MHT airport parking

we are flying out of MHT in January. We usually fly out of PVD as it's easier to get to from our house ~ I hate going through Boston but I just switched our flights on SW from PVD to MHT to save money and we got a better flight time. When we fly out of PVD we use Airport Valet.

I did see the airport parking options on the MHT website, but are there any other options off airport property like Airport Valet for less money than MHT parking? Or is it better to park in the garage ($70 max per week) If the garage is recommended, we will be parking for 8 days...would the price be $70 for the week plus one day ($15)? Not sure how that works. DH said he would prefer the gargage over the lots in case it snows while we are away.

TIA!

I often fly out of MHT, and I park at the Highlander Inn lot which is adjacent to MHT. This is the link in case you are interested http://www.highlanderinn.com/pnf.html
If you are an AAA member, you can park for $7 per day. You check in at the booth and follow the shuttle to a parking spot. You then get on the shuttle for the quick trip to the airport. The driver assists you with your luggage. When you return, you use one of the courtesy phones to call their number, and you are picked up and taken to your car. The driver makes sure that everthing is OK with your car including scraping off snow! You can even make a reservation in case you are going during a busy time.

Lizzie - scraping off, fine, but what about digging out? :teeth: I've used Airport Valet, and afair, they do dig out your car and drive to you.

cepmom - Yes, if you park for over seven twenty-four-hour periods, you will need to pay for the extra day. On the other hand, I agree with your husband - I'd rather be in the garage (away from the walls, but I don't recall how open the sides are - in the winter! I have a variety of parking options for my next trip, but I chose the one that involves my car in an underground garage and me paying a taxi for the five mile, $20 ride to Logan - unless it's snowing the day I leave, in which case I take the T.

We used Highlander before, we thought they were great. We flew last year in January. I stayed in the nice warm van with the kids, while my husband warmed up and cleaned the snow offf the car. :thumbsup2

So you don't have to stay at their hotel to use their parking lot? We almost always fly out of MHT and I knew the Highlander had a AAA rate for parking but I just assumed it was only available if you were staying at their hotel the night before. We're flying to MCO in 11 days so I might try out the Highlander parking this time since I have AAA. :thumbsup2

okay...that will not fly with DH :guilty: First thing he said when I told him I switched us to MHT was "park in the garage so I won't need to clean off snow".

Thanks for the replies. :)

There is even more of a discount for parking if you spend the night at the Highlander Inn; however, you do not have to be staying there to get the AAA rate of $7 a day. I really like the idea of being able to reserve a spot when traveling during peak times.

We love parking at the Highlander. Already have our reservation for Jan. If you stay at the hotel the night before ( we have 2X) for early morning flights it is $4/day. We enjoy how they bring you right to your car.

Huh. They didn't brush off our car at the Highlander when we parked there in January! We do like the cheaper rate though, and their service to & from is great.

Anywho, I was going to suggest springing for the garage in the winter so you don't have to fool around brushing off & digging out your car when you return.

I just returned from a trip and parked my car at the Highlander Inn. I was surprised to learn that the AAA rate is no longer honored. I had reserved the parking several months ago, and the person checking me in still refused to honor the AAA rate. This in combination with a longer than usual wait for the shuttle to pick me up has me rethinking using this parking option!! :scratchin
