MGM Character Meal Update Thread

At Crystal Palace, it does get a little quiet and they switch over one side of the buffet at a time. Breakfast folks still have breakfast foods, while early lunchers get lunch. I've been there during changeover (got seated late for a late breakfast). While they don't clear you out, they definitely don't pack them in like a regular meal time.

Can't wait for this meal!!!!!!

I found this on another website, certainly doesn't give us a date, but sounds "official" which is good considering we keep hearing this is a rumor...

"Begining Spring 2006, the Character Dinning experience will be back in Disney-MGM Studios for breakfast and lunch at Hollywood and Vine Restaurant. The new Character Dining Experience will be introduced with Buzz Lightyear, Mr. Incredible, Sarge and many other of your favorite Disney/Pixar friends. The Fantasmic! Dinner Experience will still be available for the dinner meal period."


And I found this too...I hope this is NOT true...

"They are aiming for starting the Character Dinning at H&V on June 2nd with the official start on June 4th. If the Disney/Pixar Character Dining is very popular for Breakfast and Lunch they will look to extend it to Dinner and move the Fantasmic package to another restaurant. This all (of course) is subject to change. After all, Entertainment was aiming to start in Jan/Feb but due to Character scheduling and Entertainment Contracts they kept having to push it back."

Yep, that's the one I found too, but I am always afraid to post things that aren't official. That person is a cast member and while we know that they don't always know everything, he actually dug a little deeper for me when I asked him about where he got his info. So, I am no longer holding my breath for a start date of before June 1.

Oh I agree...we have NO clue what to believe...or who knows what. But is sounds like it is straight out of the CM Cast Portal. So with all that said, I personally going to stop thinking that it is going to be up and running for our trip in six weeks...and just tell the kiddo that we are going to be eating a Ohana and if something does happen then we can change.

As for posting it...I do agree that you need to know what is official and what is not, but I know a LOT of people on this board are really hoping for this to be up and running for their Spring Break trips and I would rather know then not.

Sorry, I caught this thread kind of late. I have only heard the rumors of the MGM Character Dining and wanted to know where it stands at this point. Did anyone find out if this was all true or are we all still *hoping*. I know that I was excited to hear the rumor when I did and still have my fingers crossed.

It is looking more and more hopeful that this is really going to happen. My boys will flip over the chance to eat with Mr. Incredible!

For everyone hoping that this really happens before your spring trips, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I'm not going until August, so I am feeling very hopeful! I wish that I hadn't already mentioned it to ds, though.

I just spoke with a CM and asked him if they had anything on a new character meal at MGM. He said, "that looks like it's going to be at H&V and it will be a lunch." Then he told me to hang on for one minute...came back and said he was mistaken...there was no character meal at MGM...just shows. He then tried to tell me about Fantasmic. I think he knows something!

This is the lastest "rumor." Nothing official yet.

I heard from a CM friend of mine that it will begin June 2nd. He said the rumor has been buzzing around that that will be the start date.

I have been waiting to hear some more info about this. We are going in August and that would be 1 character breakfast I would pick for sure. My boys have been to enough "princess" meals with me so now it is their turn.

Just my thought. Sorry if I made you think that I had some info. I am just getting a little more discouraged with each day's phone call. I guess I'm just trying to psych myself to keep thinking positive!
