Mexican Riviera July 20, 08...Hola Amigos

Hey Liz, We don't need your age, we already have it from the first page.:rotfl2:

Don't know how that got there...but thanks to whomever made me younger!

I am 42, my DH (Patrick) is 43, my DD (Kelsey) is 14 and my DS (Sam) is 9.

Okay...you got it out of me Vern!

Hi Everyone,

We have late seating, along with my sister (DlandFan), and have requested the "earliest" late seating - 8:00, I think.

Well, our vacation/family wedding/business trip starts a little earlier than the cruise begins. The upside of that is that we should be acclimated to the time zone before we get on the cruise ship. The downside....we have 6 days to be packed and ready to leave! Yikes..we are not ready to leave.

I was able to grab Palo reservations at 6pm the night we are in Mazatlan. I'm glad I was able to get those. Decided we'll live with whatever dinner seating we get even though we are waitlisted for the early one. I'm very excited about the cruise...but hate crowds and hate waiting in line. Maybe it is because we live with that every day here in Tokyo? Anyway, the thought of showing up early at the port to get on the boat and then go change dinner ressies or book Palo is very unappealing to me. Now, I don't think we will be rushing to the port to get onboard first to change reservations. Since we'll already be on vacation at the Disneyland Resort.....we'll just relax there a little longer before getting to the ship. Apparantly we are able to check in at the hotel and then we'll take Disney transportation -- probably after most of you will be on board and in the swimming pool! We'll make it less crowded for all of you!! If we still lived in Southern California........we'd probably be there with many of you trying to be the first on the boat.

We also cancelled our shore excursion for Puerto Vallarta. We are excited as my husband's family will be meeting the ship in PV and we'll spend the day with them. They live in Mexico......and if we did not see them this day, then we wouldn't see them at all during this trip. They come visit us often...so it is not a huge deal. But, it is so great to see my son so excited to see both Grandma (my mom) earlier on our trip, and then Abuela (my husbands mom) in Mexico. This will be our second Mexican Riviera cruise....our first one floated off the coast of California as there was a hurricane hitting the ports we were supposed to visit. So, probably after my second attempt to actually see PV, I won't see it. Sounds like a reason to go back a third time!

I have a few more days of work and then some craziness this weekend as we try to pack for about a month away from home.......packing light is going to be a challenge I think.

Oh! There were still additional dinner reservations for Palo online when I checked today. If someone is still looking....you may want to check it out.

Adios!

That was cool Robin. pirate: I have a feeling I will be saying that all day. :lmao:

On another note, My DD & sister headed off to Paris, France yesterday for a week. It's been quiet around here and I miss my DD  I told her to bring me back a Chanel or Louis Vuitton purse. (Yeah right) :rotfl2:

I still haven't heard from my TA regarding our tickets but last Sunday we went to have Breakfast in Long Beach than headed over the bridge to see the Magic AGAIN (3x). My  thinks I'm so nuts that it's not even funny. :rotfl:

I'm off work today :cool1: but with DD gone I will not be home much so I would like to wish you all a Safe, Fun and Great 4 th of July weekend !!! :cheer2: Hasta luego Amigos !

PLEASE! Check your info and if there is anything wrong here,(i.e. room # or # of guests that are staying in your staterooms) let me or Karen know so that we can make the changes before the cruise. We have not yet assigned which days you will be giving out your gifts. We will be doing this hopefully this week sometime. We are just waiting to see if there is anymore that will join us.
Sorry for the long post, but I thought that this was important info to get to my fellow cruisers.:grouphug: Please, if there is anything I can help with, just ask. For ya'll that will be going to Disneyland, if you have any questions about best place to see the parades or Fantasmic, or Jedi Training or any questions about attractions or where to eat at the right time. Or just planning your day, I can help with that. :thumbsup2 Vern

:woohoo: ONLY TWO WEEKS!!! YIPPEE!!:cool1:

Thanks, Vern for the FE info. :smickey: I am doing some gender-specific gifties. Would it be a big problem to list who is in the room by gender for FE participants? If not, I will go through and figure it out.

Kerri

Hi Everyone, We are getting sooooo excited overhere. Let me see if I did my math correct. It seems I need to bring around 60 FE gifts. I will get a few extra in case others join before we set sail:rotfl: . My son is saving his money to be able to buy cool stuff on the ship. I will be off this weekend to buy rolls of film since I do not have a digital camera yet. So if any of you have extra rolls in your fridge that you could not figure out what to do with since you now use digital film, I will accept any donations of un-need film:yay: . Well, back to work.:surfweb:

Hi, all
With a few days left before our 1st DC, I found this thread. I wish I had looked around sooner, but I am glad I found this thread at least.

Since this is our 1st DC, naturally I and the rest of my family (... mostly I) have lots of questions. Even though I have been reading this thread, I do have one question about the formal dining night. I am guessing that everyone, including kids, will be attending the formal dining "event", what should the kids be wearing? I have 3 boys (one 10 yr and 6 yr twins) by the way. Or do I leave them at their respective Oceaneer Club & Lab during the formal dining?

Any comments from experienced sailers...

:welcome: yasw98...I have two sons also. In the past we have all dressed up on formal night. It is one of the nights that we take pictures together and eat together. After dinner and the show they can go back to the clubs. What I have done is had my boys wear a dark black suit with coat, white shirt, and a bow tie. The tux thing is a little too much for me and we have suits already. No one can really tell the difference and it looks great in the pictures. We plan on doing the same this year. My hard part now is to try and find a nice formal dress for our daughter:)

You and your family will have a great time. It truely is MAGICAL pixiedust:

:wave2: Welcome yasw98! :cheer2:

This will be our 4th DC and we don't tend to get as dressed up as the others. My husband and son (now 9) typically wear khaki's and a shirt. This is the night we take the family pictures also. After dinner, we have always changed into something more comfortable and spend the rest of the night doing our normal cruise activities.

You will see all people dressed from ball gowns/tuxedos to people in jeans and t-shirt. It all depends on what you are comfortable with.

Don't worry...no matter what, they will serve you dinner! :goodvibes :rotfl2:

Thank you very much for your comments.
Now, I feel much better... :goodvibes

Only thing I have to worry about now is keeping taps on my excited kids till the boarding date... I am SO excited... :yay:

Welcome Yasw98 - Glad you found us!:cheer2:

Now, I have a big gargantuan favor to ask of someone. Is anyone going to Disneyland before the cruise? If you are and you happen to see one, would you mind to pick up an elongated penny book for me? It is for Camden's birthday on the ship, and we are trying to take smaller/more compact things to give him on his actual birthday and I have fixed rolls of pennies and quarters for him, but that book would finish that gift off perfectly. I have had no luck finding one here in town so this is my last resort. I will pay you for your trouble. Certainly don't take time out of your day, only if you run across one while there. If anyone can help, please let me know. I would be so thankful.

Leasi

Hi everyone...getting close.....I just stopped home from camping for a few minutes and have no time to read the posts. I will be back on sunday and will update. Please send me PM's to update the FE and what ever you need added. I will do it Sunday or Monday.....be sure to check all the info on the front with cabin numbers and names of all in the FE so you can copy it to use as your room info.

I am out of here for now..... soon you will be on your way:thumbsup2 :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Leasi--We are planning on going to the parks on Thursday and Friday before the cruise. I am not sure if there are a lot of options on the penny books but my kids and I would love to pick it up to make Camden's birthday extra special. Maybe PM me and I can get your cell phone or phone number to call you when we are shopping to make sure I get the right thing?

Too all--As mentioned before--I cannot sew:sad2: ...so the FE thing has been interesting. I can cut and I can pin things together but I thought sewing a straight line would be easy. Well it would be if my sewing machine would work right. I finally called my mother-in-law who can sew anything to help me and my machine...NO LUCK:headache: ...just me I guess:confused3 Well, when it is finally finished it will be a good thing...:cheer2:

Vern and Karen--do you know when you will send out the final lists? I will not be able to get onto a computer starting on Wednesday next week so I want to make sure I am updated on everything.

Thanks everyone....11 days:cloud9:  :cloud9:

Welcome (Hola) to our family of Disney nuts.:joker: If you can please let us know your names and stateroom #. If you don't want to post that info on the thread, we understand. You can email me that info to: Vern vrntnns@verizon.net or Karen krntnns@verizon.net . We are so glad that you have chosen to be with us. Our first meet will be the day of sailing right before the sailaway party, on deck 10 above the Goofy Pool. You're going to have a blast. Vern
