to the airport and take the free shuttle the rental car office offers to the port. If we decide not to rent the car we will take hotel shuttle to their property and then uber or taxi to port.

Thank you all so much! I ended up booking the Hampton Inn South Blue Lagoon. I will be update here after their stay for anyone else who may be looking for a hotel.

A few years ago we stayed at the Marriott right near the port. Nice balcony, we were on an upper floor, great view. Nearly walking distance to the port (if we didn’t have all of our luggage). It was a beautiful morning and a pleasant surprise to go out on the balcony and see the Magic in all her glory just waiting for us!
