Being a huge MGM fan, we visited there 7 times last week during our vacation. There are so many things to do at MGM, but we surprisingly got them all done (except ToT). One of my favorite things at MGM is the street performers. They are hilarious!!! If you have never sat down and watched their shows, I highly recommend it. It is a great way to rest and have a good laugh. They dress up as these extravagently hilarious characters and they put on a variety of shows. Also, sometimes they dress up as funky tourists or little kids and walk around the park. I am going to post a few of the pictures I took of them during my last trip:

Here is two of the actors dressed up like crazy tourists. They were walking around and people were staring at them with no clue that they were actors. It was so funny. Finally, I went up to them and asked for a picture. I look funny in the picture because when the girl taking the picture said, "Say cheese!" The guy on the far right said, "I can't! I'm lactose inolerant!" It was so funny!

This was during a spelling bee that they had set up. It was so hilarious!!!!

This guy was dressed up as a five year old named "Clooney" and his mom was running around after him trying to put sunscreen on him. He was screaming, I want to go to Playhouse Disney Live!" I could not help but notice the parallels to MAD TV's Stuart. Ya'll know what I am talking about, right? :rotfl:

This guy was a smooth talking Hollywood man. He was pretty funny. Cocky, but funny.

This girl has been at MGM for at least a year because I remember her doing skits last year when I visited. She is very funny and her voice is hilarious (borderline annoying).

Here is that same girl doing a part in a skit.

OK, so basically I am trying to encourage ya'll to watch these shows! They are so hilarious and creative. Kids and adults will love them. Does anyone know anything about these actors and actresses???? :rotfl2:

Great pictures and descriptions Miranda!! I admit we've never spent much time watching them! There are so many things in WDW we still haven't done. It's on the list! :teeth:

Thank you!!! And I definitely agree--- so MUCH to do!!!! It was such a nice trip this time because we had 8 days in 4 parks. MGM definitely got the majority of our time though and that is why were were able to see these guys so much. I think they don't get enough credit. They come out with vague story plots, but they improv just about the whole rest of the thing. They are AMAZING! :cool1:

We loved the plumber skit... had to watch it two times!!!

ME TOO! Isn't that the one where they were like, "The winner gets a free tour of all of the underground plumming in Hollywood!!!"??????

I agree with you completely-they're the most entertaining thing at MGM-not saying that to downplay anything else, just to say how terrific they are. What made me sad was that the "tourists" were sitting right in the middle of the Main Street one morning, making humorous comments, etc., yet so many people just walked right by them in a hurry to get to RnR or ToT. Yet, the best performance is right in front of them! I just wish there was some type of entertainment schedule so I'd have an idea when they're performing and be sure to see them.

& Pic's too....We are on the 20 day mark....My kids& hubby are more excited about MGM than any other park....both boys and all Star Wars Freaks....By the way....how long did it take you to drive to Orlando from P'cola???? (assuming you drove)...

My DW and I enjoy them, also! We watched a couple skits last trip: a spelling bee which was won by a 4 year old boy; and, a hilarious one about the mystery of a missing dog. :rotfl2: Thanks for the pics!

I am so glad to hear I am not the only one that loves these guys!!!!! I saw the spelling bee one (which was one by a VERY timid 8 y.o. girl), but I missed the missing dog. :guilty: I am sure it was hilarious though! :goodvibes

I have seen this happen as well! Some people hate the performers. I saw some people almost push them down trying to get somewhere else. When the guy dressed as the 5 y.o. named Clooney went up to a kid and said, "I'm Clooney and I'm 5" the kid scowled at him and said, "Yeah, well I am older than you." I was like, "Whoa! A-TI-TUDE!" :teeth:

Thanks, disneyfan5! I did get your email and I responded, but I guess it din't go through. I have never used that method before. Sorry it didn't work! That is cool that you live nearby. How often do you go to WDW?

Hello, We go wayyyyyyy to often... Lets just say usually 3 to 4 times a year.. We just got back in Feb. and we leave on May 27th again to go back for 11 days.. We also left the day after Ivan hit, and stayed for 2 weeks then took a cruise for a week, Hey, what else was there to do with no power, water, tv, school, work.. sounded good to us, and we had a blast. We go often. And just so you know I actually live in Milton, pea ridge area. Its so cool, its not often you find someone who gets the magic and fun you know.. :cool1:

The performers are our favorite part of MGM. However, this last trip we did not see any. Our they absent when it is hot and crowded? We will go next duing summer or spring break. Do the crowds drive them away?

We recognized the blond lady in the picture. She was in the Glee Club when we were there in Dec. My DD7 just said, "I remember her, she was funny!!"

I wonder how much $$$$ they make doing the little skits. I would guess not much since Disney is notorious for paying low wages, but a girl in my boyfriend's PT Masters program @UCF, her hubby was a dancer/gymnast for the Tarzan show and he made upwards of $45,000 per year. This wasn't fulltime work either. I dunno.... I would LOVE to be a street performer but I laugh WAY too easliy! :rotfl:

My son was the spelling bee contestant a couple years ago, and it was an absolute trip highlight. I love these characters, too. We've seen a really funny one with a starlit hanging out of an upstairs window talking to her agent.

Since I love everything about MGM, I know what you are talking about. I love the skits, the shows, and most of all, when the Blues Brothers come out and sing.

MGM is my favourite park. When we went the entertainers were doing a dating game thing and the blonde lady was the host and the smooth talking hollywood man was one of the contestants. they had 2 other actors as contestants and they picked women off the street to be the picker. She had to sit with her back to the contestants while they answered their questions with some very funny actions that she couldnt see but the croud could.
