MGM Street Performers

OK, Francis (or anyone else who might know), I have a question for you. What is the name of the character with the red hair and the red and black dress (the one in Miranda's pictures above)? The reason I ask is because she struck up a conversation with my 8 year old daughter this past January, and they talked for a good 15 minutes. In the course of the conversation, we found out that this certain character was "expecting" and was very interested in using my daughter's name for her new little one, saying it would be nice to know that she had a namesake out there somewhere. She also said if we come back later in the year, we should look for her, but in a smaller dress size!! My daughter absolutely loved her, as did my husband and I, but we forgot to get her name! I have a picture, but it would take me a while to post it. Could you tell me her name please so I can write about our daughter's new friend in our scrapbook along with the picture??? Thanks!!
What a neat story!!! The characters are so funny and so personable as well. That's why I love them so much! :lovestruc I am sorry I can't answer your question, but that is so neat! What is your daughter's name that she loved so much?

Susan,

Here's a SPECIAL SCOOP for DISfolks especially!!! Even if you go to Guest Relations and ask them what times we'll be out there, they often do not know. Their JOB is to CALL US and find out but they've been bad about that lately. So, simply ask them to call us to find out. They have to.

Best,

Francis Floot
Thanks so much for that tip. I DID go to Guest Relations once and ask them what times the Streetmosphere characters would be out. Their response "Oh, they don't give us their schedule-they kinda work it out among themselves." No offer to call, and I didn't think to ask. Next time I will-thanks.

Does anybody know from which time period Terry and Jerry Klothz (the tacky tourist couple) are supposed to be from? Traditionally, the Citizens of Hollywood come from anywhere between 1930 and 1949, but when Jerry commented on my Homestar Runner T-shirt and sat in chairs sold at Wal-Mart, it made me think.

Anyone have any background on this? Miranda? Francis? Beuller... Beuller...

Francis? Are you by any chance....a bellows mender? Do you have "a beard coming"?

Shakespeare fan here.....

Here's my contirbution to Francis pictures! This would be him and my younger brother!
I'm hoping for a lovely snapshot with you Francis, as well!!! :teeth:

Wow! This thread has really piqued my interest!! We usually go over to Epcot for the entertainment. This trip we'll definately have to head to MGM to get our entertainment for the week. How do you find the "Citizens"?? Are they on the main street or the street with TOT is (I think Sunset Blvd.?)??

Francis, I'm going to track you down during my trip in early May!! :thumbsup2 LOL!

Dear Karibeth,

The lady you are wonderin' 'bout is Celebrity Gossip Columnist Chloe Canard. She's the sassiest gossip in town. And it's true, she's expectin'! (Though I am always wonderin' WHAT she's expectin'...) I told her that her pictures were posted here. She was laughing at the fact that the ONE DAY she decided to wear her SLIPPERS on the street (she had the gout that day!) THOSE pictures ended up on the internet!

For Jim, I would like to say that Stone Granite and the Great HP have left the street. HOWEVER, Mister Granite is enjoying a new role as "Gaston" in that big ol' Broadway play, "Beauty and the Beast," off Sunset Boulevard. The Great HP left town only to send in his twin brother, Hollywood Talent Agent "Jack Diamond." Funny thing is, Jack knows all the very same card tricks that HP knew!

Dear BuddyGenie,

Mary and Terry Cloth were contemporary. That is part of the reason why the Big BRass cut them loose. They want to convey the era of the 1940's with more devotion.

As a matter of fact, you'll notice a LOT more of the typical 1940's lingo happening on the street next time you visit. Mister mayer made us all take "Hollywood Lingo" classes during our big rehearsals recently.

I gotta scram! I have to see a stuffed shirt about a walk-on part in a tearjerker!

I am sad about Mary and Terry :guilty:

They were some of my favs...... I even have a picture of them with me and the fiancee framed in my bedroom!!!!! I will miss them! :wave2:

Thanks Francis! What about Captain Sideman, Skip to My Lou, Roman Holiday, and Myron? Can we find them anyplace? Also, we love you guys and have watched you many times... we will look for some of our photos and post them up.

Thanks again.

Don't be sad! Find Talent Agent Jack Diamond and you'll see how VERY SIMILAR he is to The Great HP! Trust me. :)

Thanks Francis, you guys are great! We look forward to seeing you again on our next trip down from NY (hopefully this May).

Take care.

Jim

Thanks so much for reposting the pictures. Sure glad I came back to this thread. Those were so funny and great. I will make sure to keep my eyes open for the street performers on our next trip.

Thats good to hear. Can't wait to see him.

I remember my moment with The Great HP. I was part of his card trick act, when my cell phone goes off. My sister was calling (from a nearby bench!), and kindly instructed me "not to give that man any money." HP still went on with his little show.

I wonder if Talent Agent Jack Diamond will recognize me as the guy who HP knows?
