OK- hope no-one minds, but I'm going to make three threads for this (one for each park)

As we have young kids, parades and shows are more our kind of thing than the thrill rides. I'm probably not going to see all of them, but wanted to gather some info (and thought others might be interested. So here goes:

What is your favourite show at the MGM (apart from Fantasmic)?

What's the best time to catch it (i.e. morning, evening)?

What are the lines/wait times like for it during busy season? (we'll be there August)

How long does it last?

Is it indoor/outdoor (hot or cool!)?

Any input much appreciated

MGM has a very nice Beauty and the Beast show. It's in an open covered theater. The show lasts (I'm guessing) about 25 minutes. It's my favorite show at MGM. It's kind of an abridged version of the Broadway show. Well worth going to see.:D

My favorite is the Muppets in 3-D. It is inside a theater; the pre-show (which is hysterical!) is about 12 minutes and shown in a room where everyone must stand, but there are many tv-like screens, so visibility is great. The main show is in a sit-down theater and is extremely well done. Everyone gets a pair of purple 3-D glasses. It is about 15-18 minutes long. The special 3-D effects are amazing and everyone from kids to seniors seems to enjoy the show. The main theme of the show is that the Muppets are doing a "salute to all countries, but mostly America" and their includes Kermit, Bean, "the two old guys" trading insults to the cast, Miss Piggy, the orchestra made up of Penguins, Sam Eagle, etc. It is a not-miss for my gang!

Another vote for Beauty and the Beast. It's well done and very entertaining.

A vote against the Indiana Jones Stunt Specacular. We put off seeing it for the first few visits to MGM, and finally saw it this month. We won't go see it again - a big disappointment.

Another vote for Beauty and the Beast - wonderful, although it is outdoors and HOT in the theatre. We also loved Voyage of the Little Mermaid - indoors, and Ursula is a little scary. We went there at park opening and the exit dumped us out at the entrance to Playhouse Disney. Of course, the PHD theatre had just filled when we got tp to the line. Maybe if you sat on the far left side of the Mermaid show you could get right in - who knows? Indiana Jones is fun, but we never got around to it with our girls and they weren't really interested as they have never heard of Indiana Jones in the first place! Have fun planning your trip!!

Another vote for the Muppets.. Its what I plan on doing First on our trip down to Disney.

Beauty and the Beast for sure. This is my favorite show at WDW. It's basically a 30-minute version of the film told through the musical numbers. It's very entertaining and definatly a not-to-be-missed attraction.

My DS 4 and DD 20 mos. loved the shows at MGM. My son's favorite was Muppets. We walked right in at about 9:40. We probably had the best reaction from my DD at Beauty and the Beast. She loved the music and dancing. We went to that in the afternoon and had no problems with a wait, but we were there during a slower time of the year. I would get a FP for Little Mermaid when it is hotter because it is air conditioned! Of course, they both loved Playhouse Disney. You have to wait in a line outside for this one. We got there about a half hour early. The show is inside, and you sit on the floor.

Still another vote for Beauty & The Beast. Try to get there early; the a capella group Four for a Dollar performs on certain days of the week, and they're outstanding.

Humorous, too. It's worth checking the schedule at the link posted in the previous post to see if you can catch them while you're there.

Close second . . . Little Mermaid. Nice & cool.

Thanks for all the replies (and the link- great info!).

My dd (2yo) LOVES Beauty and the Beast- we never caught it last year, so this year it's going to be a must. Beast is her favourite character and she squeals every time she sees him. Good to know that it's outside- guess it's a first thing in the morning or an evening show for us then.

The Muppets is a great show too- my ds will really love it.

Thanks again

Joanna
