We just got back from WDW and thought our kids 2 & 4 might like to see Donald Duck on a ride, so we tried the new Mexico attraction.

I think we all felt dumber after that complete waste of time. It's video, very difficult to hear and it makes no freakin sense. Even my 2yr old son went "huh?"

This is one attraction that needs to be shut down ASAP before iy contributes to decreasing IQ's of the general population. I think it would better served to show a movie on how burritos are made.

Kind of Off Topic:

I have not been on the Mexico's River of Time ride since I became disabled in 2003. The rides with "boats" are very hard for me to get in and out of.

Does anyone have a link where I can view a video of the new ride?

TIA

I think the changes are terrible. The old ride was much better and much more of what Mexico is like.

I don't like the ride, either. I miss the old beginning when the statued turned into Montezuma.

The boats need to move slower because you don't have time to process anything that you are seeing/hearing.

That was the original show, but budget cuts wittled the it back to just tortillas. Something had to go so Rosie O'Donell could tell us about bread.

That's sad to hear. I always loved the old version, and have yet to get down there to see the new one. I was hoping they wouldn't ruin it. Sounds like they did. At least I have my home movies to watch and re-watch.

The new version is so great, but it will not make sense to anyone who has not seen the three caballeros movie... trust me on this one. :thumbsup2

I absolutely loved the old ride. I haven't seen the new one, but from all I have heard I'm scared I won't. I'm going to miss the catchy song and I don't know about Disney working Donald and friends into a world showcase ride. I liked how the world showcase was about the countries primarily.

Believe me, you won't. If you liked the old ride {AND the song} like I did, you will think the new stuff stinks. Be prepared to be sad next time you are there......:guilty:

I liked the old ride and song but I also like the new one. Im a fan of 3 caballeros though.

I thought most people hated the old version :confused3

Absolutly NOT! You've been drinking the Burbank Kool aid.

The old version was 25 years old. It was tired and needed a refurb. It was also a travelogue. It needed to be revamped and plussed. It sure was revamped, the same way imagination was, badly. it certainly wasn't plussed.

Yeah, the old one needed some updating, plussing, etc, but that doesn't mean the entire concept needed to be scrapped in favor of "Finding Donald".

All they really did was change what was shown on the TV screens, and replace part of the final scene with another big TV screen. Oh, and there's a Donald Duck pinata.

Really, worse then Stitch's great escape?

It's sad how Disney is turning everything into a marketing opportunity. I'm surprised Test Track hasn't been converted into something about 'Cars'. I guess GM is holding their ground there. Or their contract hasn't expired yet. Walt's view of educating people is being lost to the almighty marketing dollar. I can't complain if they make a new ride and it's to the theme of an existing movie, but when they change an existing ride to reflect some random movie, that's lame.

I TOTALLY agree. I've seen !Saludos, Amigos! several times and I think the ride does a good job of capturing the spirit of the movie.
