Mexican Riviera July 20, 08...Hola Amigos

Well our kids KNOW we have lost our minds. We just tell them that they are the reason for our lack of sanity. We have 2 boys (21,19) both in the Marines. Stationed at Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, CA. Our oldest will be getting married August 2... Sat after we get back. Also, we have 2 girls (15, 12). And they can't wait to get rid of us so they can stay with their friends while we "suffer" down in Mexico. Yeppie!!!

I see on the list that we are not included in the who's your neighbor. Also FYI in our cabin will be me, DH, DS 11, DD 7 (these you have) plus my dad and stepmom. However my dad and stepmom I am sure won't be participating in any DISer stuff

I am getting so excited I can't hardly stand it It will be here before we know it. Gave the stuff to my mother-in-law today for FE. Because I am not that crafty and she does sew!

Yes we are all in Walt Suite. We are traveling with a group though. Bess92 and also my brother who is in a room 2 doors down from Bess 92.
We are:
Emilee - 36 on June 12
Chuck - 37
Dallas - 11
Jade - 7

My dad Robert 68 on July 28th
Stepmom Carol

My brother who is in the cabin a few doors down which I can't remember the number because I am terrible with that is Eric.

While I am here, I am going to post our plans for excursions:

Cabo - just out and about.

Mazatlan - Randi's Happy Horses - second ride - non-DCL/ Senor Frog's for margaritas before boarding.

Puerto Vallarta - Westin Resort and Spa for a day by the pool relaxing and vegging out.

Special Occassions: Camden turns 8 on July 25!!! Of course, he thinks the whole ship will be celebrating his big day with him!!!!

We are going to Disneyland on Monday and then heading home on Tuesday!

Can't believe it is finally closing in!!!! So much to do...i have got to get busy!

My DH Joe shares a birthday with your DS. He will turn 59 on July 25th (but I think he'd prefer I not announce that too loudly )

We are riding with Randi too in Mazatlan but she didn't mention a 'first' or 'second' ride. I guess that means we are in the first group?

Hi Everyone,

I have a million questions having never been on a cruise before. I have traveled a lot, just never on a cruise. First I see a lot of codes in the messages but I do not know what they stand for. Ex: DH,DD,DF,DBF etc.
Is there a section somewhere that explaines to new cruiser what they stand for. Also I see a lot on fish extenders?? door magnets?? and other topics which it seems everyone understands, but being new I have not been able to figure them out. I will be traveling with my 11 year old son Attila and my best friend Laurine. My husband is not able to get off work so he will not be able to come with us. He has been on a cruise before when he was single.
I have been reading all the various messages so I will know what to bring and
get some ideas. If anyone has anygood advise for us 1st timers please feel free to let us know. Look forward to seeing you all on the ship.

lets see ....DH=Dear Husband, DW is dear wife, DS= Dear Son, DD= Dear Daughter, DF = Dear Friend, DBF= Dear Best Friend or Dear Boy Friend, DMI= Dear mother Inlaw and so on.

Fish Extenders are what you hang on the Fish that is on every ones Cabin door that SCL uses to put mail and such in. We the cruisers sometimes like to do a Fish extender game where you make or buy the extenders(Will provide a link below) to put on your Cabins fish to catch fish bate also known as small gifts that your fellow cruisers on this thread buy or make and put them in the extenders. You dont have to participate unless you want to

Door magnets....you make them with magnetic paper and you put them on your door. they have some great ones ready here on this thread for this cruise for you to already print out. The magnetic printer paper you put into your printer the same way as paper and it prints out and you put it on the cabin door that are metal and they stick I will give you links to that also...
