Mexico's River of Time

Gee - when I think of Mexico I think of cultures thousands of years old, mysterious and vast ruins that dwarfed the cities of Europe of their time, of deep jungles, of the Sea of Cortez, of mountains and deserts - of the largest city on the planet.

Instead I'm supposed to think of a cheap, bad cartoon from the last century that was about everyplace but Mexico!

Yes - it's shocking more people don't like the toon'd ride.

Well okay smartypants!

I haven't ridden it yet. I may think it's really bad too when I ride it. I like the Seas with Nemo & Friends though.

its so fun and cute and exciting, yeah, not very politically correct, but its disney, your sorta supposed to think of mexico as a place where ducks in somberos dance around on the beach!

Well I got back a week ago. I rode it and will never ride it again. I'll miss you El Rio. You went with the surroundings so nicely. Now you tack up the place.
The new version had the same wait time. 0 minutes. I can only hope that Disney does another Pieces of History Pin set with some El Rio piece in it.

I thought this was the worst ride ever. Including Stitch. I was so confused about what was supposed to be going on, and even if I did understand I'm positive I still would have thought it was terrible. I felt like my IQ must have dropped by 50% while I was on it. My whole family (Me, DH, DMIL, DFIL, & DBIL), all felt the same. We were so sad because we liked the old ride, and the old music.

I kept thinking that if I was from Mexico and I went on that ride, I would be insulted that that was the best they could come up with. Mexico is a very beautiful country, and there are tons of things that they could highlight about it in the ride. However, I have been to Mexico several times, and I have to say that I never saw a goofy duck and his friends going to a concert (if that is what was going on at all...). Maybe after they put the tequila bar in and I have a few I will try it again. Then maybe it will be at least amusing...
