I am going in December and MGM closes at 7:00 PM. Fantasmic also is shown at 7:00 PM. I was going to do a package with the Brown Derby beforehand, but will that leave us anytime to do the Osbourne Lights. Can we go see them after Fantasmic if MGM closes at 7:00? Anyone there last year that knows how this works or should we plan on going over there 2 nights-1 to see Fantasmic & 1 to see the lights? Thanks

As far as I can remember having gone to MGM in years past at that time, they filter everyone out of Fantasmic towards the exit.... they won't allow you to go back into the park to see the Osbourne lights as they are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay at the back of the park where Fantasmic is more toward the front.... can you go 2 separate nights? That's what we've done in the past.... GL!

You know, I hadn't thought about that! I guess we will make our ADR for dinner pretty early, get the voucher for Fantasmic, then pop over to the lights. We won't have 2 nights to do MGM. If push comes to shove I guess we'll skip Fantasmic because we have seen it before.

They make you exit Fantasmic and prevent ppl from walking back to ward the park. There are ppl everywhere ushering you out to the front of the park. I would go see the lights and then go be seated for Fantasmic. I have never seen the seating area for the dinner package overcrowded so I think you would still be able to get a decent seat right before the show opens but you have to be through the backdoor by the garage at a certain time so watch the clock.

Well, just to :stir:

As I recall, during the times the Osborne Lights are operating, they allow the Fantasmic! crowds back to view them, even after "closing time".
There are concession stands open for snacks and drinks.

If that's not the case now... it was in past times I've visited (about 3 years ago was the latest).

robo is right. This is what they did last year when we were there.

We faced a similar problem but we decided to eat lunch at 50's instead of the package (we also decided to go to the studios on an EMH day so we could see the Lights).

You could always try getting an early dinner seating (around 4 or 4:30pm), then see the lights, and then see Fantasmic. We did it this year and made it in time, but we are also fast eaters. You may have to go for 2 nights.

When we were at MGM in December 04, we had no problem seeing the Osbourne Lights after Fantasmic. In fact nearly everyone from Fantasmic went in that dierction, which can make for very crowded viewing conditions. We opted to duck into a couple stores that were still open and let the worst of the crowd get ahead of us and have time to work their way through. Then we viewed the lights at our leisure, with way fewer people around. The CM's made no effort to rush anyone along, even though the park was technically closed. When you had worked your way around the streets and seen all the lights, you were directed to the front of the park and out. Unless they changed their procedures last year or will this year, you should have no problem seeing the Osbourne lights after Fantasmic.

We were there last year also, we went from Fantasmic to Streets of America where the Osbourne lights are with no problem. Hope they don't change that!!!

the lights are on the back lot in new york you go in look at all the lights and leave there is no waiting in line try to go on a different night if you want to see the fantas show we ended up out side the park when they where done with the show. here is a pic of what you will see when you go
