You might get more replies if you ask this on the Theme Park Attractions & Strategies board.

I'm not certain as to what exactly was your problem that you need a solution to? Exiting the park? Or seeing Fantasmic?

I have a similar question because we will be going in may on a night when ther is only one 9p.m. showing of Fantasmic. Can anyone tell me how the crowds are leaving when there is only one showing? Any strategies to get out of the park and get to the bus stop quicker :earseek: Also, since MGM closes at 9p.m. that night and the busses are only supposed to run an hour after park closing what happens if you get to the bus stop at or after 10 p.m.? :guilty:

Well, you might not want to do this, but we left when the boat comes out with all the characters on it. We had heard this was the last of the show, so we just left and walked fast to the exit. We made the first bus out. You could actually see the mob of people coming down the walkway behind us. But worth not waiting forever!!

Head the way of the strollers, on the left hand sid facing out. All the people with strollers will be hunting for theirs and you just walk through. Then go through the stores and makes for less crowded way to get otu of the park. (Unless you see something you just have to have while in the store!)

Thanks :goodvibes Has anyone ever missed a bus back to their resort because they didn't make it to the bus stop before 10?

Yes, at EPCOT. We were at Test Track at closing time and the CMs had let us ride three or so times in a row without getting out of the car. We had great fun but lost track of time. It was probably 20 min. or so past the official ending time of bus service when we arrived at the bus stops. I don't remember if they have one of these at MGM or not, but at the EPCOT bus stop area there is a booth with a couple CMs inside. We told them our situation and they called a "special" bus for us. We had it all to ourselves (family group of 12)! So that worked out okay for us but I wouldn't risk being late on purpose-- I guess they could have made us call a cab!

I forgot to mention -- when we watch Fantasmic we just sit on the bench and let everyone else leave in front of us at the end of the show. Then we walk out without being crushed by the mob (it can truly be scary when you have small children in-tow). We've never missed the bus using that strategy, although we've been greeted with a long line at the bus stop but at least the busses are running at full capacity after the big nighttime shows. Picking up a snack on the way out helps pass the time and it's better than being trampled in the stampede!

Best way to beat the crowd out is to leave before the show ends. That or get seats right by the exits

Thanks for all of the advice. Leaving before the show ends is definitely something we can do. I see that it was mentioned that when all of the characters come out on the boat that is pretty much the end. Does everyone agree that this would be the time to go or will we miss something? Also, it's been awhile since I have seen Fantasmic but I thought that they directed you to a section and did not let you pick where you sit?

Disney will never leave you standed. If you think you missed the last bus simply ask any CM and they will get a bus or shuttle to pick you up :cool1: :flower2:

We'll be driving, will it take a long time to exit the parking area? We've never closed down a park before, staying for Fantasmic will be a first.

DH and I have always driven, and have never had a problem leaving at the close of a park. We ahve done this at all of them excpet for AK. Keep in mind we have always traveled during September...

Im looking forward to the 2nights we can walk back to BCV after MGM and the 2nights (or more) we can walk back to EpCot - no mad rush for the buses/boats!
