Mexican Riviera July 20, 08...Hola Amigos

I am game for a pre-meet. We will be at Disneyland on the 12th up until the cruise. We are planning on doing other things Sun thru Wed., but we will be doing the parks Thurs thru Sat.

I am making my final cruise payment tomorrow! :cool1:

:wave2: Emilee - I'm so jealous - I don't know why DH insists on waiting - we have the money but he still insists on waiting - meantime - our first cruise is in about 6 weeks and he still hasn't paid for the flights to WDW. This is his job - I handle everything else except for the car - all he has to do is Flights, Final Payment and car - is it too much to ask? Doesn't he know he's cramping my planning?

Anyway, TO ALL OUT THERE - I'm going to assume that a lot of us are locals, if anyone is coming in from out of town, chime in and let us know where you plan on staying and when you come in - maybe we can plan something for some of us to meet beforehand. I have had the pleasure of attending many premeets and it really does wonders for those of us that have spouses that don't really participate - heck if all else fails - we can stick them in a corner and we'll go off! :rotfl2:

Hi Mickeys#1 Fan,
Thanks for the info. We will check out the hotels. We are now toying with the idea of driving down a day early and hitting Disneyland on Sat. A quick check showed that we may be able to stay around the park for about the same price. And who doese not want to add a day at Disneyland right? I'm a little afraid of what the crowdes may be on a Sat in the summer so we may play it by ear.
Well being a former cast member at DL, 1st thing summertime... it's always busy at DL 2nd thing Saturdays makes it that much more busier than weekdays. Because of AP's (no put down) it's just the facts. I worked ALOT of parades & fireworks shows, and it just starts getting fuller around dinner time. The info I'm giving you, if I were still a cast member, I could get in trouble. But anyways here it is... during summer they expect the crowds to be around 40,000 - 60,000 on an average day the busy weekends and hoildays...75,000 - 95,000 thats when they start thinking about shuting the gates. I hope this helps you. You still can't go wrong in going to DL :mickeyjum Bring alot of your own water and frezze it the night before. It will be hot during this time.

Hey Vern - my friends dropped out of the cruise. So now it will only be 8 of us. Oh well, you probably didn't want to hear them squabble anyway. :rotfl:

Hi everyone,
I will change you to 8. Could you look back on page 1 to see what else you may like to add?

You all sound like a fun group....looks like you will have a great time hooking up. Has anyone came up with a group logo or anything yet?

Has anyone been following Mazatlan frank? I posted the link a long time ago so you can ask him questios about Mazatlan....http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1330088

I'll post when we figure out what we are going to do. We are just toying with the idea of DL on Sat. I love DL but, as was stated it will be crazy. I'm not sure my mom is up to DL on a Sat in the summer.

Hi,

I'm also game for a pre-meet. No need to ask me twice. :yay:

I made the final payment today. and I feel really good right now. :cool1:

Hey, does everyone receive a crusie travel kit ? I picked mine up from AAA and it has come in very handy.

What is a cruise travel kit? :confused3 I'm a member of AAA but did not book my cruise thru them.

Thanks

I don't know what a cruise travel kit is either?

We are getting ready to go to a cardinal game in St. Louis. Go Cards:cheer2:

I can start booking stuff today so I'm going to try and see if I have enough time before we go!

Hi everyone,
The Travel kit is a information packet, book that has all the info about excursions, restaurants, kids clubs, tips on what to pack what to wear and so on. I got mine about 3 weeks ago but many are still waiting for theirs and some have received theirs yesterday.

If you don't get one in the next week or so just call and follow up. Most of the info you will find on the DCL website.

Have any of you figured out what your excursions will be? Not to much longer you can start to book them. If your final payment is made you can start to book if you are a Castaway member around the 21st of this month.

We will be doing the Zipline Canopy Tour in PV but not through Disney. We will be doing it with Los Veranos Canaopy tours. Don't forget that ship time and PV tine are an hr difference if you book a tour away from DCL.

We will also be doing to Beach Buggy and swim in Cabo.....will most likely do our own tour in Mazatlan with either Mazatlan Frank or someone at the port.

It's getting closer and cant wait. I will be at DL why you are all cruising. So has anyone decided to come up with a T-Shirt logo for your group? Fun even if you don't get a Tshirt but to make a logo and put onto a magnet(can get magnet paper at Walmart) to put on your doors.

I will have a magnets of my last cruises and family and the logo for our group that someone designed. Oh and the Mickey ears to put on the cabin number so it looks like a Mickey head!

We also have the logo put on mugs and hats and stuff through Capree(sp) website to pick from. I always get the mugs.

Also if you want to book Palos be sure to not book it in the night of the pirate party...will see if I can find out when the PP will be. Also the Brunch is great if you decide that. Be sure to do it on a sea day. But remember that is when everyone else will be picking it also. So Mon Fri and Sat will book up fast. But don't fret there are always cancellations.

In addition for those of you that don't know this. If you are out at the port and have early dining and miss it but still want to eat. You can go to Topsiders and they will have a waiter and the same menu as in the dinning rooms that night. The only thing is that you will need to leave a tip. They are waiters in training but they are great and the service is wonderful. You can go in in nice dress shorts also, DH has worn his nice shorts in there as many others do and I have worn my more casual pants ...you can take the kids also.
We have eaten there many a night after coming back late from port and have missed our dinning time.

Before ya know it the time will be here! cant wait :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hi, we will be flying in on Saturday and would be up for a meet. We are also planning to go to Disneyland on Monday after the cruise. Any input on this would be appreciated. We figured the weekend would be terrible. They still have parades and everything right? Even though it is a weekday?

I haven't started magnets yet, but will be soon. If I come up with a good logo, i will let you know. My creative juices have been on reserve lately

P.S Any teens on this trip. We have a 17-year-old daughter who wants to chat with some fellow cruisers. PM me if you have teens wanting to meet online beforehand

Hey Frye7127
We have a 16 year old DS and we also have a 18 year nephew that will be on this cruise. All raised in Tennessee. :thumbsup2

We are originally from Memphis. So the kids should have some things in common. However, They are not a fan of the Vols.

We are traveling with a group of 4 families.
DBIL – 46 DD – 7 DD – 6
DSIL – 46 DBIL – 45 DD – 21 DS – 18
DBIL – 44 WSIL – 35 DS – 3
Me – 43 DH – 40 DS – 16 DS – 14

Hello Frye7127

We go to Disneyland a lot for people who live 2000 miles away, and will be there Sunday, Monday and Tuesday after the cruise. If you have never been, I recommend investing in RIDEMAX, just for the helpful hints and tips. You can really maximize your time at the two parks by even half heartedly following a ridemax plan. The cool thing is that you get to choose your own favorites. Ridemax just helps with the timing. (Honestly I do not work for RIDEMAX or have any affiliation with them!)
We are driving in on Saturday, so would also be up for a pre-meet.

ChEARS!

Kerri

yeah1. PM me and I can give you our email address and maybe they can start chatting. She had such a great time in the Stack on our last cruise, so we had to make sure we got back before she turned 18. She still talks with some of the kids she ran around with and one actually came down to visit. Talking ahead of time definitely breaks the ice and allows them to jump right on in to activities and stuff when the get on the ship.

BTW, My son and I can take or leave the Vols - my husband is a diehard fan :worship: and my daughter keeps up with sports, but stands by her Vols!

KVEENS - Thanks for the info. I read a little about Ridemax and will check into it closer to time. I wish we could stay for a couple of days like you all, but school starts too early here and DD17 Summer Insanity starts August 1 and she is going to be a senior this year. She would probably die if we asked her to miss it, even for Mickey.

Yes DL will have ALL the parades and fireworks going on Monday. (weather premitting) meaning if there is no wind blowing the fireworks will go off. Also if you want to ride the New Nemo Subs, do it first thing in the morning. The attraction is a 2-3 hour wait during the whole day. And because its summer its very hot waiting for this. Most of the cue line is in the sun.

thanks for that insight. I will definitely make a note of it. We love Nemo, so that will definitely be on top of our list.

We need to come up with an image for our cruise with the "Hola Amigos" theme.

What do you all think of this?
