We (me, DH & DS-9) are planning to go to MGM for a whole day, 9 a.m. till 9:30ish p.m. This will include the Fantasmic dinner package.

We have a half day MGM earlier in the week but because there is so much we want to do, I see no other way of doing it except to include the whole day (no rest)!

Has anyone done an all day at MGM? I'm just a bit worried that we will be absolutely dragging in the July heat by staying that long! Anyone have some advice to make this day a bit easier?

MGM has so many shows to see that you will be doing a lot of sitting along with your walking. It's also a smaller park. I think you'll be just fine. :thumbsup2

I usually do half days (do an EE morning one day and do a afternoon with Fantasmic another day) but we have done whole days too but not quite as late as you and not in July. We can usually just make it to the 7:00p Fantasmic show.

Good luck!

It is such a small park that I think you'll do fine w/the walking. Lots of shops to pop into to keep you cool, and of course there will be ice cream vendors every few feet or so! Take in as many shows as possible so you'll have the chance to sit down.

We did a whole day at MGM last month, and our youngest is a 3yrold. We even did it without a stroller!

I would imagine with DS9 you will not be doing Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid or Playhouse Disney shows. Once you have done the 1/2 day (hopefully riding RNR and TOT if interested) you may find that you are able to arrive later in the day for your Fantasmic night to see the other shows/ rides you did not make the first day. You will also have the times so you can plan out your second day back at your hotel. Where are you staying??

I'm an adult and I love Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, etc. I am a huge RNR and TOT fan (RNR is my favorite of all the parks), but still love to sit down and see the shows.

It was all I could do to get my DS 9 & 10 to go on IASW last December. They would never do princess themed rides with me... :guilty: .

beattyfamily: I didn't know there would be a 7 p.m. show. In any case, our ADR dinner is at 6 p.m. so we will be at the 9 p.m. show.

jeankeri: We do plan to to ToT and RnR, as well as Beauty and Mermaid (for me). My DH and DS are really flexible, my son already knows which shows we will attend and he has no big problems with it since he knows mom wants to see them. :goodvibes

You will enjoy a whole day. There is plenty to do and you will probably have things you did on your first visit that you will want to do again. Especially RRC and ToT.

There is quite a bit of shopping, they have great street entertainment and don't miss "One Man's Dream" it is so heartwarming, and the movie is great!

Several of the shows are inside and airconditioned... so there will be lots of ways to get a way from the heat. And if you get tired you can go to "Drew Cary" and take a nap! :goodvibes

i think mgm is the least tiring. park cause you do get to sit at most things..we go off season so it's never busy or that hot but we always stay one whole open to close day there

If you need a little break mid-day my idea would be to take one of the friendship boats and head over to the boardwalk. The boat ride is relaxing and hitting the boardwalk gets you away from the crowds for a bit.

If you are going to the second Fantasmic there is little need to do the dinner package. This can give you more options for touring and eating (as some of the cool MGM restaurants are not on the Fantasmic dinner plan).

Our 11 yr old DS could probably do without playhouse disney, but he definitely enjoys Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, and all the other shows.

I think you will be fine....just pace yourselves. And the park has alot of shows, which will be good with a/c and time to sit, in July. enjoy!! :thumbsup2

I think MGM is the easiest park to do. We have this one down to a science, in what to hit and how to hit it. What to avoid, etc.

I wish all the other parks were this easy to plan.

We always do a full day here. But my DS10 refuses to stay for Fantasmic, so that makes it easier for me. The older guys in my group usually hit this show one night during our stay on their own without DS10 and I.

It is hard to see all the shows without spending the whole day at MGM, especially if you are also dealing with crowds.

We always plan a whole MGM day. Too much fun stuff, not to.

We take it easy - being a smaller park, you can rest often - wherever you want. We find the Walt Disney thingee is a nice cool off area, as well as the Animation Studio - and all the shops (we need a *shopping* smiley!!!)

Yeah - I'd do a whole day. :thumbsup2
