Mexican Riviera July 20, 08...Hola Amigos

Hey Brandy - the outlet is located by the mirror in the middle of the room - along the wall where the t.v. is. Its probably a good idea to bring an extension cord as that will give you a few more options.
Thanks Laura !!

Ahoy Mate or should I say, Hola, welcome Don, welcome to our "Magical Mex" ship!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I'm Vern ("you know what I mean?") yea, I'v heard that a "few" times. I'm the "professional" Disneyland Cast member on this ship.:rotfl2: So, if you got any questions about Disneyland... I'm your man! I'm sort of a nut when it comes to Disneyland trivia. Glad to see you've got a big group with ya.

Hi Vern,

Thanks for the nice welcome!

I see you worked back at the park during the 30th anniversary. I was able to pull the lever one time on the "Gift Giver Extraordinaire". I won a stuffed Mickey and Minnie. :goodvibes My wife and I were in the park one time when somebody one a car and we watched it rise out of the ground.

I worked in the park for a couple of years in the late 70s and early 80s.

By the way, why didn't Ernest give you any air time? :rotfl2:
Don

Hi Everybody,

We are joining you on the cruise on July 20th. :cool1: This is our sixth Disney Cruise. Previously we have been on the following cruises.

Med Cruise (ROMEancing the Mouse) July 2007 Hi Laura!
Double Dip - August 2006
Panama East Bound - August 2005
Christmas 10 Day Cruise - December 2004
Western Caribbean -August 2003

Traveling in our group we have-
Don (me) - 46
Anna - 44
Deanna - 12
Donnie - 10

Joining us for our fifth cruise is Grandma and Gandpa

Don - 72
Louella - ;)

The kids really enjoy the opportunity to spend extra time with grandma and grandpa. I also have appriciated that grandma and grandpa picked up the tab for Panama and the Med. :thumbsup2

As an extra special treat, for the first time, Great Grandma expressed interest in going on a trip and will be joining us for the cruise.

Arne - 93

This is a special treat since I have not been on a vacation with her in many, many years.

Since Great Grandma is joining us my sister, husband and their new baby boy will also be joining us for the first time.

Kurt - 46
Sondra - 44
Charley - 4 months (Charley is making his debut on March 23rd)

We are set for up for second dining and l am looking forward to getting to know all of you over the next five months.

This is going to be a great cruise. I really look forward to getting on the ship without having to fly across the country first. Plus we save the money on air travel!

Of a special note. Over the past few cruises my father has had limited mobility and has been confined to a wheel chair. I would be happy to answer any questions related to limited mobility on the cruise. This was an interesting challenge last summer in Europe.

Looking forward to meeting you,

Don

YIPPEEE! :wave2: Hi Don! Remember fondly - the Magic Fountain in Barcelona - Olbia or was it Sardegna? Anyway, welcome aboard! :cheer2:

This is going to be so much fun - hey - just an idea but does anyone want to see about linking up reservations? I usually try for the 8 pm as that seems to get us out in time for the shows. This doesn't mean that we will sit together - it just means that they will try and put us in the same dining rotation with maybe the same or nearby waiters? Something to think about! Yeah - more people are showing up! :dance3:

How Cool Don, that you are traveling with such a big party - you have GOT to do a generations picture - with someone representing at least what 4 generations?

My MIL & FIL are supposed to be sailing with us too but we shall see. I've got some friends supposedly travelling with us but we shall see come 90 days out.

OK - if anyone is interested in perhaps being sat near each other - let me know - I will ask a friend how she is handling this on the Aug EBPC cruise.

Don - you will have to share some of your pictures from the MED on this cruise. BTW, can your mom and dad adopt me too? :lmao: Just kidding - my sugar daddy ......um....DH usually lets me plan what I want so no need - although I really, really feel sorry for my DD's - can you imagine the man they will end up having to marry. I can see it now -

Boyfriend: I love you......will you marry me? :flower3:

DD's: If you want to marry me you must provide one full-fledged Disney Cruise Vacation once a year and of course any special cruises is a given.....

OH! And mom's gotta love you - no tattoo's or smoking allowed! :scared1:

Sorry! Hi Anna! and kids - remember me? I was the crazy lady with the girls? Well, the shortest one will again be travelling with us this time. We didn't give her much choice - just told her she had to go - she is playing mediator between my oldest DS - Andrew - who will be joining us this cruise as we don't have to fly - and DD- Megan who went with 2 friends to the Med.

April our youngest has elected not to take a friend as she will then have to share the spotlight and any other cute buys on the cruise! :rotfl2:

H everyone,
Hi Don welcome aboard :thumbsup2 I have put your info on the first page please check it. Also could you please let us know where you are all from and dining late or early.

I will not be going on this cruise but will keep it updated. Please be sure to let me know if there is anything you want me to add to the first page. This is your thread so will be more than happy to post anything you want.

As things come forth to me from the other thread that I am on for the following week cruise I will add here also.

But I will remain part of this thread only because it is just a week before mine and because no one but me can post on the first page to keep updated except me :goodvibes

The time is getting close....has everyone got there passports are you letting it pass since no need at this time?

Hi Mexico Cruisers!:yay:

I am here, but am guilty of lurking every day. :surfweb: We are very excited as the time goes by toward this trip. We ordered passports New Year's Eve day, and they were back in about three weeks.:cool1:

I've checked out the excusions and am leaning toward a beach day in Cabo, a city tour in Mazatlan, and the salsa making one in P.V. I have my 75 days counted out so I can book right at 9 p.m. (isn't that midnight east coast?):confused3 on May 5th.

The sailors in my family include me--46 at time of sailing, DH 56, DD 9.5 and DS 9.5 (yes, they are twins!) We are driving down from Portland for this cruise, our first!:cool1: And then hitting the Year of a Million Dreams at the DL Park for a couple of days after we return.

We have late dining, but I think it will work for us. We are down in "steerage" in rooms 1045 and 1047 :rotfl2: because we wanted two rooms for the four of us-- DH has a snoring problem!:sad2:

If any of you have tweeners who are into sports or Hannah Montana, I have two kids that will be their best friends! :)

Don

Air time? I could cared less about the airtime, wheres my portion of the money he made off my name.:happytv: Well welcome fellow cast member.:cool2: Where & what did you do there, at "the happiest place on earth"?

:wave2: Hi there! Bumping back up.

I made DH watch the DCL planning dvd tonight. Hi is so bah-humbug about this cruise.:confused3 He said it wasn't his cup of tea because all there is to do is eat and go to shows. What should I do to help improve his attitude?

He just bought a really nice new camcorder. His excuse is he needs it for the cruise, but that is the only thing he is happy about concerning this trip. :sad2: :worried: I'm most concerned that he will bring me and the kids down about this trip.

Any suggestions are very welcome!:flower3:

Well Dh is one of those - I tell him that this is his opportunity to catch up on sleep which he really does. There is always lots to do but for some reason - the guys really enjoy sleeping - so I let him sleep and I go on our adventures - hence I get involved with DIS people and his not understanding that leads to more sleep. Maybe we should get them together huh? Actually, once you get him on the ship your work is over - let DCL take care of that part. As for the excursions - just drag him along. They complain but my experience has been he wants to know where to appear and when. Then he's happy. Especially happy once we get back. Plus - my DH likes the PB&J!

What does your DH like? Maybe if there are enough men out there with similar interest - we can get them together?

Did your sons team win ?

Yes  Do tell - did they win?

Oh, please don't let this get you or the kids down. Explain to DH that when your children are in the kids club you two can spend quality time together and that there are also plenty of activities on board. He will eventually warm up to the idea. His first step was purchasing the camcorder and I feel that was a good start.

Hi All,
I have been looking at the site for a while now. I figured that it was time to join. I am traveling on the July 20 Mexican cruise. In our stateroom it is DS8, my Mom and I.

We can't wait.:cool1:

Hey Robin - I was talking with Vern about this - I think we may do a couple of ports on our own but I am really interested in the zip line tour in Puerto Vallerta - how about you?

They have been sold out on the WB and looks like the EB will be taking them also as well as many private - some have booked on their own.

What are you considering on your cruise?

Interested in that also...but other things also. I do like to head out on our own and do the same excursions but without Disney at our own time.
the other thread that I am on will be posting the persons to contact for that so when I gre that I will bring it here:thumbsup2

My Dh was the same way about going on the crusie...6 later I cant keep him off. You will have to bribe your kids however to spend time with you because they make great frinds and want to spend THERE cruise with them. So Dh will have plenty of time to do absolutly nothing or everything. That is what is so great aboyt the DCL is that there is so much to do for everyone.

:welcome: WELCOME!!!!please go to the first page and give me your info ( if you want) so I can add you to the list. I cant wait either :woohoo: just can nver seem to get enough of the DCL :thumbsup2

My DH wasn't as sold on it the first time either. As you can see I said the first time. He wanted to book again onboard! It is WONDERFUL:cloud9:

Schedule is still full speed ahead. Hopefully I will have time to pick out excursions before I have to book them!:lmao:

Thanks for all of the support, guys.:grouphug: DH still thinks the DCL will be boring! :sad2: I asked him what he thought was fun and got no reply.

The kids and I are totally stoked! We have pirate costumes for the kids, have our formal clothes for formal night, and I just put a big order in with Amazon.com for all the necessities (suction hooks, collapsible hamper, Bonine, sunblock, etc) we will need.

I'm really hoping there will be DCL on the West Coast permanently after the two new ships are built. I know I'd like to make cruising a habit!;)

DH said no to WDW next summer because this cruise is putting a dent in the vacation budget as it is. I am supposed to go to Orlando for a conference next July and will feel pretty guilty:guilty: if I go to WDW and my kids don't get to. I was also thinking of trying to book a 4-day onboard for while I am back in Orlando for the conference. We'll see how the DH likes the Mexican Riviera first!
