Mexican Riviera 2/27 - 3/6 - DisneyZell TR new 3/31: FINISHED!!!

Looks like a great Pirate Night. We'll try to catch the buffet this time. Last time there were so many people crowded around, we didn't know it was there - by the time we found it, the food was gone.:confused3 Ice cream twice in a day sounds better, anyway!

Where is the glass blowing shop in Cabo? My son would really love that!

Here is a link that talks about the glass blowing factory:

http://www.loscabosguide.com/glassfactorycabo/index.html

All the taxi's should know where it is...you shouldn't have to pay more than $2/person to get you there. Most of the drivers will want to take you on a tour of the city as well, but if you just want to do the glass factory, be firm! They had a ton of stuff to buy (I got my vacation christmas tree ornament there) and the prices were not too bad...although they had some pretty impressive pieces that were pretty expensive.

Got to love your humor. Glad I checked and found the update. What a fun way to end a tiring and very stressful last 2hours of my shoft!!

Sounds like fun at Cabo and at Pirate Night! I didn't know the Pirate buffet had turkey legs and such... for some reason I thought it was just a dessert buffet...
Looking forward to more...

Yup...though I've never tried the turkey legs on the ship. I'm sure they are quite good :)

Oops! My real personality is showing!:lmao:

Ouch! watch out for that, I'm pretty good at keeping mine secret! :thumbsup2

so what I recommend here is that you stay on the outskirts of the party when the fireworks start. That way you will be closer to the food. :thumbsup2 Pretty sad, though, if they ran out of food. That's just wrong!;)

Glad I could help you end your day on a happy note. But clearly you starve for comedy if you find my stuff funny. :lmao:

Thanks for the comments all!

:thumbsup2 Great TR!! Lovin' it!!

Another easy way to remember port vs. starboard. Port is spelled with 4 letters and so is "left". Port is left and starboard is right. I remember by the number of letters. ;)

I've loved your TR! And pictures and navigators! All had been fun to read, not to mention helpful. :)

DisneyZell- We were on the same cruise as you & had the same servers! We were at the late dining. :goodvibes: LOVED Maggie & Terry! Laughed at your comment about Terry's food suggestions. SO true! If we picked something he didn't suggest & we didn't like it, he'd say "I told you so!" ha!

[I can't post pics b/c I have less than 10 posts:confused3]

Seriously. You think I can count letters? Have you actually been reading my TR??? :lmao: Great, now not only will I be pondering which one has two R's in it...I'll have to count letters. Pretty soon I'll be taking my shoes off (well, ok, Crocks since that's what I wear on the ship) to count toes too! Ouch!

Thank you for your blatant lying, it is much appreciated. :thumbsup2

As my 8 year old would say "I Know, Right?". They rocked out. The funny thing is that the good servers (and they were certainly that) make you feel really special like you are the first and only family they have served. Pretty funny to think that not only are they serving at least one other family in the same sitting...they have a whole other group in the seating after yours. Makes you realize you really are just a number...yet somehow the really good servers make you feel like so much more. *sigh* :thumbsup2

On the pics....this is simple. Just keep posting on my TR with your own comments...before you know it...you will be there! :) How's that for really bad hinting to keep posting here??

Yet another great update. Thank you!
You are most welcome. Still not sure if I'll make it all the way through before your cruise. Could be I'll still be posting when you get back. Then I'll be forced to read your TR. Oh wait, I'm going with you. I assume you will get the wireless plan so I can post live from my trunk on Deck 7? :rotfl:

Well, I have no intention of writing a TR because after yours, mine will be dull and boring. I simply do not have the creativity or humor that you do! I mean, look at how many people you have had hanging on your every word! ;)

Hummm....wireless plan....will have to check into the pricing on that. I wish that Saturday would roll around already because you are sure getting expensive to drag along, just for some door decorations.....

There are people reading my stories??? :scared1: Stagefright! :)

You have no idea how expensive I am. While I seem very low maintenance...well, just ask DW. However, you will get some really cool door decorations! :thumbsup2

Your cracking me up. I enjoy our little banter. :cool1:

Ya, I think there are many hanging on your every word. Well, okay, perhaps at least ONE. ;)

Ohhhhhhhhh, I think I have an idea! However, I'd venture to guess that your DW enjoys every minute and it's all well worth it!

I am too. May seem odd to say, but I feel like we've actually met!

BTW, in your decorating planning, please keep in mind that the 4th is our 30th anniversary, so we would hope that the door decorations that day will reflect same. Thank you ever so much!!

I am going on my first cruise with my DH to MR in October and I have really enjoyed reading your trip report to get an idea of what to expect.

Unfortunately DW has heard all my jokes so she doesn't laugh with me as much as she used to (I'm pretty sure the laughing AT me is a frequent occurance however:thumbsup2 ). Lol.

I think you and your DH need to book the Fantasy April 21 2012 :)

Finally you never mentioned anniversary. Here you go.

This is not to say that your DH is a Beast. But you never know. LOL

Before you get too excited...I can't take credit for the basics of these, that credit goes to Millipie (her site is here: http://www.4shared.com/dir/19077581/4fa6c900/sharing.html

If you use her stuff, please IM her so she is aware. As you can see from all of her stuff she is very talented :)

oh, and here is her design thread, though I'm not sure she is taking any more requests.

Anyway, thank you :) :cool1:

I sincerely doubt DW is laughing AT you, but rather WITH you! Life's too short not to do a lot of laughing. It also makes the years go quicker than you'd ever realize. Certainly doesn't seem like yesterday with us, but it certainly does NOT seem like it's been 30 years!

Is there something special about the Fantasy on that date?

Last, and certainly not least, you shouldn't be taking time out from your TR to be making us the beautiful door signs that you've made! Thank you! We can't wait for the ever changing door signs throughout our cruise. I'm sure you'll be surprising us with many more during that week!

Pretty soon, everyone waiting for the trip report will be gunning for me. :scared1:

Ah...nice relaxing weekend (well...if you consider lacrosse practices and a game all weekend relaxing. Actually it wasn't bad at all. But it is Flippin' cold here which I don't appreciate anymore. Usually it's only DW that complains about the cold but this is getting insane. But I digress...)

This was like deja-vu all over again except for one big difference...today was my turn to swim with the dolphins! On our Christmas Cruise a few years ago DW and DS12 got to do the dolphin swim while DS8 and I went to a beach. Not a fun experience in general for a lot of reasons, but you will have to go read about that in my other TR. If I wrote about it. I never actually finished that one...so not sure where I left off :)

Anyhooo...not a bad night of sleep, but as all we did was cruise around and come right back into port I'm sure we were going slowly and within the protection of Baja California. So less creaking which was a good thing.

Today we decided to do something different for breakfast so we went to BBBB. Oh wait, we did that every day. Well, you can't beat the bacon and syrup...so there you go. HA! funny, last night we were watching Shark Tank on ABC where a bunch of millionaires listen to people try to get them to invest money. one guy had invented an alarm clock that heated up pre-cooked bacon so you woke up to that smell and then could pop out a little tray and eat away. The Sharks didn't like it...but I was thinking...if only there was another little tray for syrup I'd be all set! :thumbsup2

But I digress.

At 9:30 we had to head to diversions because this was an official Disney excursion. typically we go off on our own and don't use Disney (generally because it's cheaper and you get more stuff, but we were concerned about Mexico to be frank, so we didn't go that way on this one. We had even talked about doing a zip line tour...but again...given the killings...the thought of going inland to Mexico game me the heebie Jeebies. Maybe that's not realistic...but there it is. Yeah, I'm a wimp!

DS12 and I took on some chess.

DSC_0486.jpg

DS8 hung out by the window

So this excursion was going to be DS8 and I while Deanna and Nick observed. That was one nice difference from the one that DW did...we weren't allowed to observe on that one. It was good because we all stayed together which is a good thing, although DS12 was bored out of his mind. I figure that's good from time to time :)

I will apologize now for the number of pictures I'm about to throw at you. Believe it or not I deleted about 3/4 of them too. Clearly we were picture happy.

The Dolphin place (Cabo Adventures) was right next to where the tenders were, so it was a quick 5 minute walk past all the guys trying to get us to go with them on various other excursions. They even tried to get our CM to go on an excursion, pretty funny. And then I spotted the shirt I had to have on the backs of a couple. I chatted them up on the way to find out where I can get one...it was a skeleton Piranha and very cool looking. They told us where they got them and I vowed to check it out after the swim.

We got there and checked in and with all good things we had to wait. But luckily they had lounges that we could kick back on...and we had to put on our wet suits to get ready.

Not sure why I was making a fishy face.

But then it was time....time for what you ask? (nice timing by the way, I appreciate how my audience sets me up for the really good stuff). Time for Superhero Me. Yup...I became my own superhero. The wet suit squished me in all the right places...and I became...again...Superhero Me. I know, it's not a good name, I'm working on it.

DSC_0506.jpg

Sorry, Ladies, I'm already married. Some people would be embarrassed to post a picture like this. Not me...I'm a superhero!

And as all superhero's need a sidekick...

Superhero Me and Superhero Mini-Me

ha! I know...I know. Please go clean the drool up. I find that cloth towels clean drool better than paper towels. just a suggestion.

Superhero Me and Mini-Me posing with some fans. Like all superheroes, when I'm in my superhero outfit no one knows who I am.

Finally it was time to go in and swim with the dolphins. We were taking inside and introduced to our trainer...who's name I can't remember at all. Our dolphin was Nacho (which I also couldn't remember until DW came in a few minutes ago to tell me).

Overall I can't say I was really impressed by this company and the dolphin swim. When Deanna did this (granted in a different Mexican port) they seemed really engaged the whole time. Our trainer seemed lost after about 10 minutes of the 20-25 minute encounter and just kept doing the same thing over and over again.

For the first 5 minute he had the dolphin swimming around us as a group so we could pet him. This was really neat as we were in the water and the very close interaction with these incredible animals was cool. The skin feels like rubber, but is very slippery...and man is that tail ever powerful, he sped away from me at one point hitting my leg with his tail and it was so strong.

After that we all got to ride, the dolphin flipped over on it's back and rode us around the pool. Then more of the swimming around us. Then we got kisses and gave kisses to the dolphin, and then we all got to dance with the dolphin. How's that for a run-on sentence! One of the parents was very concerned that her daughter had a large booger in her nose (I’m not kidding), so she felt that the pictures would be ruined so she requested to have her daughter go again...and they ended up giving all the kids another ride (there were 3 kids including Connor). So that was cool.

but again, it was like the guy was surprised that there was time left over so he kept doing things over and over. Then at the end the dolphins all did a mini performance for us, swimming fast, jumping, etc. That was neat...and we had up front very close seats for it all.

Here are the pictures:

I had not had a lot of smooching from DW on this trip..so I got all I could with the animals...more on that later.

Connor got the same. isn't he a little young???

and again. Who know superheroes could swim with dolphins???

so reading DW's notes (again I give her all the credit for details), I realize that I left something out that I thought happened after the swim but actually happened before. OH well...you wouldn't have known that if I didn't tell you :)

In the corner of the waiting area the place had two parrots. We walked over and we were able to take all kinds of cool pictures. The trainers had this interesting sense of humor and had taught the parrots to kiss...with tongue. I told you...not enough smooching from DW on the trip!

Now it was DW's turn. I'm sorry that this will be 5 pictures long...but her expressions will make this whole painful trip report reading experience worth it. You ready?

My turn. I got tongue.

DSC_0542.jpg

good think I didn't open my mouth. this one wasn't too bad.

DSC_0547.jpg

Apparently the other one wanted some too. As I was not Superhero Me at this point, not sure what the parrot's saw in me. Guess I'm just a catch at any level! :thumbsup2

We did leave a tip (i think $5), but it was free other than that, so that was pretty cool.

With that done it was time to go and find my t-shirt. We got back to the port and checked everywhere...no t-shirt. There were others that were similar...but that shirt was awesome...and I didn't want to settle. But alas...no go for me on this trip. Not really sure as we went where the people said to go. Kinda strange.

But we did allow Connor's head to explode as we didn't allow him time to look and pick up *every single thing in the store*. Nick did manage to find his crystal...so we were all set there...and it was time to head back to the ship.

When we boarded the tender the previous two days we had sat below and seen very prominently the sign that said "NO TIPPING". (yes...this is foreshadowing...I haven't done that in a while so prepare yourselves). When we got on the lady on the tender pointed us to sit by where the captain was, so we were up on top which was pretty cool. Shortly after we started she offered to take a family picture:

DSC_0555.jpg

Aren't we cute??

and while she was taking a picture the captain very slyly turned over a sign that said "Tips Appreciated". HA! pretty funny. Then he let the kids drive the tender (uh...there was another sign that said not one except the captain was allowed to drive the boat, but I guess that was just a suggestion as well).

And then Connor...now that is scary! :scared1:
